Cut off the please lol -
Well, i would say that the M4 allows more versatility, apart of being the service rifle of your country (you were american, weren´t you lol), but while the MP5 would only fit an "storyline" about SWAT or somekind of special unit, that´s why i would pick this one up, a cop gun. I mean, personally.

Go for it man, it is quite hard to have such a chance. Many of us here couldn´t even dream of it because of any kind of impairment, either eyes or whatever. All of us woul give our nuts to be there, so go ahead and accomplish it. Do it for us man, for those who couldn´t. Become an angel so us, poor mortals, can see that someone can make it thru. It is simply brilliant.

Possible scrapping of the Tornado as well...
macelena replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Military and General Aviation
I know that i said it several times, but the last cuts in the UK defence budget are going to completely change, in a historic way not seen in centuries, the capability of Great Britain to act in the global scenario. While for hundreds of years the UK has been a prime power, this will leave them equal, if no worse than most of the countries in their environment. Not even after the world wars has Britain suffered such a blow in their balance. While they had ceased long ago to be a superpower, this crisis, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the cuts related to that will mean such a decrease in their capabilities, in all terms (carriers, surface combatants, fighters, logistics, and soon a decimated army) that they will play another league. While this all is being dressed as temporary, i seriously doubt that those capabilities will be recovered if not retained. It would take an investment that you cannot guarantee. Th cuts are a fact, but the plans for recovery are just plans. I think this is going to get quite bad. On the other side, every western country has been in such kind of trouble in recent history, and made it back to a decent position. While i´m sure that the UK wil never be what it was, i´m sure that better times will come eventually -
Most western rocketpods have a cover before firing for the benefit of aerodynamics. If you look at the shots taken from the tail on the ground, you can see the rockets and their tubes. Its a french rocket launcher, however, i can identify the type, i´m sure someone else will.

Lo del TTE Picapiedra se soluciona en el DATA ini del avion, en la entrada piloto, renglon pilot position, son coordenadas, me parece que tienes que aumentar la última. Prueba hasta que salga

Those motherf´s are strafing their own people from the air. If we had balls in the EU, we could deploy a joint typhoon force in Sicily and enforce a no-fly zone over the coastal cities (gotta write it down for a SF campaign, btw) while the UN finds out that there is need to do something in the ground

The history of the CETME is, more exactly, that postwar we had basically an arsenal of arms developed from german weapons, in example, the Z45, wich was basically a MP-40 with a longer round (9x23mm) and fixed some reliability issues, as well as a different barrel, so we wanted to get better. The CETME was (so was the FAL originally), meant to be an assault rifle, (this means, firing ammo like the 5.56x45mm NATO or 7.62x39mm (AK-47) wich, while less powerful than 7.62x51, is better controlable at automatic fire). In the case of the CETME, the proposal was the 7.62x51 CETME bullet, but lighter than the NATO standard. However, the US pressed so the NATO service rifles would have full power cartridges, the 7.62x51 NATO. (Ironically, like ten years later the US would press for the adoption of an intermediate cartridge, the 5.56, the opposite position) So, the CETME A &B were assault rifles, but when the germans got interested, a 7.62x51 NATO rifle (Battle rifle, instead of assault rifle) was developed jointly, that´s the way we got the G3 in Germany and the CETME C in Spain. Export rights were handed over to the germans. The differences were the rear iron sight, the trigger group, flash hiders and magazines. Later, the G3 would change the handguard also.

Ammo problem
macelena replied to tiopilotos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Specially if you refer to the Mirage F1 in your sig in the first series, those lacked their specific DEFAs. You could try in the Data ini by changing DEFA 553 per DEFA 552, and change all the guns in the aircraft wich lack it for those wich work. However, you shuold install a gun pack (most weapons packs include guns too) -

X-37B and its Russian Friend...
macelena replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Military and General Aviation
When in doubt, my favourite ever weapon in space warfare in the Anvil. It doesn´t require guidance, you just leave it synchronical in the orbit-path of the target, and let the target speed do the job. However, given the trouble of getting spaceborne the thing, i´m not sure about cost effectiveness -
Thanks for eveything sir, nice to have you therer +1

Question about Israeli B-17
macelena replied to ojcar's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I think they gunrunned the turrets by ship, but they wouldn´t have been available in the first flight (Europe-Bombing Egypt-Israel trip). I´ll try to look for something EDIT: Checked out Osprey. Photos show no turrets at all, and no mention is done to implements on defensive armament. I would guess that they had to sitck with waist MGs, but pictures don´t show clearly if they really carried them, let alone the type of machinegun. -
X-37B and its Russian Friend...
macelena replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Military and General Aviation
Then it is no secret anymore, is it? Btw, glad to know that new US spacecraft have solar energy. The russians had it since Soyuz. The recovery of Apollo 13 would have been some smooth if they had solar panels. (probably damaged by debris after the explosion, but that´s a chance) and maybe this together with a better capability in terms of air storage/recycling could have kept the Columbia longer aloft while some solution was worked out. I just say that range and endurance should be implemented, despite it is not needed for its original role (wich could need to change) or makes it more expensive. Budget, i guess -
Those PT boat, along with Fletcher class DDs, and Iowa class BBs are the coolest US ships of WW2, no doubt. They should be preserved even if not fit to be visited by the public, just in case someone wanted to make a film about their service. I liked the motto "Iron men in wooden boats". In the early 50s, my grandpa was in the Spanish Navy, bringing imported minesweepers from the US, then serving aboard them in the task of cleaning up mines remaining from our Civil War and WW2 wich used to be a real trouble back then. Hulls were wooden, to prevent activating magnetic mines. They had that motto, but he said it was older than the new age MCM flotilla, good to find out

Afghanistan is still hardcore, isn´t it? I had not seen it, they put it on National Geographic for Iberia some nights, but i either find out late or i´m too busy. Damn

Problem with Mirage Factory F-5E cockpit
macelena replied to exhausted's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I did the adaptation to SF2 of the MF F-5E, couldn´t solve that. Indeed, another member reported that issue, wich i experienced myself. When i did the editing to make it work in second generation sims, it was just to close the gap, i thought someone else could make it work, as it would take somebody with knowledge about cockpits (probably the hardest ability within modding this sim) to solve that, a matter about the wich i have no idea. Other trouble repoted (but wich i didn´t experience) was the rear fuselage being blank, if any trouble with that, please tell me -

I remember another tomcat pilot callsign "Faceshot". He appeared in Speed and Angels. When i first heard it, i thought the was something dirty about it, but indeed, it is explained later that , being drunk, he was shot in the face by a friend. It´s good having friends, you know?
