  1. See... I would have liked that for the SuperBug, but don't think FC's comp is up to the challenge. I'm trying a technique that bobrock uses... so with more experimentation I may get something.
  2. Believe it or not the grey scheme really works. About... four, five days ago I had an A-10 overwatching us on patrol. At one point it was visible, at another completely invisible. He wasn't flying that high so while it's weird, the TPS scheme (least the Air Force, never worked with a Navy jet yet) DOES work at altitude, which it was designed for.
  3. Well.... I really can't but it sounded good Though I'm guessing the skin is WIP?
  4. More work, and much thanks to Dave for the font. It's repeated on the other side, I just forgot to upload the other pic.
  5. Tweaking the intake texture and JAT81500 in his graciousness did the SHARP Pod, initial and weathered. Plans is to update the E and F with this, along with the template PSD and original textures.
  6. That's true enough, but gun runs don't require a pod but it would be killer to see that on the GR7 though, that'd make me download it more than I want to
  7. As soon as I finish yours I wouldn't mind some pictures of camoed ones. If your request contains "splinter" in the name.... well.....
  8. Makes me want to abuse my moderator rights so bad....... very nice
  9. Dropping bombs here in Afghanistan is more effective than doing gun runs sometimes. Too many damn rocks (the country is a fighting position BTW), so I'd prefer a Sniper pod equipped anything as long as it can drop some bombas. And no the pod is just as liable to get damaged regardless of platforms. The B-1s have to deal with it, along with the A-10s, and F-15Es Besides a Combat Aircraft (or similar magazine) article I read before I deployed stated the TIALD blew rocks (no pun intended) and the Sniper? Damn fine piece of machinery.
  10. Thanks! There's still the inside of the forward intakes to work on... but yeah man, I'm glad the frakkin splinter portion is done! And by the way, this is another example of FC's outstanding mapping, all the "decals" are texture.
  11. F-22 Raptor Cut today?

Yeah, give it two Apaches as escort, and you'll be fine
  12. True enough, but sometimes it's just nice to just fly around, rather than have to worry about Red Air though.. I flew around the VietnamSEA map earlier for an hour. Sucks because the SAMs at least were active (didn't shut them off either) so I couldn't see everything but it was just nice to fly.
  13. Well that's a matter of FC getting around to it.. haven't heard from him and I'm liking this as well.. and thanks!
  14. Technically modern jets can use the airfields, if they are able to use SMALL fields, so all hope is not lost.
  15. Returning after a long range recce mission, Finals before landing, and the VFA-2 CAG gets forward operating base training.
  16. Just have recently bought and downloaded a .3ds model of the SHARP Pod (replaced the TARPS pod) for the Supa Bug... If somebody would like to convert it I have it available for editing. http://www.meshfactory.com/catalog/product...products_id=407 And just for the legalese again: From: Marv Mays (mm@meshfactory.com) Sent: Thu 4/05/07 11:36 AM To: Eric Johnson Eric, As long as the model is converted into a proprietary format, encrypted, or is merged into a some sort of binary executable game file, it would be fine. What we don't want is the model and textures distributed with the sim in a common/commercial 3d format that would allow it to be separated and then re-distributed as a stand-alone commercial 3d model. Let me know if I can be of further assistance! Marv Mays Owner / Lead Artist Mesh Factory mm@meshfactory.com 1605 Terrawenda Drive Defiance, OH 43512 USA fax: 561.431.2648
  17. Don't get me started about that camo pattern, and if somebody wishes, and FC manages to finish this, then you all can have fun with that But seriously, it's painstaking work as far as getting it lined up and exact. So while it seems I'm not putting much effort into it, I am, but I do other skins to "take a break". I did Cat's SimHQ bird and it took me 18+ hours, first to get a workable template, and then the splinter... which wasn't as extensive as this one is. In the end though... it's definitely worth it.
  18. Returning home after a successful strike and bagging four Flankers and Raptor.
