I've decided to try different graphics drivers to get better results in OFF. Which nvidia driver seems to work the best for you? Also, when you target your nvidia control panel to "select a program to customize", which exe do you target? offmanager.exe or cfs3.exe? Thanks! BuB

I changed the settings to 8x AA and 16x AF and got less shimmering, but it's still there. Has anyone got OFF working with no shimmering/swimming landscape?

I took some screenshots with 16x AA (combined...an option in nHancer) and 16x AF. I'm seeing lots of shimmies/swimming. I'm wondering if this is because of the drivers, or my settings somehow...? I dont remember the shimmies before I installed nHancer...

yes, try the rollback driver first. If that gives you problems, then do the system restore. either way, it should be painless.

I saw a copy of Avalon Hill's KingMaker in there (the newer edition)! Wow, did I spend a lot of time playing that game! Great collection of AV games..Rich. War, etc. So much fun....more about the guys being together than anything else... :)

CJ--just out of curiousity, have you compared the sound from your audigy and your multimedia card? I wouldnt be surprised at all if you couldnt tell the difference...this from a guy who's had a SB in every system I've built....even tho my mb's come with pretty good onboard sound. 3 sound capable devices on your rig is right out of the movies: "Please sir, may I have some more? And also some more troubles with my sound cards?"

Badgerboy, make sure you make a system restore point before you update your drivers. I didnt have any issues with teh current driver, but some have. The last driver update (before this one) caused me some serious problems, and I wish I'd have made a restore point. Always a good idea before any drivers or hardware updates. You might check the graphics settings home boy posted a while back. condor also listed them in a thread where I was looking for nvidia specifics. I have your same card, and see lots of damage :warning2:

wow... havent had driver conflicts since dos. ...or at least none that I know of :o hrmmm. 2 sound cards? is one on your mb and the other an actual card (sorry for skimming, maybe I missed that), or do you have 2 actual cards? In the sim that shall never be named, FF has caused a lot of FPS problems for some....not for me though. I have the same stick, just the usb version. When you get it loaded, check your fps with ff enabled, then disable FF and see what your fps are... and if there's an issue there, then it likely goes back to your sound card(s). disabling the mb sound is probably the better choice and using sound and game port on your card, rather than sound from the mb and game port from the card.

RC-- I'd be interested in that list :) I have no idea where to begin. Also, how much was it at game stop? I prefer a hard copy whenever I can get one...GoG.com has it for dl at $10 Amazon for $13 or so after shipping.

What is the AAA addon? I saw on good old games (gog.com) that they have il-2 1946 (which is everything all together?) for $10 for dl. Or it's $10 on Amazon, plus shipping.

Sorry for the off topic post, but I very much respect the community's opinion here. I'm very happy with OFF, especially having been a WW1 plane fan for 33 years or so. So while I have lots to fly and learn about, I keep seeing references (and I mean MANY references) to IL-2 (or IL-2 1946) as a flight sim of great value. Simple question: Is this worth buying now, after it's been out so long? Tougher question: I've also been very fond of the pacific WW2 planes. Would IL-2 be a good alternative, or is there something better out there? and finally, How are the grahics? Multi-player? Something tells me that I should just be happy with OFF single player, and a not to be mentioned multi-player. I would like a faster plane and more manoeverability tho... Thank you for any input! Hmmm. Did you reset your cfs3 settings, and also your nvidia control panel settings to what they were before? Mine looks great....no shimmies, no jaggies at all. Performance is better in OFF and a ww1 sim which shall not be named. What are your settings at now? ATI--blecht! Nvidia--mo betta

Glad to hear it's running Stapme! Good thing you didnt give up too soon, or you would have missed interacting with the fantastic OFF community. Now....get up in the air!

I loaded the new drivers and find that everything is running great. I have the same card Creaghorn. I reset all my graphics in cfs3 the way I had them before (HomeBoy's setup), and it looks terrific....better and faster I think. Colors seem to be richer. Havent had much time in OFF with the new drivers, but did a brief test.... YMMV

Nvidia just released a new set of drivers....I'm wondering if these 190.38 drivers work well with OFF. Anyone tried them yet?

I'm running 181.22 drivers. Looks great, works great. I tried 182.5 and 186.18 and had issues with OFF, but not with another not to be named ww1 flight sim. yes, I'm wondering about the 190.38 drivers as well. It adds more features and bug fixes... I'd like to try them for the not to be named sim, but I dont want to mess with my graphics settings again in OFF if it's just going to be another problem like the 182/186 series.... opinions?

I was on the tail of a spad XIII and hitting him pretty good, smoke (no flames) coming from his engine, and then all of a sudden, at about 4000 feet, the pilot jumps out! It was unmistakeable. Couldnt pause it fast enough to get the screenshot, and when I did, couldnt find the pilot below me, lost in the scenery. It was absolutly a pilot, looked like a big brown coat. However, when I zoomed in on his cockpit, I saw a pilot in there (probably just the default image, with or without a pilot). has anyone ever seen an ai pilot jump?

I'm finding that I get the white triangles when turning my head quickly with TrackIR, only on sunny days. If there are clouds or even mist, no problems whatsoever. YMMV
