A-6 cockpit
macelena posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I´m used to make a lot of night strikes from A-6s, but there is a trouble, that being the canopy. For an all weather bomber, it looks like sunglasses. Indeed, it is pretty hard to see anything out, specially at night. Night carrier landings take 4 or five approaches, and i still fail miserably many times, either striking the ramp or running overboard. Low level navigation is almost completely instrumental, and weapons delivery...well, i had to do with SnakeEyes until i tuned it up with CCIP. Is there a way to alter the canopy so the windshield isn´t as dark as a RayBans? Thanks a lot -
I didn´t mean to say it was Fukushima or Chernobyl, but a man died, and the fact is that while it is not worth of panick, it is worth of concern. France put a hard bet on nuclear power, and in Spain we get what our eolic, solar and conventional thermal plants can´t produce from your nuclear plants. I didn´t mean that France should stop it, and in fact, i advocate for nuclear to be the way until we (read eurpoe, the western world or the mankind) can get all our energy from renewable sources. However, any incident involving nuclear waste and people being killed is worth talking about.

I thought on some "fake" methods to get kamikazes working. I would like to see that. -
Esos malfitos alemanes y sus agujeros negros...ya la han vuelto a liar.

An interesting weapons system for the 106
macelena replied to macelena's topic in Military and General Aviation
I guess that´s why it was dropped. However, how about replacing the internal gun-genie station with extra fuel? -
Now that´s a DLC i would pay for

Rebels control now most of the city, but fighting with pockets of resistance continue. The son of Ghaddafi, his deputy commander, has surrendered, while the dictator remains nowhere to be found, possibly left for Venezuela (yeah, i hate Chavez too). The war is far from being over, and the country will face hard times wich the international community shall observe closely, however, this is a big step. Tonight, i´m dreaming of the Russians dropping the hammer on Sirya and Ghaddafi´s plane crashing on Hugo Chavez. I´ll think more seriously tomorrow.

Hi all. I´ve been researching a bit about the US police departments in the 1970s for a possible job, learned some interesting info, but there is something yet i don´t get, and it is about weapons and ammo. I think there were quite a few members informed about it, so i guess i should ask here. I can tell the difference between an M16 and an AK47, and learned a bit about our Army´s gear, but i´m kind of ignorant on some other issues and i couldn´t really find out on the web. I´m particulary interested in wich cartridge has a better chance of taking down a man (not killing, just putting him out of combat) with a single shot: the 357 Magnum, or the .45 ACP? Regards

Thanks everybody for your inputs. The issue with police in the 1970s is that i´ve got a chance to work on a comic. A book seller, relative of a friend, learned about my drawing, and told me that if i could make up that story and have it ready by Christmas, he would print, promote and release it, as i would work with his son (graphic technician). He told me what he wanted, an story in the 70s around something like Untouchables, in a fictional city, i am free to make the rest on my own. I thought of a mix of law enforcement, both local and federal, to make up the team. The fictional city would be a composition of San Francisco and Los Ángeles, and i´ve been asked to make it as detailed as possible. The would be main character, not the leader of the group, would be inspired to some extent by the character of Harrison Ford in "Blade Runner", and Al Pacino in "Heat", a local cop. As it is to be an special detachment, i figured out they could get non standard issue weaponry, but i wanted to keep it close to the standards of the era. For this particular character, he would basically be not a gunslinger, but use his gun just to make sure that, if he is to shoot someone, he is to get him down. So i thought of an S&W Model 19 or 28 revolver in 357 magnum, however, if a 45 is better for that, i would think about it. On the other hand, i thought of issuing M1911s or S&W 39, as main sidearms and Walther PPK and Colt Detective Special as back ups, just to mention some. Long weapons and all that would be M1 carbines, M3 or Swedish K SMGs, AR18s, Ithaca37 shotguns... And still working on vehicles, city layout, etc.

bombing with the f-111
macelena replied to firehawk66's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
you mean you dive from 15000 feet? Kind of wrong. Not that a shallow dive wouldn´t work, but that´s for attackers like the A-4, A-7, Mirages, etc... not for bombers. You gotta get in at tree top level and drop the snakeyes as you fly over the target. Try coming in at 200ft, and pull up when you drop the ordnance, to prevent being damage by your own bombs hitting the ground or any secondaries. Flying in this profile also helps you with SAMs, and if you fly fast enough, guns will have trouble getting you. -
Eso es porque normalmente esta limitado a ese año en SF2, el mod estaba diseñado para sfp1. Deberias poder cambiarlo en el Options.ini o en el terrain data, pero no lo manejo muy bien

I did not mean anything wrong with American leadership. It is just that people screws up, I did not even say anything about military leadership, but political. About George Dewey, he doesn´t ring a bell. Fighting the rebels in Phillipines and Cuba for three years, in the other side of the world, and engage an unexpected enemy while we have a war with the Moroccans here, does ring a bell. It wasn´t American leadership what made us loose that war. It was technical advantage, wich didn´t help so much to save US lives, as while your navy pounded ours, your Rough Riders, under the great leadership of Teddy Roosevelt, having machine guns, artillery, balloons and a 3 or 4 to one numerical superiority, had their asses beaten badly by a battalion made up of army troops, marines and sailors, to the point that, if you watch it in such a sports event, casualties in that war were even for both nations. Anyway, we lost, and i hope you enjoyed Philippines and Cuba. The Moro rebellion and all about Cuba has been a real bargain for the US, hasn´t it? Btw, now that you mention the 1898 war, and seeing you so anxious to enter war with the Chinese, i just got an idea. Why don´t you send up a warship to, let´s say, Shangai, and blow it up blaming the Chinese? This way you can pound them at will. Ok, maybe it won´t be so easy, but wth, you would have an excuse to try and nail someone you owe money to. It is quite mafia style, but why not?
