Now, after all is over, it is easy to tell how this or how that was the best choice. Obviusly, we all think they should have either landed in Kandahar or never have been diverted to Oman, but there is no way to say they effed up this or that way. If anything, learn the lessons, adjust training and procedures, et cetera. There seemed to be a lack of communication between the aviators, probably the backseater could have talked him out of depleting the APU (wich brings out the issue of redundancy at several levels...why couldn´t they get that power bck from the left engine alone?) and should have called out the ejection, the guy in the back seat could have been killed, while we don´t know if the pilot had time to tell him. By the commanders, failing to provide a proper capability to land in Afghanistan without further issue, and diverting an starving and malfunctioning aircraft to Oman could very well be considered poor judgement. However, we can´t (or at least most of us can't) walk in their shoes. I just hope this lesson has been learnt and there is not another incident causing fatalities

Enemy ground units appearing at certain time during the mission?
macelena replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
You can set that with the mission editor. Any kind of ground unit...and ships, for that matter. You could make a sub "surface" at a particular moment -

He had just finished filming his scenes for part 3. Still, i will remember him as Forney and a film about a USMC recon patrol in a Japanese occupied island.

Now that i think about it, i´m going to try and see if i can force Rolling Thunder into victory by nuking the dust out of NV with a B-58. It is the only way to imrpove my campaign record -

Is SF:NA campaign winable?
macelena replied to Emp_Palpatine's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Indeed, the SF2NA campaign in a Tomcat is, along with Red LIghtning in a USAF Phantom, the only campaign i´ve won. Ever. In 7 years -
New Style Vietnam war
macelena replied to Gulfwarfighter's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
I once made something in 1979, with Russians and Vietnamese in the South against chinese invading from the north, with the Minsk battlegroup included. Will try to see how that can work again -
News here mentioned that he was said to have been under PTSD and other issues, they are also echoing some reports by the wich an estimated 2000 servicemembers had taken their lives since 2014 began...how can they possibly be true? Several times more casualties to suicide and PTSD than by the own combat itself?

If they didn´t leave Putin out, he would have fished him out, Tuna style. However it seems more likely for it to be his henchshark. You know who got the sharks Dr. Evil had to replace with his mighty Eels

A good match for the Hunter in A-A?
macelena replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
If it is meant to be of the same class, i would say a MiG-19, more performance, not so much stability. If by looks and history, i would say go for a Mirage 3 -

DLC 30 AI Pack 3 MiG-25s
macelena replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Man, it is great having friends, specially so naive to fall for this three years in a row. Btw, if i didn´t say anything about EXP3 is because it is a bit burnt out after all the times i´ve been talking about the EXP3 wich is coming this summer...with Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson along the others!!! -
Yes, like you can´t bludgeon your brother in law to death with an AR-15 if the firing pin is inside, you may misaligne it or something
-
Shit like that happens. When my grandad died, my mother´s brother had not been committed enough, to say it somehow. My grandad trusted my father, his son in law, much better when taking care of issues as his condition worsened, and it became a rather unconfortable situation. After he passed away, my uncle at least had the decency to acknowledge his wrongs, and was thankful that my father never tried to take any advantage of the situation. Either way, fuck your bro-in-law. I strongly suggest you not to rage up, and show restrain in the sense of not comprmising your wife. Just support her in whatever she needs, and be prepared to take a lot of unfair shit, because in the end, taking care of yours is much more important. If you should come up to the funeral and burial, and whatever other issues may follow, remember that it is not the time to get mad with your family in the line of fire, no matter how right you might be. Just damage control man.

Swiss Hunters DLC?
macelena replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
F-4N became that much better after several patches wich added slotted stabs and dropping ailerons to what was originally just an F-4B with DECMs. And it could be even better if it could carry AIM-7E4s without editing, as it was capable of in RL, AFAIK. And it could really use an stock Sharkmouth or Black Knights skin. -
A Viper in Japan, a Tiger in Spain
macelena replied to ValAstur's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
It may look a bit better if the fuselage roundel was placed near ther rear, between the control surfaces, like in USAF F-16s or EdA Hornets -
I have a few of our Civil War. Most, if not all of my ancestors were on the Republican side: One of my great-grandparents was a flight mechanic with Tupolev SBs and flew against the Nationalist Navy flagship, "Baleares", in the action that sunk it, and bombed the German pocket-battleship "Deustchland". After the war, he was the projectionist on the best theater in Cartagena "Cine Central" Another of my great-grandfathers was a senior civil engineer int the port of Alicante, wich was a common target of the Italian Sparvieros. He was haunted by the memory of a man standing by him who didn´t duck fast enough, whose brains were sprayed against the wall by the shockwave of an air dropped bomb. When he was about to be drafted, he was deemd to be more valuable in his post, in wich he remained after the war until his retirement. Another one fought defending the Madrid University, was captured and, like most of his unit, "executed" but survived the firing squad and got rich as a contrabandist in the post war. He lived long enough to show me the scars of his execution. The last one was a veteran Cavalry Sargeant. Having fought in Morocco and being decorated several times, he was questioned by the Republicans first as a suspected sympathizer of the Nationalists, and later by the Nationalist for having not been executed by the Republicans after being questioned. In both occasions, his neighbors and friends gave their word of being committed to wichever cause he was meant to be.
