It isn't the typewriter fonts, Mike. Hasse Wind meant the pre-printed type; the typesetter's letters. Today, they are Laserprints, sharp and clear. Back in those days, type letters were made of lead and put together for print. After some printings, the letters wore off slightly (too high printing pressure was one reason). Now I need a way for Photoshop or Corel Draw, with which I can make any type look slightly old and very subtly damaged. I haven't found one yet.

Yeah, okay, Hasse Wind. If you know an easy way to make typo text look like those prints - slightly worn off letters - then I will be gratefull. I tried several things in Photoshop, but none was acceptable.

I tried to translate it: After shooting down the first D.H.9, I attacked the Geschwader again, which was on it's return flight. I shot the middle D.H.9 first stinking (smelling), and right after that burning. The blaze partially decreased and re-fanned again. The crash happened in the area south of Metz.

Did you try IL-2's Pacific Fighters (don't know the exact name)? I found that was very good. I loved the "Frank" - best fighter to tango with Hellcats, Lightnings and Corsairs. The George is devastating like a Focke-Wulf with cannons - but has very limited amount of ammo. Thanks for the tip, Bullethead - don't know "Aces High" at all yet.

Well, we had that debate before, but I'll repeat myself once more: If you watch the movie without even thinking it was about MvR (who was a totally different character), you can see an interesting picture about some German Jasta, maybe. Still though, these actors are more "Flyboys" than RL Prussian officers of those days. I liked most of the flying and air combat scenes (except the impossible dives with the Albatros, and some too fast tempo here and there).

Barkhorn: The Hien was often mistaken for a Bf-109 by American pilots in the Pacific No wonder - it had the same Daimler Benz engine, maybe a license-built one.

This is not meant to be or to become a political thread. I only wonder every late evening, when I watch the main evening news, if there is anywhere on earth a place with no economic problems. It seems, that a lot of money was burnt in the world wide financial crisis, and more may follow, before it can get reformed. Even the big USA have many existencial problems; Greece is deep in the red numbers, but also Poland, Ireland, and most other European countries. Germany, although still regarded as a stronghold in Europe, has just made the biggest new indebtedness in it's history. Everone everywhere in the world seems to be trying to make ends meet. And so I often wonder, when I'm sitting there on my sofa: can you all sleep? Sometimes, I don't even want to see the news anymore, and then I still keep watching them. And it may sound strange: but to see, that it seems to be the same almost everywhere; that you all may have the same problems, where ever you live, comforts me a little bit. Hope you won't get that wrong. I wish you all a good night - and a sound sleep, despite of all that.
