  1. Hey, Hauksbee, nice to see you! Is that picture real? And what does it show/where and when was it taken?

  7. Parky, let me return that compliment - your advice around here about computer-questions was always the most competent I've seen. Funny thing: Tony sent a copy of OFF to me, when nobody else seemed to be willing. So, in a long turn, it also came from you then, Parky. Thank you both for introducing me to OFF. One of the best things that ever happened in my life!
  8. Hey, Parky! If we remember you? Well, we are quite old already - flyers from 1917 - but we have a good memory, Sir! Hey, I had been wondering where you are, but now I'm glad you are here again! UncleAl had trespassed beyond one warning too many and was banned. I think he can still read (Hi, Unc!), but not write. Or wait - maybe he was still allowed to the "Political Debates" department. However - whatever it was that you had; I hope it's cured. Come round more often!
  9. Wonderful shots, Adger! Which lake is that in picture 5, where you attack a German airfield? That's a great landmark!
  10. Chart updated - see post #1.
  11. Jim, you have more than deserved a personalised skin with all your help! Tell me your ideas (colours, symbols, letters, emblems, arms - whatever) for an Albatros D.II, D.III, D.V or D.Va - and I'll make you an own skin.
  12. Yes, I can only encourage everyone to download the freeware IRFANVIEW, and browse through the countless skins in WOFF! http://www.irfanview.de/ The skins are here: OBD Software > WOFF > OBDWW1 Over Flander Fields > campaigns > CampaignData > skins
  13. It was just one example - I gave up on alcoholic drinks completely, ten years a go. So I understand that. It could be something completely different. An expensive set of water- or oil colours. A trip to a place you always wanted to see, but which is far away and expensive to travel to. Or just a wonderful menue in the best restaurant around. Just think of it, while you suffer through that again. After that, you'll have deserved it. Good night for now, Tony!
  14. Wow - is that 1:1 / real life size? That must be fun, to take part in such a project! And nice to see a photo of you, by the way! I first thought, WINDSOCK Datafiles - but from what I found, they only have plans from WW1 planes. Next thing you could try: write to the ROYAL AIR FORCE MUSEUM London & Cosford http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/ ...or to the DeHavilland Museum, Salisbury Hall http://www.dehavillandmuseum.co.uk/history.html
  15. TO ALL DiD CAMPAIGN FLYERS Achtung! Tenshion, please! Gentlemen, in the poll about the awards and medals, a majority of 9 to 4 voted for - the more differenciated and more realistic awards system; and for - the more realistic numbers, resulting from the special way of counting victories Now I am very happy and very proud, that I received a confirmation from our forum veteran RAF_Louvert, that he will do the medals and awards valuation, according to charts he had first published back in 2011, and which were aiming for a more realistic awarding system. I think you all will agree, that we now know the awards in the best possible hands! Thanks a lot, Lou!
  16. Perhaps you should think of a wonderful reward for the time after the torture is over. Something you would normally never allow yourself to buy, due to the high cost. Like a very special old bottle of whisky, at the range around 100 $. And then you could sit in the evenings and sip a dram or two!
  17. I'm here, Tony. Often sit up late at night, listening to some music over headphones; seeing through the forum - and often thinking of you. Beat it!
  18. As Jim_Attrill already said in the other thread today we seem to have finest FLYING WEATHER AGAIN. Be careful, everyone, you may have got a bit rusty! All the best, and come back in one piece!
  19. When this single Nieuport pilot decided to leave his safe altitude and his two comrades to attack us, we had a fine furball in the next second. Flak crews did their best to take part in the party. I just had to pause, and switched through all our near planes, to collect a complete picture of this one moment over Marchais airfield, in July 1917. Robert, you wanted to see Jasta 15 skins in action - here they are, my friend! Just right-click on the image and on "show graphic", to see enlarged.
  20. When we saw, that one flyer* had achieved 11 kills in only two sorties, we realised that results like that would not be reflecting the reality of those days of early air combat. So a different system for the counting of kills was installed. (*not the flyer's fault at all, so I won't name him here) Now we also have abother problem, which results more or less from the first one: medals may be awarded also much sooner than they would have been in real life. Now, RAF_Louvert had made a chart back in 2011, with more realistic time-sets for awarding the medals of all nations, which we could use - or not. Some would like it less complicated; other would like it more realistic. What do you think? THE VOTERS WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS IN THIS POLL - JUST VOTE HOW YOU REALLY FEEL ABOUT IT
  21. Rules for the counting of "Victories", and latest chart added in post #1.
  22. (Copy from the other forum) Eleven victories in two sorties were reported - however grand that may have been, MudWasp - it makes me think about additional rules. What I wanted to create, is a campaign which is all about realistic flying and realistic fighting or withdrawal, and 11 victories in 2 sorties are not ANYwhere near that. Not your fault, MudWasp. I'm not sure, what the max. victories were in a single sortie in WW1 - someone with better knowledge may come in here - but I know that even a "doublette" (two victories in one sortie) was rather rare, even among the aces. If we would leave this as it is now, the hunting for dozens of victories would start again, and I am not willing to have this in the DiD Campaign. We all know that WOFF sometimes allows that to happen, and of course it is not a player's fault if it does. He may even have a fierce fight, where it's "me or them" - where he must shoot it out, cause they don't let him get away. But we must find a way then, to get to more realistic numbers. What I am thinking about is this - we could count per sortie: 1 - 3 victories = 1 victory 4 - 6 victories = 2 victories and more than 6 victories count as 3 victories - more won't be accepted. What do you others think about this proposal?
  23. A big "Thank you" for this beauty, Lou! If my second pilot should also fall, I will try it near the North Sea with LEVEL A flying by real map. Your fine work should come handy there!
