Canada formally scraps F-35 deal
daddyairplanes replied to Atreides's topic in Military and General Aviation
well their legacy Bugs are getting long in the tooth so they prob need something sooner than later anyhow -
picked up the Dec 2012 copy today only to read in the front they won't be selling print magazines anymore. Getting a months old copy of this mag made my last three deployments more tolerable so kinda bummed to see it go. guessing it will still be available online for awhile tho. now i gotta double down on efforts to find another copy of the Oct 2009 issue...........

No Santa sleigh?
daddyairplanes replied to thodouras95's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
probably for reasons such as your screenie. if made it would need 1000% effective ECM, chaff and flares like the B-52 pack has, and Genies reworked with Amraam radar/guidance package to take care of those kids on the naughty list tryin to get a guns kill on ol Saint Nick! thrust vectoring for the reindeer would be nice too. -
I can state categoriclly...
daddyairplanes replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
oh i will defineatly make use of this. not so good for USAF Phantoms, but will be great for Naval Phantoms. just laying out folders for prep work i have at least 8 variations of USNGrey per Aircraft and 7 of those! times 15MB per skin and i feel yer pain WBS. -

agreed with the Super Bug. as for capabilities, when is the last time the Canadians went somewhere without the US? although its a ding to the national pride, two engines plus range makes more sense for the air soveriegnty mission with their territory, plus the coalitions they will likely be a part of overseas will see US stealth kick in the door so to speak on day one, with the Canucks following behind once the most dangerous EADS are down. seems to be the trend last few wars anyhow, why not tailor the budget to that fact? -

daddyairplanes replied to Panama Red's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2

so if i understand this right, i could take one USN/USMCGrey for F-4's, then just have the different textureset (to establish usn67, usn 70 etc) and decal inis in what would be the usual skin folder? if so that would be hyper sweet for my naval Phantoms i assume a drastically diff skin like TPS would still be all in the skin folder under these circumstances -

hmmmm that would take the useful life of Navy SPADs to i think round 68 or 69. last missions flown were by EA-1Fs though the USAF, VNAF used theirs a few more years. gotta look up my book when i get home to be sure though -

if i read it right its just the controller and some other computer controling. still why teach how to use a real tank when you can just use your Call of Duty thumb skills! -

Tunnels
daddyairplanes replied to RogerSmith's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
well (and forgive me i havent gotten KAW anything yet other than Sabres and Invaders) tunnels would be useful for trains and roadways. but as Wrench said it would also make a big hit on framrate. -

or you can clean your folder out and make more room in your pic upload folder. go my settings in your account and select manage attachments. then i would get rid of anything over 6 months old or major files that could be released in D/l thread. thank you thou BTW, in looking this up to help you i realized i'm close to my limit and need to clean up. -

wrench has said many of the his terrains would need SF2 to work. outside of that its just something interesting to putz with. last part is my two cents. i'm primarily in SF2E and most other versions were actually bought to support that game (carriers, P-51s, Meteors etc)
