View File VF-143 World Famous Pukin' Dogs This is a skin for the F-4B that I adjusted to fit the F-4J for use with the LBII campiagn in the stock WOV campaign listing. Original was downloaded from Fist Of Fleet, but I think it was a Column 5 skin. All credit that I was able to give is on the Readme. Special thanks to Cliff11!! Cliff taught me how to make the changes necessary to move the skins around. You might have noticed his last two skins in this folder. Thanks Cliff!! This skin was originally posted for the F-4N. If you look at it, the .bmp's were originally for the F-4B but the decals were changed to the N. I was tooling around with this before I left for work today. The skin can be made to fly on the B with very little mods!! ~Tax

Hi all! My question today is fairly simple I guess. I am trying to edit my campaigns insofar as squadron service. I know that VF-114 served in Vietnam for 5 sperate cruises and I wanted to put them into the Campaign. I started snooping and found that I could get the squadron to come up as an option on the main screen for squadron selection in the campiagn, but I can't find the list of squadron values. I thought that it would be sequential like the skins, but my first attempt resulted in an O-1 campaign that didn't load since it's not flyable for me. I also thought about adding a Marine Corps land A-6 squadron. How do I find the list of squadron values so I can add squadrons to the campaigns? Thanks again everyone. Um, nope. I am talking about not being able to select the year on stock single missions. I will go ahead and install the patch to upgrade to the final version. I had hoped to fly multiplayer, but no one seems to be doing it lol. Know any squads? I'll let you know what happens after the patch install. thank you for the help! ~Tax

Oh boy lol.... v07.10.06 of WOV. I am not saavy enough to have gotten into terrains, so I am running the stock WOV terrain. I used to be able to dogfight with the Hornet and the FJ-4, but now that you bring that up I wonder if it is because I am not running the last patch. I stopped short because I read that the v07.10.06 has faster upload times and is more popular because of that. Lastly, there is no option for selecting years when I select these planes. I have always thought that was wierd too, but maybe that's something to do with it also? This game is very confusing to me lol. I enjoy the fact that you can mod the bejesus out of it, I just wish I was better at doing it! ~Tax

Ok, maybe you all have noticed that I am not so good with this game yet lol. My new problem is that I can fly downloaded planes, but there are never any enemy a/c. Even the F-15A from Column 5, when I select MigCAP I get no enemy a/c, and it states that I have accomplished my mission as soon as it loads up. I have the same problem with every plane I have downloaded except the F-5 and the F-14. Anyone else come across this before? Another weird one: Has anyone else downloaded the A-10 from Column 5? If so, has anyone noticed it's tendency to roll to the right a little? I thought my joystick was outta whack, but all of the other planes seem to be just fine. ~Tax

NM, I see it was uploaded already. I jumped in and took her around the block, campaign style, and promptly shot down 2 MiG-21's and nailed the carrier landing. Awsome!! Thanks a bazillion Cliff! ~Tax

Hi! I posted a few weeks ago asking about a particular skin I would like to have changed. I downloaded Mitch's excellent VF-103 skin for the F-4D. I was wondering if I could ask someone to put it on an F-4J for me. Anyone have any free time for a little project like this? Thanks in advance!! ~Tax

Yeah, it's kind of a hassle eh? On IL2 yu can put skins where ever you want lol. If I do rename the bitmap files, will the skin work in the J or B model, or do I need to recruit someone to take this skin and work it onto a B or J file? Thanks for you answers guys, I love communal help! ~Tax

Hi all!! I downloaded a sweet navy skin, but lol it's for an F-4D. How can I make different skins available for different a/c models, in this example for the B or J Navy version. Taxman

I figured it out!! The problem was in the sp051506.exe. There was a corrupt file somewhere, probably during the download since I re-downloaded it from the same site. I am all patched up and playing and am most excited! ~Tax

Hi all!! Since you have all been so helpful with getting me to enjoy this game series, I thought I would drop another one on y'all!! I recently ditched Vista 64 and put an eval copy of Windows 7 for my operating system. It runs very smooth and fast, mods are up and going fine, no real issues. Well, almost... When I try to patch, my game crashes. Any patch, that is, except the Oct 2008 one (service packs/patches, sorry, I'm an IL2 kid!). I have tried everyhting I know to do, including a "clean vanilla instal" as suggested by one of the super members (USAFMTL I think), and every time I load the game up, it crashes. The main screen will come up, but if I go from there it dumps. Also, the stick version for my disk is 9.24.04, so maybe I am beginning the patch install with the wrong one? I am starting at the p052506 one. Any ideas? Thanks all!! you make this game fun and I wish I could repay, but alas, I can only bring you problems.....lol :) ~11th_AF_Taxman

Hi All!! I am still fairly new to this sim, so could someone answer a few questions for me please? I am able to skin planes now, which is super exciting news actually. I have been downloading like a crazy person from all sorts of sites, but mainly here, Fist Of Fleet, and Column 5. There aren't any skins for this plane on Fist of Fleet, and only a few on C5. Most of the skins on here seem to be for a Mirage Factory F-8E. I was wondering if the Mirage Factory 'Sader is the same as the game one, and/or will the skins for the Mirage Factory one fit for the game stocker? Thanks everyone!! ~Taxman
