Great work on this. Apart from being good I learned a new technique from the READ ME too!
  2. Farmer F.1A of No.74 squadron ('The Tigers') Socialist Republic of Britain, 1958.
  3. Farmer F.1A of No.92 Squadron, RAF Germany, 1962. Inspired by a 'what if' profile seen on another site and assisted by Wrench's MiG-19 templates.
  4. View File [Fictional] Dhimari F-4E Phantom McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock F-4E to give a Dhimari F-4E Phantom with markings for; No.1 Squadron - 'The Panthers' No.2 Squadron - 'The Hawks' As this mod uses the early 'short cannon' F-4E I have restricted the service dates to 1968 to 1973 inclusive. At some time in the future I'll get a later Dhimari F-4E sorted. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-4E_Dh folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4E_Dh folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - 21/06/2020 Version 1 - 26/12/2009 Submitter Spinners Submitted 12/26/2009 Category What If Hangar

  7. File Name: [Fictional] McDonnell Douglas Phantom F.7 File Submitter: Spinners File Submitted: 24 Dec 2009 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Aircraft McDonnell Douglas Phantom F.7 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire Phantom F-4E_72 to give a 'what if' Phantom F.7 interceptor-fighter with markings for No.5 and No.11 squadrons based at RAF Binbrook in Lincolnshire as they might have appeared during the 1980's and into the 1990's. I've decided to use some new sounds and effects (still Third Wire stock) but if you haven't got SF2:Europe then you will need to revert back to the bog standard 'jet engine' sound and normal F4 afterburner effects. BACKSTORY Following on from the success of the FGR.4 and FGR.5 the Phantom F.6 was essentially an interim design that used the FGR.5 airframe and Rolls-Royce Sequanna RB.410 series engines but with a slightly improved radar and avionics. The definitive F.7 introduced the more powerful Sequanna RB.450 series engines rated at 22,500lbs thrust with reheat and gave the RAF a superb replacement for the Lightning and the earlier Phantom F.1's. Entering service in 1975 the F.7's equipped eight home-based squadrons, an adversary squadron based at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus and also equipped two squadrons based at RAF Stanley in the Falkand Islands before finally being retired in 2005 INSTRUCTIONS 1. Drop the Phantom_F7 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. Empty the contents of the Weapons folder into your Weapons folder (this simply gives the Skyflash an earlier in service date). 3. Sprinkle the contents of the Decals folder into your main Decals folder (see below to enable the sharkmouth). CREDITS BIG THANKS to TK for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim. Special thanks to Mike D (mppd) for his sharkmouth decal (slightly tweaked here). And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. 8. Possibly... I do like the 'S' that's available here and at C5's site. It's one of those planes that flys nice on HARD, just like the Third Wire Hunter. There's some pictures of 'short nose' Israeli at the foot of page 8 of my 'what if' thread (link below) and on page 9 there's some RAF 'J' and 'S' models, including some dressed in sundowners superb 'Ferris' schemes. Wish I'd kept them!

  11. I've had to do a few OS re-installs recently (don't ask) and this is always one of the first things I download and install. Essential!

McDonnell Douglas Phantom F.6 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire Phantom F-4E_72 to give a 'what if' Phantom F.6 interceptor-fighter with markings for No.19 and No.92 squadrons of RAF Germany as they might have appeared during the mid-1970's through to the end of the 1980's. Designed to give RAF Germany a Lightning F.2A replacement the F.6 had no air-to-ground capability whatsoever and was therefore slightly lighter and had a slightly improved flight performance. The F.6 also introduced the Skyflash missiles planned for the definitive F.7 version and whilst some consideration was given to upgrading the F.6's with the F.7's more powerful Sequanna RB.450 series engines this came to nothing but, nevertheless, the two RAF Germany F.6 squadrons were a vital component of the NATO Central Sector and were only rivalled by the F-15's of the 36th TFW at Bitburg. The F.6's remained in service until 1994. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Drop the Phantom_F6 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. Empty the contents of the Weapons folder into your Weapons folder (this simply gives the Skyflash an earlier 'in service' date). 3. Sprinkle the contents of the Decals folder into your main Decals folder. CREDITS BIG THANKS to TK for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim. 13. Yes. Mike D (mppd) has a pack in the SF1 section covering short and long cannon fairings for the 'E' or you can get a tweaked version in my FGR.5 for SF2 (slightly different shape/fit). I'm hoping to release my F.6 (RAF Germany) and my F.7 (RAF Binrook) within a few days and will include it in there.
  14. Phantom F.7 of No.5 squadron, RAF Binbrook.
  15. Your first combat flight sim...

I can't remember the name but it was some crap 'Sea Harrier' (post-Falklands) game for the C64 and clearly remember the blurb on the box stating that it had input from a Fleet Air Arm Sea Harrier pilot... yeah, right. After that, nothing until MiG Alley but I didn't get to grips with that and, in anycase, my PC was a bit weak. Since then I've tried IL-2, LOMAC and Strike Fighters and have settled into a long-term relationship with the latter.
  16. Phantom F.7 of No.11 squadron, RAF Binbrook. For more on the RAF's Phinal Phantom click on my 'what if' thread below (last page).
  17. You could just use a stock AB effect for now - they're pretty darn good! Or try a re-install of those two fine aircraft and see if the instructions remind you of what goes where (in case that's the problem).
  18. Isn't No.5 the original piston-enginned Provost?
  19. Gloster Grebe T.1 of No.98 squadron, RAF Germany, December 1961. The lovely Soko G2 Galeb by the ID(io)T team masquerading as a British advanced jet trainer.
  20. Hi Saint19 and welcome to Combat Ace! If you've got the combo pack then I recommend that you initially cut your teeth by downloading stuff from the SF2 area of the downloads section and you'll soon pick up on file structures and what goes where. In a short while you'll be up to speed and can then raid the SF1 section because there's virtually nothing in there that can't be brought into your game once you know your way around. And as someone famous on this forum once said, "The Knowledge Base is your friend"
  21. Phantom F.6 of No.19 Squadron, RAF Germany, 1977.
  22. Hugely enjoyable! Very well done.
  23. No problem. If this is half as good as your Tornado F3 then, er, your Tornado F3 will have been twice as good as this...
  24. Yes, just about the same for me. Quad merged and updated to the patch before this one and on W7. I did have a few mods installed (basically, the recent RAZBAM stuff) but nothing that would affect my USAF/USN Phantoms.
