I've done a number of 2 seater campaigns. As of yet not had a bombing mission. Mostly recon. Shot down 6 EIII with my Be2c before going down behind the line.

Thanks for the report Gous! You have taken things one step further than I have and I am greatly encouraged. I will report my results soon and include pics of my hat. One thing about the hat is, I think you can make you hat and then measure the distances between the lights to input to the program. Rather than conforming to a preset formula. This was a hangup for me for awhile. My camera picks up three I/R light points and no background light. I removed the I/R filter and have placed a penny sized piece of 3.5" floppy disk over the lens. Program responds to the light source with the head image moving. It is now just a matter of soldering my connections. So very close.

Yes, enjoy it to pieces. I feel I have just started and I have so much to do yet. For instance I long to fly with Rickenbacker and Luke. I have not really done so yet as I want to continue that anticipation. I am flying the early planes and the less "glorious" planes first. I have placed my faith in the developement team and have not been disappointed. When they make updates or addons I will be here and thankful. They have done the right thing all along IMHO and I know their love and interest will bring us more in the future. It's their world I just play in it and boy, do I use my imagination. Here is an example. I don't know if Be2c's did much low level dogfighting but I can and I did because I wanted to.

with single light point freetrack is 2 DOF, with 3 light points it is 6 DOF

I like this thread as I learn I am not alone in my situation. Sometimes I have a great DiD careers started and ready to report to Siggi's board and I say to myself "just one more flight before bed". I do know better than to tempt fate. Of course I die in that "one more flight". All those unconfirmed claims and the flight time, gone. Sad.... and I lost my good wingman somehow between the base I had to put down at and our home field. I was shocked to see him KIA and this after I indicated he was witness for my last claim. I don't look for fairness in this sim as there was no fairness in the war. I wonder if that is not just true about daily life. Thanks you guys for sharing and I do think this sim has become truely great and something very special.

Yes it is very pleasant and constructive. Aren't we the happy bunch though? We have our wonderful sim and new forum. We are feeling the "love" I quess. Enjoy it, for someone who is not so happy will come along and try to piss on our picnic. And that is not an invitation!

tttiger, Your last point has been corrected already with a hotfix. Pleas go to the OFF homepage and download. They will then behave themselves.

I think you can left click and drag them to where you want them. Same with the TAC.

Siggi, I am 110 real and have 2 confirmed but cannot in good conscience submit to the board as my current Did pilot seems to be immortal for some reason. I will create a new pilot and see if he is superman as well. I mean tot ist tot, ja?

Thanks Siggi, hard copy is now on file. Will report soon. Checked my settings. I now have 110 realism. Is this what we want? I wonder do we want normal or hard weapon strength now after latest patch? Just want to be on the same page.

Siggi, thanks so much for this whole aspect of our communal interaction. I look forward to particapating. I appreciate that you posted #6 in this thread as I could print the black type for easy reference. I wonder if you could post the DID qualifying parameters here as well so they can be printed hard copy for reference when we check our workshop settings. Not all of my pilots are DID and I need a checklist.

Thanks OBD for your continued hard work and support. It's hard to please everyone but you try. I want to say that I had been flying the Roland CII previous to 1.26 and had a job of it to reach an altitude of 4000 ft.. Played first Walfisch mission after 1.26 and found I could reach 12000 ft. without so much struggle. I appreciate that. Now I can cross the front and stand a chance of surviving. I think this is a patch fix. Regardless, than you.
