That halo jump with the 2001 Space Oddisey creepy tune was awesome, but being the only thing prominently displayed...i hope that´s not the only thing. Btw, that´s why you in the USAF should not dispose of Warthogs yet

Good luck man, with mofos like those you need to be completely untrusty. Keep as much ammo to sue the living crap out of them if you have to, probably that´s what would keep them from taking their shit too far. Hope it gets better eventually

Project Topic Dhimar/Paran Enhancement
macelena replied to dast24's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Actually, Dhimar was meant to be not predominantly Arab in the scenario i set, much like Rhodesia, South Africa or the own Israel were mainly populated by ethnics of European background. I put them because i prefered the Kfir as a low cost aircraft compared to Tomcats and F-16s wich still had a good ECM-Decoy suit, along with the edge provided by CCIP for an attacker. While Mirage F1s and F-5s would be cool, i intended to keep it stock -
Project Topic Dhimar/Paran Enhancement
macelena replied to dast24's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
I had several considerations to make when i did my personal enhancement for the Dhimar/Paran scenario: 1.I wanted it to be set in the eighties, much like the Iran-Iraq war, the best timeframe began around 1984. 2.I was limited by my computer being kinda burned out to stock stuff, as mods would reduce FPS harder than graphics (i can play better in a vanilla install with the best graphics than a modded install with lower graphic performance, dont know why). I already have a few DLCs to deal with it. 3.For balance, i intended to keep as many aircraft as possible equipped with decoys and, if possible, ECM for enhanced survivavility That´s why particular storyline was: Dhimar was some kind of a wealthy secular country, with a largely pro-western population wich could and wanted to afford to spend in the best stuff they could get , while Paran was a poorer country handicapped with social issues wich had to stay on budget, and make do with what they could have to control its own insurgencies, whose goverment just got overthrown with a pro-soviet coup, then used as a proxy to mess with the Dhimaris. Their OrBats would be: Dhimar: like the IDFAF in Lebanon 82 but changing Bazs for Tomcats. They would have F-14s in Desert camo (either adversary or Iranian livery) along with F-16 Netz, F-4 Kurnass, Kfir C2s, latest model A-4Hs... all in Desert camo Paran: Mirage5BA (80) and A-7Ps, wich share a nearly identical wraparound camo, along with Omani Hunter FGA.73 (82) would be the remnants of the poor, prowestern Parani air force. MiG-23 MLDs and Tu-22RDs would be a reinforcement against the well equipped Dhimari forces While constrained by the issues i posted about earlier, it amounts for a great campaign. Parani Hunters get to be the obsolescent-PITA-dogfighter Frescos used to be in earlier campaigns, while a campaign in a Parani Mirage5BA flying past Tomcat and Netz fighters to hit targets is epic. Also, it is nice to have Tomcats in a ground based tactical fighter role, while for everything else in the Dhimari AF, it looks like a more challenging Lebanon war campaign in a fictional setting. Very 80s like -

First thing to cross my mind was the Diplomatic Security Service, but it seems like a bit of BS

http://mag.newsweek.com/2013/11/08/mortal-enemies-facebook-friends.html I think that, after the topic on how legit it is to shoot deliberately at the enemy pilot, in wich everyone pretty much agreed it is, this shows you where that chivalry lies on. I think we can get the whole picture of the issue this way, without either argument negating the other.

Are all aspect missiles too deadly?
macelena replied to Emp_Palpatine's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
To me, ingame, they spoil much of the fun. I try to stay in a timeframe in wich missiles are effective yet not deadrays, Vietnam, Six Day and Yom Kippur being my favs for that matter, along with historical significance beyond the awesome, yet fictional scenarios of cold war gone hot. -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30aZiY1hTj4 Now he has to do this with some Russian Knights Su-27s looping and barrel rolling while holding a company of tank-driving Spetnaz forming a red star, complete with a hammer and sickle. EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4yk7rHFWvY Apparently somebody already thought of it, somehow

I Need A Project To Do

i dont know if thes has been made, but an skinpack for the DLC USAF Starfighters? -
None achieved an A-A kill, and they did only have AIM-9s. Air superiority was an Eagle thing, so much Tomcats did get only one kill IIRC, but i guess that would be another story

That reminds me of a time in wich ETA terrorists were so short in bomb makers that they had to rush the new IRA-wannabes, causing several to blow themselves up instead of children of military or highway toll operators. Either way, the funniest unintentional terrorist self blowing up was that chechen black widow who blew along with her pimp, erm handler when they got some spam SMS for New Year´s Eve

Shooting the Cockpit - War Crime or just immoral?
macelena replied to TeaAndScones's topic in The Pub
As long as he is in the cockpit, he is still fighting. While it would be better to neutralize any threat without killing the enemy, there is usually no option. Also, in modern aircraft it is already hard enough to hit the plane for you to prevent hitting the cockpit, while killing the pilot is the only way to ensure the aircraft is downed, a trouble wich became more prevalent with aircraft wich would have allowed better that kind of target discrimination, such as WWI fighters Personally, i think that if a cause is worth a war, when human lives are on the line, what would be wrong is not to kill the enemy out of sportmanship or something like that. If i was the pilot of the Me-109 who escorted a damaged B-17 back to England in WW2, i wouldn´t have hesitated in shooting it down as it was still a threat. The bomber could have been repaired and the crew could have survived to fly another mission. If they bailed out, it would be absolutely different. It would be like saying that killing enemies with drones or helicopters is immoral because they can´t fight back. By the same reason, i think the insurgents are not to blame for using IEDs as a weapon, as they know this works and any other measure would be probably uneffective. What would be to immoral would be to use either method to target non-combattants. We can discuss how immoral is a cause or how unnecesarily cruel you are against the enemy, but when there is a reasonable advantage to a method of killing an enemy, go ahead. -

Great, love the Russian stuff in our civil war. BTW, sintactically, it would be "Regimiento de Ataque" for literally "Regiment of Attack", denoting "Attack Regiment". "Ataque de Regimiento" would mean "Attack of Regiment" or "Regiment Attack"
