Limiting Mission Types on a Map
EricJ posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Knowledge Base
For those who want to limit what kind of missions can only be played on a map, add this to your (MAP NAME).ini file, towards the bottom. Unlike your aircraft _DATA.ini, which also limits the type of roles, it can be further limited here. So for my Afghanistan map setup, I have this: [AllowedMissionTypes] FriendlyMissionTypes=STRIKE,SEAD,ARMED_RECON,RECON,CAS Since realistically, you'd get nothing out of doing an Escort, or CAP mission (other than a lot of SAM/AAA "excitement"). So I limited for the Player (me or you) the missions above. Specifically for this map. For Red sided (using Red aircraft) missions, simply add this line: EnemyMissionTypes=STRIKE,SEAD,ARMED_RECON,RECON,CAS And so on. Be sure to use the roles that are specified in the Aicraft's _Data.ini in order for it to work. -

While Photoshop is at the high end of the cost spectrum (CS4 is the latest) and Paint Shop Pro and Adobe Photoshop Elements are at the mid-range, though I think Corel still has a program out...? -
BTR-60
EricJ replied to SUICIDAL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
I should have caught it myself suicidal, but looking over the -80, he is right, as the -60 doesn't have the improvements the -80 obviously has, and my version, the -80A, is a version of the BTR-80 only with a 30mm turret. -

EricJ replied to amariani's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yes create a "Guns" folder in the same folder that is with your Weapons folder, and place the 25MM_GAU-22A in the SF2 package in there. -

Oh I know those were correct, just I think lindr2 overexaggerated a few ranges on some. -
F-35 help!
EricJ replied to amariani's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Is it the SF1 or SF2 version? If you are using the SF1 version, you have to manually add the 25mm gun information to the GUNDATA.INI, if it is for SF2 put the 25MM_GAU-22A folder in the Guns folder, fire it up and you should be chopping fools with it. -

First off, it works only for the B and C versions, and did you put the gun system in the Guns folder? -

I think some of it's on the Red end as well, such as a Alamo-A R-27 having an effective range of 100 kilometers, when in actuality the real range is way below that. But I don't want to get into a debate about it. Having helped him with some of the SF2 tweaks that MigBuster described in the KB... I think that should be on the individual but then again, I would think if you were going to request some tweaks to US and Red weapons (and others), it may be easier to tweak it and send it to him, therefore reducing some of the workload. Considering I have 1867 weapons on my install... I don't think that I'm going to spend my time tweaking ALL the weapons (even though a few are custom designed myself), but the option is out there.
