  1. Yep, the Phantom is good for rocketing and stuff like that, but then again, it's heavy and well.... not fun for a maneuvering fight, but as a target it's easy.
  2. That's fine SkateZilla but just wondering Maybe Spinners but this is kinda why we're leaving SF2, and not created by me, so I tend to just go with the topic since essentially it is on topic.
  3. Not bad... though it would need animating and a bit more touchup though And don't forget 6DOF and all that...
  4. Take it slow is my recommendation. My first DACTs back then as you may have read, started off with me with missiles and them with guns. Then I got a bit more comfortable and now ran it with missiles and still do. But I think you need to fly a jet and get used to it before you fight it. Of course when you get more experience you can pick up a jet, and figure out it's maneuverability and go from there. But start off with a Phantom, as it's to me anyway a good "warm up" jet as while it can burn, it can't turn very well as an opponent, giving you time to work on getting in the kill slot, either for guns or missiles. And just a note, the Atolls on the Fishbeds (and if my mind serves me right) carry Atolls, which are equivalent to AIM-9Bs, even the newer ones so you have to worry about it getting a rear aspect shot on you. Everything is cake even with 9Ls or 9Ms. The 9X or newer AAMs make it too damn easy.
  5. Ahh yeah, I think Matt is waiting in the shadows for me to move on to DCS because last time I asked he said something to the effect that I was mainly on SF2 and not to worry. But got it.
  6. With the exception of FSX, you're pretty much right, which is why I haven't removed it yet. The Crimea... a bit old if you ask me.
  7. Have to say, the Sufa is a real treat to fly, thanks!
  8. Did a test drive of the new (better) Sufa, nice work!
  9. Ahh gotcha, nothing soon then, but then again Coretex will take a while anyway, so no rush.
  10. Open the Options.ini and go to Singlemission and adjust the dates there. StartYear=1970 EndYear=2020 That'll fix that problem...
  11. Matt Wagner is on my Facebook, or just PM them to Wags on the ED Forums, would be cool to see.
  12. That sucks... would have had a nice deck to land on... but I haven't been on there in so long anyway, so I'll stick to FSX and SF2. When they release a two-seater Super I'll probably move on to that.
  13. Wow... I wish my Mission Editor wasn't so borked that I can't do DACT, in a Super Hornet it's easy meat, but to each their own...
  14. Well SkateZilla, I may get lucky with Coretex Designs, I sent them a PM to see if I can help them, but nothing's certain as of yet.
  15. I know how you feel, though I don't do multiplayer (no mic at least) so I fly around, and if I feel the need for combat I turn to SF2, though when TacPack is released I'll probably have some fun shooting at things with that.
  16. Seems strange I can't force a flat spin either... with any jet, but good to know with the F-14. Though my favorite way of recovering out of a flat spin is to throttle to idle and then push on the stick (forward), once you stop moving wiggle the wings a bit, and then apply thrust. It's worked in any game (FSX and Flanker 2.5/LOMAC)
  17. I think it's newer AI in my opinion, once you get in the kill slot it adopts a fatalistic attitude and then it gets easier to bag.
  18. It's pretty interesting I trap at higher speeds in SF2 than in FSX, but then again... but I've come in at around ~250kts and that's about what's good for me. I realize in the real world it's a lot slower but what works, works...
  19. Or go through the Mission editor, create a mission and spend some time removing things, and have a mission where you can do anything.you want. For example, start a strike mission, remove everything, place a carrier where you want. Then get rid of the enemy AAA/SAM and eventually work it into an Air Defense Suppression mission. IF all goes well when the game starts and it tells you to RTB, then you just made a simple "Free Flight" mission to practice stuff, such as carrier trapping, etc.
  20. Caesar went up against my modified F/A-18F which was built using an uprated engine that hasn't (AFAIK) attracted real customers. But I personally doubt (or maybe it was back some pages) that if he took on the F-31 he would have been hammered, but like I said it's been so long that he's handled some of the fictional ones (as well as me).
  21. Nope, RIOs are just "there" and do nothing other than rotate their heads around, looking at everything but realistically just do nothing. But whenever Red Crown calls up stuff it does refer relative towards your position. However, anything in red (subtitles) indicates it's you.
  22. Package updated with everything here, no G cockpit yet though.
