  1. An Israeli P-56 'Zeev' dukes it out with an Egyptian Spitfire, 1948.
  2. Could someone kindly steer me towards a good generic 'stencil' font - one that does letters and numbers. I've got two WW2 USAAC ones but the letters look nothing like the numbers. Also, is there a hebrew font?
  3. Yes, it's worth a visit there and I think that's where I got my USAAF serial font but when doing letters and numbers the numbers are stencilled but the letters are not.
  4. Hi Greendog. There was a TSR.2 in development but 'real life' issues have prevented it in coming to fruition and there is no release date.
  5. An Israeli P-56 patrols the Haifa coastline, October 1948.
  6. Falklands? - No chance. Korea? - Slim chance. Suez? - Fair chance.
  7. Soviet MiG-9 Fargo A little cracker this and well worth a download for your early cold war installs!
  8. I feel another 'scorched earth' day looming....
  9. I like making decals mainly for post-war RAF stuff but I have done a few other bits and pieces. Just recently I've done a few skins by making templates from the skin template and then building up a few simple layers, nothing too detailed but enough to do a one-off 'what if' skin. BTW a big thank you to the modders (like Julhelm and Russo2004, for example) who release templates for their models - very generous!
  10. The prototype Boulton Paul Firenza soars above Mousehold Heath during testing. A little backstory http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/to....html#msg371562

  13. Curtis-Wright Ascender FB.3's of No.56 squadron on patrol over Palestine, April 1948.
  14. How do you know that it's the skin size that's crashing your machine?
  15. View File [Fictional] RAAF RA-5C Vigilante North American A-5D Vigilante for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of Julhelm's RA-5C to create a fictional A-5D Vigilante in service with the Royal Australian Air Force in the 1964-1989 timeline. Some of you might be aware that an Aussie Vigilante was seriously considered in the early 1960's as a replacement for the RAAF's outdated Canberra bombers but the Menzies government eventually chose the F-111C in October 1963. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the A-5D folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the A-5D folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the A-5D_FUEL folder into your Weapons folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to Julhelm for bringing the awesome Vigilante to the SF universe! And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. 17. I'll release the Aussie skin shown above as soon as possible.
  18. RA-5C of No.6 squadron, Royal Australian Air Force.
  19. Vigilante GR.1 of No.14 squadron, RAF Germany.
  20. It's interesting to note that stock SF2 series aircraft do not use the Decals/XXX/XXX format - just like the old series in fact. Adding decals in extra folders for aircraft type and for each individual skin is a good way to get the size of your installs up . For example, if you use an aircraft identication letter (e.g. like the stock RAF_Letter) you have to put it into every decals folder that requires it! So instead of having 26 decals you'd need 52 or 78 or 104 just for one aircraft type! Then you might have ten such aircraft asking for that type of decal ! BTW decals.ini's will quite happily work in a hybrid way going straight to a general Decals folder or to a Decals/XXX/XXX folder.
  21. What have we learned from that? You are not comparing apples with apples!
  22. Well, as mine has some 'match up' issues then please go for it!
  23. Vigilante GR.1's of No.213 squadron, RAF Germany, 1970.
