  1. So, in summary, nearly three years overdue and no communication. Sweet.
  2. McDonnell Douglas F-4E 'Kurnass' - 'Aggressor Flight', No.69 Squadron, 'The Hammers', Heyl Ha'Avir, 1984 The transfer of 35 ex-USAF F-4E's to the Egyptian Air Force under the September 1977 'Peace Pharaoh' agreement saw the Heyl Ha'Avir introduce a dedicated Kurnass Aggressor Flight to give frontline F-15 and F-16 pilots DACM training and an opportunity to develop tactics against potentially hostile F-4's. Entering service in 1981 (as part of an enlarged No.69 squadron) the Kurnass aggressors flew in a variety of schemes and took part in attacks against Syrian anti-aircraft missile batteries in 'Operation Peace for Galilee' in 1982 destroying several SAM sites whilst suffering no losses to enemy action. One of the F-4J 'DLC' skins adapted for the Kurnass.

  7. Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia - 1st Aviation Regiment, Estonian Air Force, 1940 With the kind assistance of Cliff7600. A little real world background - During 1937 and 1938 a surprisingly long list of countries (including Japan!) had requested quotations and delivery timescales for the Spitfire leading the UK Air Ministry to allocate a priority list of 12 countries with Estonia in 3rd place behind Belgium (2nd) and France (1st). Another Baltic State interested in the Spitfire was Lithuania who enquired about purchasing 14 Spitfires but this enquiry was never allocated a priority number and lapsed.

HESA Saeqeh 'Thunderbolt' (Paran) for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of FastCargo's Saeqeh 'Thunderbolt' to give a fictional Parani Saeqeh with markings for the famous Red Lion Fighter Regiment of the Republic of Paran Air Force. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Saeqeh_Pa folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Saeqeh_Pa folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Thanks to FastCargo & Co for bringing us the Saeqeh (FC's original read me is enclosed). And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - 12/06/2020 Version 1 - 17/01/2010
  9. Most of my stuff is disposable and doesn't get saved for too long but in this instance it was lost when I had a complete data loss in September 2016.
  10. McDonnell Douglas Phantom F-4M - 497th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Ubon, Thailand, 1980 During late 1966 with the USA getting more and more embroiled in the Vietnam war it was decided to re-equip several USAFE units with the licence-built British Rolls-Royce Spey powered F-4M so as to release older tactical aircraft such as the F-100D and F-105D for Vietnam where attrition was now a very serious issue. McDonnell Douglas had already brought together a UK sub-contracting team consisting of BAC, Hawker Siddeley, Rolls-Royce (engines) and Shorts with final assembly and flight testing being carried out at St. Louis but, with one eye on the European market, McDonnell Douglas moved final assembly to Brough (North Humberside) with flight testing at Holme on Spalding Moor. This decision came a bit late for the Royal Navy whose F-4K aircraft continued to be assembled and flight tested in the USA but all F-4M's were produced in the UK with all odd production numbers being allocated to the RAF and all even numbers to the USAFE with Lakenheath and Bitburg becoming the first USAFE wings to re-equip with the type. Entering service with the 48th Tactical Fighter Wing based at RAF Lakenheath in England in 1970 the F-4M's received a modest upgrade during 1973-1974 to emerge with the Marconi ARI18228 RWR mounted on the fintip and also gained 'slimer' formation-keeping strip lights. The USAF F-4M's had a relatively long career with USAFE and were eventually replaced by F-15E's during 1990 and just missed out on participation in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Some evocative piccies here - please check them out. http://497niteowls.com/then/ubon-1972/
  11. Curtiss P-40B - 1st Aviation Regiment, Estonian Air Force, 1941 In July 1938 a group of Estonian Air Force officers arrived at the Supermarine works for a technical presentation on the Spitfire Type 300 and, on a later visit, to watch a series of demonstration flights of the Spitfire flown by Supermarine's chief test pilot Mutt Summers. The Estonians left suitably impressed and made an advance payment for 12 Spitfires to Order No. C.186/39. This order was approved by the Air Ministry and a contract between the two governments was finalised on March 2nd, 1939. However, by then the Estonian order had already been made as a third priority on the Foreign Office's list and with war clouds looming Estonia looked elsewhere for a modern fighter aircraft but whilst also keeping the Spitfire order intact. Wasting no time, in April 1939 Estonian Air Force officers made the long journey to the Curtiss-Wright Corporation's main production facilities in Buffalo, New York to look at the Hawk 81A-2 (essentially the P-40B) that had been flying since October 1938 and had recently been purchased by the United States Army Air Corps whose order for 524 P-40's was the largest single order for a U.S. fighter aircraft at the time. With guarantees on prompt delivery (and ahead of the domestic customer) the Estonian government ordered 16 aircraft in May 1939. The first eight P-40B's arrived in Estonia during the early Spring of 1940 and equipped the 1st Aviation Regiment based at Otepää in southern Estonia but could do little to defend the country at the outset of the Soviet invasion on June 16th, 1940 and all Estonian forces were ordered to stand-down on the following day. The remaining eight P-40B's for Estonia were still in the U.S. and were eventually delivered to the Nationalist Chinese Air Force for use by the American Volunteer Group. Skin Credit: Charles

  13. The mating season! I used to see that in SF1 quite a lot but never with one aircraft unpainted (or are you using a black skin for use with Mue's Viewer?).
  14. Well, my IDF P-40 in the downloads section uses Raven's P-40 so it's clearly nothing personal. Things get released at both of the main sites and I'll give them all a whirl. Look at my posts here and you'll see that for yourself. Something being 'unavailable' could only be an issue if I was planning to release it here... and I'm not!
