  1. Well honestly I don't fly combat missions anymore, I just free fly around and such. I mean combat is fun, but when you're outshooting the enemy, it's a bit boring too.
  2. Well if I read that right then I'll need drop tanks for sure, depends on how much I fly it I suppose.
  3. Impressive to say the least. It looks cool at least, but I hope it's not the 60% compression that SF2 terrains go through.
  4. I've gotten the Medal Honor on The Range, but not sure how they come up with the way to award people.
  5. No, nobody did them. SidDogg may have done something but I'm not sure. The skin template however is in the Downloads section though.
  6. ODS mod, as well as a slew of new mods in the File Announcements, that's your best bet in finding something new.
  7. Yeah I can't do it, the template isn't that great on the Viper Team (even though it's a ravenclaw one), and I don't have the TW Template either, so I'm out.
  8. Which F-16 though? The Viper Team one, or the 3W one? Or doesn't it matter?
  9. Yeah you're doing it all wrong. Take this Soundlist.ini and ADD that stuff to the one I gave you from the Tornado pack. in sequential order. SOUNDLIST.INI
  10. For some reason I won't fly SF2 Hawgs. I don't know why but maybe I like the gadgets and doohickeys of the DCS plane better, even though I never flew in an online squadron. Anyway it's looking pretty good DA
  11. Well normally what we do is take the one from the CAT File and add to it, and it works like that. My only thought is that it may be out of order on the Soundlist.ini that you have already, but it's a complete one, but check the sequence and see if it's not a typo or something, as "Cannon" is a default sound, and something is out of whack apparently, and I'm trying to help (not that well I apologize) figure it out.
  12. Well the CAT extractor is in the Download section under Utilities. I looked at the gun files and it says "Cannon", so I assume the default sound. Hopefully guruu chimes in and helps, because it looks like it should work right out of the box.
  13. I'm thinking you have a "virgin" Soundlist.ini and it's reading off of that. What you should do is using the CAT Extractor, find the game's soundlist.ini and add that gun sound to it, and put it in the Flight folder.
  14. Looks like somebody doesn't have a good taste in sodas...
  15. We should have a Skin Request Topic, so we can consolidate all the skin requests, much like how the Arma forums do that, so people can request stuff without posting in various topics. That way texture artists can visit the topic and say yay or nay.
  16. Well that sheds light on what the end result is, because so far I can't tell what the TRIM (never heard of it really) looks like. Thanks snapper21
  17. Yeah this is by far the best place for content. I mean there's DAT, but then again the policies and the weird nature of the place turns me off, as while I haven't applied there, I stick mainly to here due to less drama and the like.
  18. That's fair and I think a lot of players here look at the Vietnam war as a pinnacle of aviation, and support the aviation side. My beef somewhat is the high rate of civilian casualties on the ground, I'm a former US Army Soldier, and I so far haven't killed a civilian between two combat deployments, so I have a sort of stuck up personality of the war. Anyway, it's mainly the tech that keeps me away. A lot of things were only done because of the level of tech. I have flown in the map at least with modern planes, and it's an interesting thing (imagine Hanoi with SA-10s and the like, yeesh!) given the technology ot today versus SA-2s and the like. It was a good thing that the SA-2 was what it was, and thankfully didn't down too many planes during that war.
  19. I guess so, I honestly don't mess with the Vietnam-era planes (I have an ambivalent view of the war itself), but I'm spoiled by modern CCIP and the like. it's good that you viewed it though I'm sure it was a good refresher. I'm sure if I took some time to learn the Vietnam-era planes I could expand my knowledge, but then again I haven't flown in a few months, so there's that.
  20. Im pretty sure it's in a weapons pack somewhere, maybe killerbee's? But if you can incorporate it in the 3D model it'll make it easier to skin and the like.
  21. The F-4 is a pain in the ass to trap. I learned by dropping flaps and watching my speed. I do it by eye since I zoom in for landings (just so I can watch the deck and stuff). it sinks pretty bad but once you figure out how to land it, it's not hard to trap. I stick with the Super Hornet (modern era flyer here), so it's not that difficult to land, once you figure everything out it's fairly easy, given the modern era flight controls and how the plane is setup and so on. But the F-4 is just about maintaining speed so you don't sink too much really. Other than that it's somewhat easy to fly. I don't like flying the F-4 because it's a flying brick, and the Super Hornet, depending on its version, isn't that much fast on most throttle settings, but it has it's charms and I stick with that. I've never done a Skyhawk so I can't offer any tips with that, you'll have to ask some other people about the Skyhawk, but the A-6 is a nice plane, I give it two thumbs up on how it flies and so on, always liked flying it though.
  22. Devin Horner has a good tutorial on YouTube for the Vietnam era planes, or the users here can give you tips. I'd suggest going to the Downloads section and in the SF2 Terrains section, download The Range map. It's an enemy free map where you can practice with weapons and the like without getting shot at and so on. It has a Red Range too for the Russian/enemy planes, etc. A lot of it is finding resources as TK despite his faults, as I understand was an aeronautical engineer, or something like that anyway, so a lot of the stuff you find in manuals can be used in the game. But it also helps us to know what you're flying so we can help you better too. There's so many planes, and default planes that narrowing it down will help us help you.
  23. I mean I can't help you (I sorely wish I could), but that's some good work so far though.
