Why payback? The Natives weren´t in fault of the Moors wich we had just expelled. Besides, somebody had to stop those evil Caribes, Aztecs, Incas and such. Repent, indian mofos.

You got a point there, my master lol

chaff and flares for F-8 FN?

Not that easy, you should have those entries listed in a parent component of the aircraft, i think -
What are you ?
macelena replied to TeargasHorse's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I used to be a Mirage guy, but pretty much like daddyairplanes, i got used to the naval Phantoms, much fun to fly, specially since now i play in a laptop without joystick. The late 70s, being the "underdog" compared to the Tomcat, makes it only better. -
Let's Play Strike Fighters 2
macelena replied to Slushie's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
maybe the point was "stick back", as for phantoms i put the stick forward, that was the main difference between what i did and what you said. In fact, it felt like it couldn't pitch down, it was the opposite i'm used to see ingame -
I seem to have been lucky enough to meet a different kind of Greek women.

Let's Play Strike Fighters 2
macelena replied to Slushie's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I don´t fly the F-14 a lot, indeed, my favs would be USN Phantoms, but i give a chance to the replacement from time to time. Last time, coming home with another Tomcat after a succesful intercept of cruise missile bombers, we met 4 Floggers and engaged them as we only expended the Phoenixes. I don´t know what did i do wrong, but i stalled and crashed. I stall, spin and anything on slatless phantoms without any trouble, however, i couldn´t recover the stall on the Tomcat. I felt as stupid as Tom Cruise. All this happened with stock TW models. -

No matter what the system is, it will go corrupt. As ancient greeks said, Democracy gets to become demagogy, Monarchy becomes Dictatorship, and Aristocracy becomes Olygarchy. No matter how the system is on paper, it will get corrupted, because besides all the class warfare, everybody wants his share of the cake to be bigger. The ones oppressed will become the oppressor. That´s why democracy and capitalism work better than other systems, because it is better suited against corruption. Indeed, in any revolution or war, as hrc hinted, by mere natural selection the good people dies while the inmoral profits. True revolution is not about changing the system, it is about changing the people. The way they act individually in their ordinary lives, and as a group. How do democracies fare in countries without that enlightement? It is the people that makes a democracy what it is. I would rather live in a tiranny with decent citizens than in a democracy with servile serfs. -
Exp3 News! (no, not really)
macelena replied to FastCargo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Btw, have you people seen the different arab Mirage variants available in SFA Israel? Maybe not the most interesting as DLCs, but a nice bonus for Exp3 when (or if) it comes out. -
We are both in Neuron and in Barracuda...not bad for wasting money

Glad to hear it´s going on. Keep struggling

We had them since 1988, when it was all cleared up at the same time, and never gave any trouble. In fact, i now of some tiny girl by the name of Fatima, wich was a muslim para, and got decorated for bravery when she pulled his Sgt out of a 4x4 hit by an IED and shot the hell out of talis with her MG42 in Afghanistan on an ambush after being wounded herself. They can sure be some scary mommas.

After watching Indy 4, I´m thinking on making individual nuke shelters out of fridges if Iran gets the bomb. Will try in Korea too.

There was such a film, "Karelia", about Finnish bike skirmishers. It was well done, IIRC. If Red Tails failed, it was because of the crappy CGI overload. After that, I´m glad Lucas won´t get to mess with the third trilogy of Star Wars

However, will the corporate men in the airlines give such systems a go? They might prefer not to expend the money, if the possibility of loosing an airplane and having to pay damages (highly doubtful to blame the company on a MANPADS strike) is going to be more expensive than the system itself, while it could be argued that it is another unpractical product by defence contractors willing to expand markets. Mass production along military models could lower the price, but how common would military and civilian versions be?

the way apaches or another dedicated attack chopper could have handled this better depends not on armour, but on staying out of range of small arms and rotating like an small version of an Spectre, wich is why i guess cannon fire seems so unprecise in Youtube.

Good luck Sir, keep struggling. Try to use the time in the library getting some formation. I don´t know how things are there, but we have here something known as "People´s University" (no communist thing) in libraries wich provides some minor qualification courses nearly for free in administrative or other areas. If there is some possibility to get anything like that, go for it, don´t fall down into boredom, stay active, there will be something for you, not the job of your dreams, but something wich could help you out. I wish you the best, sir.

Wouldn´t it be great that the Starfighter F-104A/C, Mirage IIIE and others were in from a future PC release? I hope we see a Mirage F1 in android soon -

Upgrading stock campaigns: Northern Sabre...any other ideas?
macelena replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yep, it does require editing provisionally, but it must be patched. Other than that, it is just a B with DECM fairings and flares. About the A-G radar, i have no idea if they had it. No upgrade is mentioned on that, and B radars were AA only and still operated pounding mud. The lack of slotted stabs however is a bleeding mismatch, given the evidence and info on that. However, i wonder if there is any possibility of solving the trouble of the dropping ailerons thru ini edits, i think the animation must be coded into the model. I keep trying out the Phantom in that scenario. I don´t know how much slotted stabs affect this, but Js seems to recover from stalls much better than other F-4s...and as i was told, i don´t use the flaps on stalls. Really starting to feel how better the J is than other Phantoms. While unslatted, it handles like a boss and radar is much better than anything but teen generation fighters. Loadout edits for properly weaponry in the late 70s are needed too. So far i put AIM-7Fs and AIM-9Hs, if they would have been limited to AIM-7E2s or would have used AIM-9Ls, feel free to tell me, i´ll change the inis to reflect that. -
Agree 100%. One thing is to use HOT missiles to blow tanks from afar, but strafing a hundred guys with AKs, technicals and who knows what else with a gazelle armed with 20 mm cannons is rather unfit. Even the Tigre HAP version would do ok.

macelena replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Well, i´ve been trying out the F-4N in campaign with an USMC squadron in NAS Keflavik, However, the squadron happens to be on the other side of the world in RL (VMFA-323, deployed aboard Coral Sea) and other Marine Phantom squadrons were either West Coast (VMFAs 314 and 531) or flew F-4Js (wich are not a bad idea, thinking on Shamrocks) However, while trying the F-4N i noticed something: Its RWR doesn´t pick MiG-23s, nor SA-6s, by the way. Wouldn´t it make sense? Even F--4J does pick them -
IIRC, SEALs are a no go for women, despite i heard something about an all-out integration. So would be for most US combat branches. There are some, like USAF security, in wich i think there were even female snipers, and MPs are open to women and taking a more important part in operations. However, i doubt she will get clearance with the health issues you mentioned. I too know what it means to be unfit for a service you want to give (how many of us are not pilots because of vision?) For me, i´ve got the career issue almost solved, however, i remember a buddy wich had a malformation in one hand and was a nice war nerd willing to do his part. He is studying Law, a couple of courses below me, and will be as much as an useful good man, wich is what mankind needs, as any.
