And the next reverse engineered fighter in China is..........
Gepard replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
Its not a fighter, but also transporters can be reverese engineered. Y-20, a mix between C-17 and IL-76 -

F-21A Lion DLC
Gepard replied to Stary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yeah, have seen them. Nice birds. But i'm not really satisfied with their FM. Thatswhy i would like to see Tigers made by TK. -
I dont feel insulted by Dave. In a discussion with different points of views it can become hard to hard. But this is not personally. I came from a system where only one opion was the correct one. And with my own mind of thinking i had had some troubles in the good (bad) old time. Thatswhy i like the freedom of discussion without to feel the fear in the neck that wrong ears could hear the wrong words. (Enemy is listening! or Stasi is listening! take whatever you want) If i criticise Daves position i must accept his critics on my position. And Vice Versa too. Thats fair enough. Thats is discussion. If someone likes only one mainstream talks, then he goes back to the cold war times. This is the contrapoint of freedom. This i had had long enough and i dont want this back. And if someone believe, that critics on the USA (Israel, Russia, Mongolia, Germany, take whatever you want) is the same like Anti-Americanism (Anti-Semitism, Anti-... äh, is there a word for against Russia??? ) then he should ask himself, wheter he is already out of the trenches of the Cold War. And now lets stop the Anti- somethink OT discussion and come back to the Raptor.

F-21A Lion DLC

Looks very good this plane. But i'm waiting for a F-5E Tiger. This is my dream. -
In my eyes Sum of all Fears was his best book. And Red Storm Rising was his most LOL book, only comparable with soviet WW" books where all sovier soldiers were smart heros while the germans were stupid cowards. Red Storm Rising was the same, but only with smart american heros and stupid soviet fools. Cold War stuff. Hunt for Red October, Cardinal in Kremlin, Without Remourse were great.

LOL. Welcome in the world of Cold War. I'm not on NKs side and will it never be. But my experience with soviet style weapons give me some knowledge which westerners sure not have, and cant have. And my experience says: never underestimate the opponent. Maybe, that i play the role of advokatus diavoli here. The task of an advokatus diavoli is to force the overconfident guys to rethink their positions. To find the mistakes in their ideas, so that they can make a better job. It is better to prepare for the worst case and fight easily, that to prepare for best case and pay with blood.

Okay, the name of the system is "passive radar". Here the link to wiki. http://en.wikipedia....i/Passive_radar Craig. if the NK shot down a F-16 or a F-18 it is not such a propaganda coup like downing a F-22. Who is remembering about the other shot down planes during Kosovo war? No one. But all remembering the shot down F-117. And why? Because it was said to be unvulnerable, because undetectable. And this proved wrong. And now it is repeated with the F-22. It is said to be unvulnerable, because undetectable. Do you want to repeat history, or do you want to learn from mistakes?
-
The best way to go into NK is to fly low. Look at the map. Mountains, mountains, mountains. There is no way to form a radarnetwork that will cover the land so that low flying intruders are detectable. But you can build up a radarnetwork for high altitudes. And there are technics to detect high flying stealth planes. The serbs got it in 1999. The NK could do the same in 2013. Especially if China would give some help. The technic is old. Already in WW2 it was used by the germans from 1943 to 44. They used the transmissions of the british radar network and put recievers at the french coast. Each single reciever was able to detect the bearing of incomming planes. With 3 recievers it was possible to triangulate the exact position of the planes. (If i remember correctly this system was called "Parasit" or something in this way. I will try to find it out.) During Kosovo War 1999 the serbs used a methode which was similar in basics. And they shot down a F-117. If the Chinese or Russians would flood the NK airspace with high energy radar tranmissions the NKs would only need recievers and a simple computer network to find and locate the weak stealth signals. The rest is simple mathematics.

Stealth meant not invicible. It only reduces the Radar reflecting area. But it can eliminate it. Some radar energy will always come back to the radar transmitter. The major problem is to detect this small amount of radar energy. With improved radar power and good computer power it is impossible to detect also Stealth planes. Of course from much smaller range than normal planes. Some guys believe the F-22 is an invincible siver bullit. Nobody and harm it, but it can kill all targets easily. And this wrong believe bears the danger of wrong use of this doubtless good plane. The idea of using JDAMs is such a stupid idea. It bears the risk of a sudden hit and run ambush of NK fighters. Out the ground clutter of the mountain rich terrain, climb in the back of the Raptors and firing some Archers. If the NKs shot down only one Raptor they have the propaganda coup they want to have. Its the same like the F-117 kill over Serbia in 1999. Shot down by outdated but smart used weapons, while the Americans used a smart weapon on stupid way. Its the danger to repeat this mistake. Thatswhy. Hold the Raptors in the back to defend Japan and the rest can do the Vipers, Eagles, Warthogs, Hornets and Tomahawks. No glamour, but efficency.
-
But the NK will not send out their fighters. They will fire a salvo of missiles and thousands of rounds of arti ammo over the border. How well the F-22 will deal with this? Totally fail. The A-10 in contrary could do a very well job. Even if NK would have the S-300PMU SAM it would be unable to defend the contry with it. Korea is mountanious. So a plane can easily hide from radar detection by low flying. F-22 makes a good job in improving the US pride. For Korea it fits like a WW2 battleship. No weapon of NK could really harm an Iowa class Battleship. So lets send it out to NKs shores to deliver a messenge. Dave. Red Flag is a nice thing. It proved, that the F-22 is not as superior as it is shown at Discovery Channel and Fox News. 2007 the french Mirage got it on the radar and shot it down in simulated Dogfight. 2011 the same thing with Eurofighter. As long as the american pilots are aware of the weaknesses of the F-22 and make the best of their strength, then they will surely win. But if they come in circumstances of WVR combat the technical superiority is not more given. Then .... it could end unhealthy. So the solution is to fight only from distance. If you can.

Yeah, was a funny movie. Very old, but very good.

Ich bin momentan nur mit dem Luchs unterwegs. Macht echt viel Freude. 100.000 Credits in einer Stunde sind kein Problem.

Normally spring means the first warm days, flowers, the first leaves on the trees. But not this year. Some impressions from spring in Germany 2013. Spring means: icy roads Spring means: snow on trees Spring means: snowy woods Spring means: snowfall Spring means: hungry birds 1 Spring means: hungry blackbird Spring means: seldom guests

"healthy military rivalry". Thats a good one!

Technically NK is in state of war with SK since 1950. 1953 it was only a ceasefire between NK and China of the one side and the USA lead UN expedition force. SK denied to sign the ceasefire. So both states are in state of war up today. Nothing has changed.

Nice Photos Kulbit Its called Eastern, but we have more snow than on X-Mas. And the weather forecast says, that we will have winter for the next two weeks. Where is the so called global warming when it is needed?! I have never seen before storks in snow.
