  1. Looking cool, going to be a target rich environment...
  2. File Name: VFA-35 Line Blk II [Fictional] File Submitter: EricJ File Submitted: 28 June 2015 File Category: F-18 Much like the Blk I version, this represents a Block II jet, with appropriately changed tail insignia to represent a "change" and so on. Also can be used on the F version if preferred. Click here to download this file
  3. VFA-35 Line Blk I [Fictional]

    Version

    47 downloads

The "line" versions of the Fictional VFA-35 series, set specifically for the Blk I F/A-18E. Note this can of course be used for the Blk I F/A-18F as well.
  4. Yep, even with more reliable and better performing PCs, laptops, the more you can fit on a template the less video RAM you use to render the texture in-game (which helps framerates too). The Super Hornet above uses 3 2048 x 2048 textures, along with a 512 x 512 texture for the drop tank itself. In comparison the DCS:W A-10A and A-10C use 12 2048 x 2048 textures and at least my laptop doesn't choke on them. But again ti's a matter of getting as many parts on one 2D Texture map as possible and still manage to look good when in-game and textured.
  5. No problem brothre... Decided to go a bit "modern" and adjust the insignia for a "later' version (much like what VFA-14 did):
  6. Final look, and uploaded awaiting Moderator approval.

  8. Pretty much man, need to just move on and focus on modding again....
  9. And VFA-35 Line Bird work, just need to add the deck name and NAVY and for the Blk I she'll be good to go.
  10. Oh I'll be fine man, but as mentioned I'm a little gunshy at the moment so maybe down the line... but even then I have to reinstall DCS (which I'm doing now) anyway to reconsider anything first.
  11. There's a lot of things that go behind the scenes as far as development work, ant of course isn't just ED... There's stuff that I don't remember but I'm still under their Non-Disclosure Agreements, so it's a tricky proposition but in the end it's not so much an "elite club" but moderating gone a bit awry and not so much beneficial. True, and I think it sent a signal that shouldn't have been sent, i.e. I wasn't out there to screw ED on the project. So right now I'm a bit gunshy on ANY project in the short or long term.
  12. Agreed, but hopefully the feedback from other forums will hopefully do something for the better, given the apparent backlash it generated not just here... Besides it may be a cultural thing as well as other issues, so now that a lot of people have voiced their grievances (real or imagined, but the imagined may naturally be ignored) out we'll have to see if they finally realize that yes, the community that they have to support is worth it and not only about the bottom line, but general customer relations as a whole.
  13. File Name: F/A-18E VFA-35 Blk II CAG [Fictional] File Submitter: EricJ File Submitted: 26 June 2015 File Category: F-18 The same style as below, this is a "later" skin for a Block II Super Hornet as opposed for the previous Blk I version. This too can be used on the F version (though slight differences in fuselage will of course change the appearance). Click here to download this file
  14. Uploaded and waiting Moderator approval... By Sunday I'll get the Line version done as well.
  15. Cool. I'd like to give that stick high marks (it is a good stick) but yeah the reliability issue was something known back then and after Egypt I ditched it completely.
  16. Agreed, when I started to do a map for a failed project I would map every bit as ONE texture, rather than adding the main parts on the map, and adding the bits. Adding the bits and in the Case 1 format makes it easy for us texture artists as the parts are laid out better and makes texture work so much easier to accomplish... Here's a good example of how it could look:
  17. Damn I didn't know that... but yeah I was going to have a subdued cat and then "AJ" and that would have been it.
  18. Check the [Fuselage] section and see if this is there: "SystemName[016]=ECM" And if its not there, add the line above (sequentially of course) and re-check in-game.
  19. It may have been improved sicne 20012 but back then it was REALLY DELICATE, so it'd break just sitting there. If they fixed that problem then the ability to break it down to two pieces is a must for a simmer on the go, and fairly nice stick, but the brittleness of that stick turned me off to it. I could still put a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro in a duffel bag and get around with it. Now that I have a Thrustmaster Hotas X it's a bit more but overall can still travel with it.
  20. True... I was thinking of doing a C or A model, but I'm going to be lazy, still have to do the Line version but I felt like doing CAGs first...
  21. Amen Wrench... Still WIP (squadron name fixed with white instead of black but otherwise right).
