Did this ever happened?
daddyairplanes replied to amariani's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
the Navy did plenty of one offs with experimental or aggressor schemes. yes i said aggressor even though its a VF-31 line bird, sometimes they'd paint one up for a known exercise plus frankly these days i'd trust the authenticity of a grainy photo over something crystal clear (and generated in DCS)... -

cool! i think thats brings us to two that served on the "other side" (not trying to be rude, most of the site member military veterans of that age are from the US/NATO side) to let you know, its better etiquette when quoting to not include the pic, outside of extreme circumstances but thank you for the corrections and the labels. its always good to get guidance from those that have been there and done that -
CA Financing: Collaborative Solution

here's the problem with that the modders share things they wanted to see in game. rarely do they make things solely because others want them (and that most often happens on the mega collaborations like ODS30AE) if others like it. yay! if not, well they still created something in game that they wanted to see. -
Poll - Updated C-130 release
daddyairplanes replied to Dels's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
i voted update packages and release new ones as block 3 you could have the updates seperate within the download for past users, as well as updating the file for new users that come along this pic probably explains it better than my writing does but that way all the legacy Herk users wont have to move a sh.. ton of data to update their birds in theory saves teh site moving alot of data as well -

View File Creek Klaxon '86: Air National Guard Deployment to Ramstein AB 1986 Creek Klaxon '86: Air National Guard Deployment to Ramstein AB 1986 This mod is a simple skin and decal set to represent Creek Klazon; an ANG deployment from April 1986 through March 1987 while the resident 86th Tactical Fighter Wing was transitioning from the F-4E to the F-16C Block 25. Crews from many ANG squadrons rotated out over the course of the year, while three units sent three aircraft each to support the Zulu Alert interception mission. These airframes came from California's 194th FIS, Minnesota's 179th FIS and North Dakota's 178th FIS, all with air defense missions in the United States and all donating F-4D aircraft in the colorful Air Defense Gray paint scheme. Also included in this mod is terrain mods to allow pairs take offs at Ramsein AB, and a mod to plug into NATO Fighters 5 so that you can fly the 1986 campaign with this unit (they were historically there during the timeframe) Included skins and decals for the stock F-4D new load and hangar screens for same terrain mods to allow pairs take offs at Ramstein AB (Rends terrain and stock GermanyCE) campaign and terrain mods to add a Creek Klaxon campaign in NF5 Required SF2 Europe for use of terrain or NF5 mods and F-4D_78 aircraft Installation Basic aircraft: add contents of "2 mod folder" to your preferred instal. allow overwrites Pair take off: add contents of "add to stock GermanyCE terrain" to your preferred instal's terrain folder. similar if you are using Rends Germany terrain. allow overwrites NF5: add contents of "2 mod folder" and "add to NF5 instal" to your NF5 instal. allow overwrites Credits Thirdwire original F-4D_78 aircraft cSomers611 hangar screen, much research assistance cSomers611, nightshadeP/R, Stratos test team daddyairplanes skin and tga work, basic research into topic(that lead to desire to do it I hope you enjoy flying this mod as much as i did creating it Kevin unruh aka daddyairplanes 31 Dec 2024 ************************************************************* This is freeware; it CANNOT be distributed unless permissions are granted by myself. daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
so i have a skin, where every tail is different. i did individual tail marks for each of 9 airframes - it works fine player selecting and generates markings for the 1st and 2nd wingmen, third wingman comes up blank despite being assigned a serial. - ai flights only generate markings for the lead, all wingmen come up blank - i though it might be a game issue, but stock skins have serials for every wingman in the flight - issue occurs with decal randomization on and off any ideas on whats going on? -

daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
all good to go. was gonna say it, but went and double checked before posting could it have something to do with the small numbers list (only 9 airframes)? the only way ive found to prevent it is to have un numbered tail_L and tail_Rs as well. in this case a copy of the Duluth tail without a serial num. but then it defeats the purpose if you get an ai flight of 8 with 5 Minnesota birds when only 3 were sent....... -

well now royally wtf.... i made a few edits, most specifically removing the randonization lines from the textureset in my dev install its still screwy as shit. but loading in NF5 it works fine now (after changing the aircraft ini back from read only!) -

daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
ok, not exactly the issue here load up any other mission, any other aircraft. in mission editor, create a flight to escort them. make that flight 2 or 4 F-4D_78s, with teh Klaxon skin, picking own numbers isnt an issue, and in the second one it seems the comp went to whatever it defaults for your F-4D -

its the Creek Klaxon Phantoms in teh same PM. specifically, it seem stock F-4D_78 skins generate serials just fine, but modded ones not so much (noticed this with yakarov79's ANG pack as well, where lead has a serial num but rest do not) gets weirder as i tried plugging it into NF5, and it comes up in game as a SEA camo (despite the Creek Klaxon skin being selected) yeah disregard NF5 bit, my dumba$$ shoulda remembered to make the aircraft ini readable again....
