  1. Just be sure to use a primer before the silver, then the silver won´t chip for sure, only the acrylic will. And of course, the shiniest the silver is, the better. And give it time to cure, a week or so...... Anastasios.
  2. To be honest Siggi, I'm not really sure! It's either Oak-A or Oak-B, had a photo in front of me and tried to do the best. Rickitycrate, if you weren't so far away, I could offer a paint for your busts. I love training on figures that I don't have to pay for, even if I have to send them back when they're ready! Anastasios
  3. Yes, I used powder. The secret with chipping is that the silver is actually enamel but the green is acrylic! Acrylics, although they get a grip on shiny silver, can be chipped easily! Try it sometime, it works. Anastasios
  4. Well, pretty much the original one!! After the primer, I painted the whole model with an Aluminium from SnJ and polished it. After that applied the Green/Grey and decals, weathered and then chipped the paint away with my nail. looked pretty convincing to me!! Your Jap looks really nice too!! Anastasios.
  5. Speaking of chipping color, here are some photos of my last big airplane model, a Hasegawa 1/32 Zero with lots of PE stuff on it...... A lot of dust on it too, although I got it in a vitrine!! Anastasios.
  6. Here are some more photos I just shot..... Shot them at natural light outside at my really cold balcony!
  7. Well, Amy Johnson gets my vote!! And the Brasilian of course!!! Anastasios
  8. Hello friends! Looking at Siggi´s wonderful Spitfire thread and work I thought maybe I would also post a photo of my latest modeling work after years, two or so I think. Quit modeling for a while because of FSX, yes, I was to busy learning and flying all the time, so all my projects were put on ice. But, getting to know OFF, urged me to make a small collection of 1/72 Revell WWI aircrafts, at first, just to get to distinguish the types. After a while though, I got to love the brush and paintwork again and finally finished that old bust that was waiting on my desktop for more than two years! It´s a Young Miniatures Bust at 1/10, an SS soldier taking part at the Ardennes offensive. A beautiful resin cast with lots of details. I´m no fan of camouflaged clothing painting and here I did really the best I could. The bust is painted mostly with oils, but also acrylics and pastels. Photos always tend to destroy the feeling and that´s no exception. Finally got just one descent one, with 1,3" exposure at f10 and ISO400, that´s why there´s some noise at the shadows. That´s all guys, please let me know what you think and of course any feedback is welcomed, I think I´m going to visit Ingolstadt for the "Herzog von Bayern" competition with this figure this year, so any comments are mostly welcomed!!!! Thanks! Anastasios.
  9. Yes Sir, Belgium just take head in the race, even with this..... hhmmmmm...... smile! :-) +1 Anastasios
  10. I´ll stick with the Aussie, she looks faaaaaaaaar better than the other two! But maybe a French will take the podium! ( I´m sorry to say that 100% of my genes are male, can´t help it) Anastasios.
  11. I prefer the Aussie!! Any French suggestions?? Anastasios
  12. I got to admit I don´t follow..... carrier in OFF? Download? What? How? ...... ?????? ....... ???? Anastasios
  13. Ken Follet is LEGENDARY!! I remember his Albatros some 15 years ago, was absolutely amazing!! Weird only, I can´t find any pic of it!! BTW, I almost finished my current modeling project, nothing to do with WWI really but still, I´m going to post some photos here when it´s all done!! Anastasios.
  14. And what´s the budget for all these, I mean the bluetooth adapter and Wii. Should be a three LED arrangement? Lots of questions, isn´t it? But thanks in advance!! Anastasios.
  15. Welcome back Olham, even pink!! ;-) Good to have you among us!! Anastasios
  16. Freetrack works and it´s easy to build, I swear!! Yes, I´m a non North American!! :-)) But I know nothing about the bluetooth/Wii combo, I thought it´s not yet supported. Anybody knows how it works?? Anastasios.
  17. Amazing work as usual, thanks guys!!! Anastasios

  20. Hey Gous! Nice to read some Greek here! Wouldn´t expect it at all. And from someone with a DK badge as his photo and a Frenchie from Monty Pythons and the Holly Grail as his avatar, that´s another surprise indeed. I´m sure I´m stuck here for ever now and believe me, it´s good to know! Wrees oi fwto apo tin 8essaloniki, etsi? Kai malista prin apo tin purkagia tou 1917! (a bit more greek babbling :-) please forgive us! ) Anastasios
  21. Wow, I´m impressed!! You guys rock! Apart from the aircrafts in OFF, my knowledge base of WWI aircrafts is really limited, but you got it in you. Thanks for all the tips and hints, I really appreciate it. An early Albatros B.I in Reccon role on a mountainous environment at the Balkan Front. Quite interesting. Thanks again people, I love this community! Anastasios.
  22. It is mentioned as a "Taube" but as far as I know it isn´t. I´m no expert though. The photos are from my hometown, Thessaloniki, Greece, at February 1916. At the time, a strong French expeditionary force was in the city and advancing northwards. The plane was set at show in front of the "White Tower", the city´s major landmark, from upon the second photo was shot. I suppose the first is from the "crash" or land site. Any tips on which type of aircraft is and maybe any other info on this incident? Which unit came from for example? Thanks for any tips, Anastasios.
  23. Happy New Year to everybody in this wonderful community!! The dedication here feels more like a club than a game forum, I am happy to be here. My best sincere wishes to all of you!! Anastasios.
  24. Have a nice trip Olham and have fun. Don´t forget your foto camera, sure Ostfriesland looks great in winter. And of course, Guten Rutsch!! Anastasios.
