Military Question a point of accuracy for a sci fi short story
macelena replied to Skyviper's topic in Military and General Aviation
Probably, warfare will have changed so much that there wont be an equivalent to artillery as we understand it, but since it is fiction, you could adapt the procedures to the specifications of the technology and weapons system. -

Some kind of skin pack with ATAC and Draken skins would kick ass badly...just saying -

They could shoot his fingers and toes off with his own handgun and keep blowing chunks off him until dead, i just heard he used some kind of 5.7 ammo wich hurts like a mofo

I thought you meant Private-Inmate Chelsea Manning...creepy

My approach would be to let him go with other guests at Leavenworth. They´ll chew his male stuff off and tear him a brand new vagina.

ThirdWire Android/iOS ... more of it...
macelena replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Many types are included in the data inis, some of wich have been included later in expansions or DLCs, like Su-22s, MiG-25s, half post-war RAF (Mosquitos, Meteor nightfighters, Venoms, SwiftsJags, Buccs)... it could be great if a MiG-25 was released in another AI pack. My game is trolling me with false new DLC announcements, hope there is something new soon. -

Flyable B-52?
macelena replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Fly low, "frying chickens in a barnyard" and drop them like you would do from a phantom. you have 27 bombs to hit the target, someone will do it. That´s not the way it was done in Vietnam, but it works in game for me. -
Well, i have the feeling that his uncle, in example, is an asshole, but at least he seems to be shooting bad guys on an Apache

Just like in Spielberg´s War of the Worlds, it may be a great film ruined by the wish of the annoying leads to die the F up

I cant watch vids with my current connexion, but something i allways respected was that you guys can get a dozen folks not to leave anyone behind. If there is anything wich helped reduce casualties in modern warfare is the ability to bring people to a hospital fast instead of having them bleed out in the field. I recently signed up for a few possible stations and one of them being PJ, my fear is not to be up to what would be expected of me.

Multiplayer campaign in Iceland
macelena posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Allright, it would be uber cool, but it can´t be exactly like that. Here is my idea I edited an expanded campaign for Northern Sabre, namely adding the USS America BG and a few more units using stock stuff from TW games. So just as Op Darius was to be a campaign with each one having an squadron and posting AARs to the topic, i thought it could be great to try that in SF2NA If you lack some of the items, you can just replace them. I don´t think it will matter too much if you use the Nimitz model for the America. Also, there are several Phantom units and an Skyhawk squadron added, so be cool if you need to replace some of those with other stuff or play with another squadron, in some cases, it has been already fixed to use alternative aircraft as a replacement. Units Available as it is now (suggestions accepted, but remember that it needs balance): USN VF-41 (F-14A_77) (USS Nimitz) VF-84 (F-14A_77) (USS Nimitz) VA-82 (A-7E_74) (USS Nimitz) VA-86 (F-14A_77) (USS Nimitz) VA-35 (A-6E) (USS Nimitz) VF-114 (F-14A_77) (USS America) VF-213 (F-14A_77) (USS America) VA-192 (A-7E_74) (USS America) VA-195 (A-7E_74) (USS America) VA-95 (A-6E) (USS America) VF-201 (F-4N) (USS America) USMC VMFA-115 (F-4J_74) (NAS Keflavik) VMFA-333 (F-4J_74) (USS Nimitz) VMA-223 (A-4M_78) (NAS Keflavik) USAF 57th FIS (F-4E_75) (NAS Keflavik) Who is willing to do it? I wish i could. In Spain, the armor is divided in Cavalry and Mechanized Infantry. Surprisingly, there weren´t vacants for either, only Light Infantry and Sappers. Anyway, if i get into the Marines, i would go for the Tank company, wich operates those. But i would definitely have gone Cavalry. Centauro VCR crewman, however. Indeed, i got a friend who joined a couple of years ago, who finally asked for the Royal Guard, despite i told him Cavalry was the way to go. Now, both him and the Psychologist told me to try for the Guard, wich is most likely where i could end up. But man, i would have loved to be a tanker. Shame we don´t have those cool M41s anymore.

Thanks again everybody for all your support, specially coming from friends and veterans wich inspired me to do something more than just trying to make a living, any living. Btw, you know interservice rivalry is deep when you are minding your own business and a wild Navy-Dad appears all of a sudden, stares at you like a fighting bull and claims HIS aegis frigate alone could F'up all MY Air Force Typhoons when you haven´t even been accepted for service yet. Then he could have said "Mack, join me in the Navy, together, we will destroy the Emperor and rule the galaxy as father and son" but he went to the kitchen for some coffee.

Thanks everybody! about aircraft maintenance, there are two stations, but with few vacants, in wich i might land, one is the Navy Air Arm, in Rota Naval Base (Hueys, Seakings, Seahawks and Harriers) or Air Force Wing 11, in Moron Air Base, with Typhoon and Orions. Army didn´t send any vacants for helo maintenance, Chinook or any other. Either way, most probably, i´ll end up in some high end Air Force Security or Marines. My biggest fear is not being up to the task, but the Psychologist Captain at the recruitment station said i was good enough. Wondering why he said i was too smart for cannon-feeding Paratroopers but said i would do great in Marines. My father later told me that he knew the guy, and was a former Marine. Talk about branch rivalries lol

Of course, they will run background checks on them...will they?

Val, I was going that very same road, i know how you feel. I can´t become a flyboy, unless they ultimately let enlisted, visually imperfect folks fly drones or something. Kevin, unsurprisingly, my parent says the same about the Marines...wich is unnerving since he is the supply officer supporting their school, SpecOps unit and base security force...gasp... For everybody else, thanks for the support, i´ll give it all to this shot.
