SF2 Realism Mod
daddyairplanes replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Homefries has stepped away from SF2 modding, and while I have the colection gathered, it is on my external hd and packed for my reserve training. I should be uploading around the end of the month when i get back to the modders round table, and will take requests for the whole collection thru here. Not much else at this time -

daddyairplanes replied to Geary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
i believe the animation has to be done in the original max file. if TK didnt animate it, your SOL. i'm sure i will get corrected if wrong suspecting what you're upto, why not use the C and D models from FCs superpack instead? the extra lumps and bumps would be justified given the Navy likes internal jammers vs the AF liking podded. extra bulk due to beefing up for carrier ops. not a solution to your question, but hopefully a helpful observation -

daddyairplanes replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
are you talking TMF or Veltro's? as far as i understood all work on TMFs was fakepilot addons Edit: on the above i was talking the Sentry. Dont recall if the KC-135 R is a different complete model or TMF with diff engines -
A new shipyard in Beta testing
daddyairplanes replied to angelp's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Look forward to it. There is so VERY much potential just in the AB212 , which can begat a UH-1N for Tarawas, or USAF spec ops, or anout 25 other users. Yes, i was rather happy to see the model in this thread. You make the first baseline texture, i'll gladly hook you up with the rest. -
Cargo Objects and craters
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
yes just like the paratroops or LAPES objects. it would be nice to at least do a combat offload like this but as it stands they just sit in the cargobay like the tank and truck objects i made for the Galaxy -
INI update to B-707/E-3A/C-135/KC-135/RC-135 pack
daddyairplanes replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Veltro released a CFM powered Sentry last year. started working on it and it back burnered. original model has all RAF appendages but it was easy to remove the wingtips to make a E-3F and the refuel probe to make a Saudi E-3. is that what you are talking about for newer versions? also have a pod (via fakepilot) for the newer radar on the TF33 powered Sentries but it doesnt fit Veltros model. lookin to redo the Sentry skins and finish Veltros bird anyhow. i have training for two weeks starting next week so out of the loop but evening very free for modding and as said want to complete the skins. want me to shoot you the work i did so far for ini and possible chin fairings work? -

daddyairplanes replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
as i have read on it the TF33 / JT3D engines had thrust reverse capability while J57 did not. the KC-135E came about from putting better components from retiring 707s (like JT3Ds) onto the KC-135A fleet but mainly the ANG AFRES fleets as they operated from shorter civilian fields and had alot of noise complaints generated compared to mil fields. -

also use for KC-135E not A. E model went to ANG and Reserve units given that many of those pilots flew commercial on the side and could convert to using thrust reverser faster. otherwise very awesome. as always thank you sir! -

JA-37 Viggen anywhere?
daddyairplanes replied to skyknight0721's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Well there has been a trend that is seeing the exclusive to DAT pool of aircrsft dwindle. Thought someone had aViggen working ip here in house? -
Why? Everything has its time. As a target drone the Phantom replaced the Sabre for the Navy and the F-102 in the Air Force. While I'd love to have Phantoms Phorever, the QF-16 offers a more modern target, about as much of a leap ahead as the Phantom was for the planes it replaced.

Or escort them. OOOOR send fighters to stop the opfor interceptors inbound. Fighter jocks need something to do other than take photos and make silly movies set in San Diego 1986.....
