I agree, it shosuld be fellow arabs, the Arab League, to sort this out; namely Saudi Arabia and the UAE have the forces and equipment and more, the credability. Just like it should be the African Union sorting out Zimbabwe. Alas, the killing will continue while the bigger nations argue on, just like Rwanda. Until it comes to a point like Kosovo where the "west" will have no option but to intervene. Personally I wouldn't want a Chineese/Russian intervention, but if it'd stop the killings... as with the rest of the region, one big fcuking mess.

Update #1 for SF2E ODS
Mikeone replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
eBurger; Just a quick question, when I select Campaign on the main menu, the game crashes - ctd. All the rest of the Mod works; single mission (both create and load). I followed the read-me in creating a whole new install; SF2:E with Exp pack, also updated to the latest patch (April '12). Just to check if it was the install that was mucked up, I redownloaded and created a fresh new install - same occured. I've applied the hotfix, but no change. I'd really appreciate any assistance, as I so want to enjoy the teams' hard work. Thanks -
Venting and Ranting

For me, what makes SF2 worth it, is the people. You people who create models, terrains, campaigns and other things - I think SF is a game that heavily relies on its patrons and open access to keep it interesting and afloat. There are 2 markets - like the model kit market; - Casual (usually younger) players who were not aware of the huge community, buy it expecting the vanilla product. - More experienced, people who build things and strive to push it further and further and add to it. The latter is what really got me hooked; that a wide mix of people from a wide mix of countries give up a great deal of their own time free-o-charge to create a great deal of content for them and (inportantly) others to enjoy. Especially a few brit airmen on ops atm x) If TK gives up the older situation of supporting/working with the community then thats his perogative... I'd imagine it'd be shooting himself in the boot, but maybe he's just gunning for the casual market now? Its the lads and ladys on here that make SF worth it, not TK; but it is his business and income, its for him to decide on the future; for better or worse. -
What the hell is wrong with the UK?!
Mikeone replied to SayethWhaaaa's topic in Military and General Aviation
As a current serviceman of the light blue, I can say that this has been ranted about before, long before, the title of this should be, why the hell has it taken so long for it to come to be posted here! lol And it aint just with the RAF, heres an idea from a few freinds in Lakenheath; USMC is top-heavy, and with US debt skyrocketing, they think the USMC should follow more the model of our (UK) Marines...especially as the cost of a squadron of F35s alone would fund much more worth in marine troopers.... sacrilidge! lol Heresey! People on here would scream blue murder, lol but an idea that has as much standing as the one linked above. ....so this sorta thing/argument isn't new  especially since here each service is such a big sacred cow. Things would really have to be in dire straits for it to be seriously considered... And even then, the only way a Merge can be anyway sucessful is following the model the Canadians used, with a whole arms, dark blue, light blue and green, into one command, CAF. Also, BAe, Lockheed, Boeing...all their kit gets cursed at in the hanger...lol from the J hercs giving me sleepless nights and hatred for all things Lockheed, to screaming blue murder at the Thales/Marshalls kit bodged onto them! Libyan Mig shot down over Benghazi
Mikeone replied to SayethWhaaaa's topic in Military and General Aviation
To answer the Question about AWAC support, we (RAF) have had up to 3 E3D Sentry's stationed in Cyprus with tanker support for a while now, scoping out movements in Lybia and aiding the evacuation/SF assests. Not to mention the sneaky Nimrod R1 and possible Sentinel R1 support. -

I noticed this; http://www.yankeeairpirate.net/YAP01.html YAP2, I've tried contacting them but the support email address's dont work, so I'd like to ask you gents here; is it still available? I mean its been a while since WoV came about, and it looks like a good bit of fun. cheers

UK May Borrow F-18s For Carriers; F-35Bs May Be Scrapped
Mikeone replied to Erik's topic in CombatACE News
But you have to consider the cost of training would skyrocket compared to a VTOL platform... and thats a key consideration over here, "its easier to stop then land than land and stop"...the RAF and RN pilots didn;t need to religiously train and practis cat and trap techniques like our cousins over the pond. Also VTOL is a very useful feature...whats crazy is the USMC's plans to have squadrons by late 2011/12, lol that wont happen
