Moroccan Air Force in the Yom Kippur War?
macelena replied to macelena's topic in Military and General Aviation
Perhaps they were kept tight during the 1973 War to prevent losses. I don´t think they would have stood a chance against those Shahaks in 1974 either. Also, those numbers would have meant a very significant portion of the RMAF back then. Perhaps some Moroccan particular feels like inflating their exploits towards the Arab cause, wich explains so much detail for an incident free interception. Moreover, the reference quoted leads to a 404ed page. However, i guess there must be some basis for those claims, even if exaggerated. -
I guess it was the setting, but i find the chick somehow unattractive. Maybe the whole being used as a dumber than brick token or bait for a geeky stunt. Either way, the trickshots were amazing. When you wonder at the time and effort wasted....i mean, put into developing that skills...

The guy did well wearing the balaclava, it must have been a priceless face. However, it should be noted that they got it right the second time and everything worked as expected.

Same feeling here. If anyone does a version of any anthem, let it be so, great, patriotic, everything you want to call it. But if you are to sing an anthem, sign THAT freaking anthem, it is not for your personal exhibition. In this particular case, maybe it is not the way it was meant to be song originally, if you want to think it this way. However that´s the way it has been as an anthem.

They should have put Ho Lee Fak just to make sure she said it right...

What Exactly Does Merge Mean?
macelena replied to Chutedangle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Now you can, i.e. use the Shahak cockpit to make the french Mirage3C flyable. And perhaps you have the Egyptian Camo for the F-4E(72) -

It was back in 2011, not too much reported, but anyway, it´s no news when a soldier dies...if not for the show he co-hosted, nobody would have known -
Because Jessica Biel, that´s why

To be honest, Phillip K Dick´s work has usually been the exception to the rule that the book was better than the film, Blade Runner being the prime example, at least in my opinion. The point about Total Recall, Blade Runner or Minority Report is that they are not as much as Phillip K Dick´s as they are Paul Verhoeven, Ridley Scott or Steven Speilberg movies wich had a great underlaying idea wich was (again, in my opinion and taste) better done in the films that in the book. I didn´t like either of the books as much as i did with the films (yeah, even the Tom Cruise one...damn, this guy is everywhere in this topic) Paul Verhoeven is...well, a bit of a weirdo, but i liked his touch in Total Recall and the original Robocop. However, the new Recall, while you have to see it as an unrelated movie (even with the obvious homages) and is cool (as much as Minority Report was, aesthetically quite familiar despite the years gone by) is, automatically compared to the older version. Not that is was bad, as much as a drone Top Gun film could be awesome, but it lacks what made the original stand out. You just have to see them as different movies. I still haven´t watched the new Robocop, despite the cast, due to missing Verhoeven´s ludicrous gore. AAAAAAAAAAAND i got the "Stealth" DVD. I just keep replaying the scene with Jessica Biel in a bikini, but still, that makes me the No.1 Fan in terms of commitment here

The precedent to be set is unvaluable, however, getting a bloodshed, even if limited to Ukraine and Russia, would mean only to harm innocent people (even the combattants) while the guys who are to blame assume those casualties as long as they serve their purpose. People pushing their personal agendas into thier country´s policies are guilty, even if their population somehow support them. I would say to look at those issues with a criminalistic point of view. Who is profiting, who has the means and opportunity to do the harm intended...and counter it. You can´t deter a bad guy by killing the servicemembers they use as expendable henchmen, you have to hit them where it hurts and disable the original purpose of their misdemeanor. If you have a country being invaded for, in example, using it´s sea access, block that access. If some guy fucks around to get reelected, strike the people who they work for and pay for their campaigns. But if we keep striking against the state wich may be not so much of a natural enemy, or at least not as hostile, instead of the corrupt element wich turn their policies against the interests we are to defend, we can expect to be played with, using our rules to forecast our response. Just to prove i´m able to apply this regardless to the "side": If i was Saddam Hussein when Desert Fox, i would have got Monica Lewinsky vanished before, say, answer with a 9-11. The former would have looked awkward as crap, while the later would have meant anything short of nuking Baghdad.

ThirdWire DLC - Advice?
macelena replied to KJakker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Of all phantoms, F-4N is the best there is around. F-4Ks are, in many regards, not too much to offer beyond Ms at times. F-4EJ may be hard to place, but the skins are a work of art. Mirage III, all are must have. The Belgian one, is great and adds much needed variety to Euro79 campaign, the same applies to the MirageIIIC and Euro62. The AI packs rock too, and you can always make them flyable. Kiwi and Aussie Skyhawks are cool, but in the end, you may not fly them too often. A-4L and A-4A are even worse in that regard Also, i would be careful with Hunters. Dutch and Omani are cool, but Swedes and Swiss, not so much. F-21A kicks ass, but is late and perhaps too short a timeframe, I would avoid Corsairs altogether. French Crusaders are cool, but realistically, much less capable than their US counterparts. And F-8K is not worth it. EDIT: Summarizing, i would get the F-4N, one of the Mirages (3O, 3C and/or 5BA) and the AI packs -
Afterburners causing drop in FPS
macelena replied to pieisgood's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Maybe those particular aircraft use an afterburner effect specially heavy in terms of processing or something -
WTF? What's next, Total Recall without blood and fucking Colin...oh, wait...no...

No offece intended. I´m the guy calling for goatborne STDs to fight the talibans, or drugging Putin to chill him the eff down myself, i mean, it is positive

Iraq is a completely different scenario. Hell, even the oil contracts went to China and Norway, IIRC. And while the US could have done better in Iraq, most of the blame of the killing of civilians come from the enemy they faced mixing up with the population. People without uniform, wich rings some bells regarding the current situation. They left the best they knew. Saddam was the guy who gassed or massacred anyone who opposed them. Ukraine was peaceful until their government decided to enter negotiations with the EU, instead of lining up with Putin´s sphere of coprosperity. Well, as peaceful as radioactive isotope poisoning allows. Compare this to Ukraine. Even you said out loud, comparing it to Hawaii, that the naval base was a reason to invade. I would like to remind that Hawaii is, willfully, a part of the US. Ukraine is not. And please, save your keyboard from bringing up the referendum in wich 112% of Crimeans voted for the annexion. They walked in unopposed when the Ukranians still had to set up a new government, after the guy who had been positively drowned in bribes finally left his golden bungalow. And don´t even get me started on history. Yeah, mostly Russian population, given by Khruschev to Ukraine, them Nazi supporters, after being purposedly starved to death by the millions by the guy who...the new Russian leader idolizes (Putin even thanked Georgia for giving such a great man to Russia before...well, you know, that other time his puppet guy made an electoral campaign through war boner). When you see the goose-stepping, slavic-hating, Hugo Boss-wearing sadist faggots blitzing around as liberators, you know you have been seriously fucked with. And please, note that it is not the Russians i´m blaming. The average Russian is nuts, but look at Americans like Dave "nuke the TV off when the remote fails" Slavens, or even Europeans like some Swede and some Polish hanging around. It is the guy using up those feelings that is to blame. After all, it is the Russians that, willing or not, have to take Putin at a permanent basis.

I really hope they were tracking them. I´m sure an AEGIS ship could just microwave an aircraft down, but shit happens, and look at what the USS Stark had. It would be, at least "awkward" if some russian missile carrier bomber blew off the water a Burke while engaging loyalist Ukranian vessels Putin is willing to sacrifice as many russians as it best serves him, he would play with anyone facing the issue straight. An embargo would be wicked, yet the best way to solve it is shoving it up directly up Putin´s original shithole. Because he has made a new onw out of his mouth. If all he says are shameless lies and still feels an smartass, look at how much credibility is he going to have. He is making Dubya look like a saint

Well, that´s what they make those DDGs for, don´t they? Anyway, if the russians meant to sink one, i guess they would try with Subs first

Top Gun Campaigns
macelena replied to JSF_Aggie's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Cool lineup, it would be cool to have a later campaign including F-4S and maybe even Kfirs. BTW,Not trying to be an smartass, but that campaign loading screen features an F-4S for 1970. -
While i allway felt that a modification like the F-4S undertook was a no brainer for carrier service, i was intrigued about why weren´t naval phantoms modified this way much earlier, and such improvements being made with F-4Ns, project Bee Line and such. I´ve read somewhere, that F-4S however had issues operating from carriers and that slats were not so much of a good idea for the Navy...why? I mean, i thought of a different landing envelope about higher AoA making view of the deck difficult or the airframes being too heavy and wasted to land in a less shallow glide, but found nothing wich really made sense about the issue it seemed to be
