  1. No, it was just a one time event, I assure you of that. I didn't know until recently, when I was searching for something else and I bumped into an info which took me there. I discovered it accidentally that there is a slightly difference between them and I realized it only when I read about three guns instead of one. That was the spark when I realized they are indeed different. I didn't have pictures in my front, just letters in an article.
  2. Well Nesher was copied from...somewhere, right ? It didn't suddenly appeared in 70s because Isreali were on spot geniuses. And I don't recall that they paid any copyright, too, even if the Nesher resembles 99% with...Mirage III. Also, do not underestimate the Israeli engineers, they can reverse any technology if you challenge them. And this was valid in the 70s, too.
  3. What I know about Nesher is this, in fact everyone knows that story, but no one knows how much is true of it: After the embargo, even if the Isralei paid for them, a specific numbers of Mirages were stopped from getting into Israeli hands. That is FACT which can be verified in official documents. What happened from here on is part story , part, MAYBE, the truth or some parts of it LOL - version 1: the French secretely sent, anyway, the promised, paid planes, in boxes, where they stored pieces of the plane. - version 2: Israelis enraged by the refuse of Paris to comply with their planes' paid order, decided to copy the plane themselves, partially true, because they created the Nesher sooner after - version 3:the real truth of what happened, which no one, except a few high ranking Israeli officers and officials, knows it exactly.
  4. Even so, that doesn't mean is true. if you see something in a magazine, an opinion even of a veteran pilot, it doesn't automatically mean that is true. He may fabricate parts of the story or alltogether just to sell a story, especially if no one else verifies what he is telling. It happened before, recent history is full of that. A greek proverb says that an intelligent person believes just half of a told story and a real intelligent one knows which part to believe it, too. The main law in journalism about a news is to be sustained by at least three DIFFERENT sources. Bottom line, personally I don't believe that, partially because Israeli themselves were very good pilots, even better than the Americans. But of course , that is just my opinion. And also I checked, no official Americans admited that. Ever! I never said anything, here, about Nesher. I don't know where is that coming from, really. :) I saw many documentaries where Vietnam aces even, admitted that MIG-21 turns faster than a F-4. Secondly, they also said that the only escape for them was to use its superior engine/power to lift higher and the missiles. I saw an American Vietnam veteran ace that admitted that he puked into the cockpit and piss his pants after a dogfight with a MIG-21 which almost took him on the brink of losing his life in that encounter. So long story short, in a gun only dogfight, at equal skill, a F-4 is inferior, it will lose the battle 100%.
  5. Nope, you are mistaken here. He says that for unknown reasons (only TK knows why). He says that even when no one has any missiles at all , he says that even if it's just you and him and you don't have a lock on an enemy and have plenty of missiles.. A way around is to tell him to break and then give him again the command to attack. He also says "I'm locked" when he has an enemy tail and is trying to get rid of it. In campaigns as I said, is an improvement ONLY if you take with you the SAME man who leveled up on skill and experience, otherwise you won't see any improvement at all. If you wanna learn something , in the aftermath don't look to kills, instead look to who didn't fire any missile or bullet at all. That it would tell you about value/skills etc yes, as I stated , break works great in SF1 only. In SF 2 the command is crippled, it's just for the show.
  6. Where do you have this info ? Do you have any proof to back it up ? I know for sure that Russian pilots flew Egyptians MIGs but Americans flying Phantoms with Israeli insignia that is the first time, in almost 60 years, when I hear that.
  7. I think that those Mirages would have been an easy pray for the new SAMs in that period. israeli lost 100 fighters in the first days, including F-4s. Americans, on spot sent them F-4 with new jammers for SAMs. The Israelian would have remain quckly without planes. Maybe they wouldn't lose the war but the sky would have been in Arab forces hands.F-4 in those time was more a drawback than an advantage if Arab forces would have had good pilots on MIG-21s. An F-4 pilot has no chances in front of a very skilled pilot with a MIG-21. F-4 had missiles, without them...who knows how many would have been lost.
  8. Tomorrow the project begins! I will keep you up to date, when I receive data about it.
  9. Aha...Well only for a keen eye is a difference here. I admit, I would have had a hard time to tell the difference between this one and one from the second or third generation.
  10. I read about it, it says it's similar to F-13 but superior due to some real upgrade. Why do you want a model made if it doesn't look unique ? I'm just curious.
  11. What I lack and I would need in SF2 is , what I mentioned in one of my previous posts, the break command from SF1. When I was with a single wingman in SF1 and ordered him to break, after the maneuver, he accelerated and attacked everything in his path without any other order. This only worked IF : - enemy was in wingman missile's range (the beter the missiles the longer distance he attacked from) - I had locked to an enemy If I had 4 wingmen it was more fun, after break command all four would attack all the targets in their front. Go in SF1 if you still had it installed and check that and live the joy what brings it. In SF2 series, TK changed that and eliminate the A.I. behaviour if one gives this command. Who knows maybe he thought of it as an exploit kindda thing and didn't liked it.In my opinion that was the best example of excellent and intelligent A.I. behaviour. It's a shame that he erased that in SF2. In SF1 series this break command saved sometimes the day. I had wingmen which didn't fired any missiles and refused to fire or act when I commanded them to attack (generic flight command) even if the enemy was on my radar locked and they were in missiles range. But when I gave them the break command, they attacked as if they woke up from some spell. However I did more tests with wingmen commands and I am almost certain that , the higher the rank/skill, the better all wingmen will behave. I had some sessions, not too many though, in which ALL the 7 wingmen attacked (fired at least a missile or used the cannon) PS- about the rank/skill, look careful into roster page when you prepare for entering the generated single player mission. Choose the ones who have the higher skil or/and experience, versus low skill/ low experience and you will notice a huge difference in their behaviour. When you play a campaign things get interesting, the skill and experience are not resetting and generated again randomly as in generated single player mission. The experience and skill achived in the battle is there and it will raise/add, separately for every A.I. pilot you brought into the missions (of course, if the wingmen score points shooting down enemy planes or ground targets or if they have precision using the ammo and payload, example he fires 4 missiles but only three hit the target etc). So the better they perform, the better they become during the campaign. Though you have to watch them into the fight, sometimes they make mistakes and end up shot down or killed. You have, like in reality, to take care of them and bring them home alive. It's a challenge and if you can pull it out , the more enjoyable the campaign would be.
  12. There are some nice remakes of the MIG-21 cockpit (made by Comrad I think), but I noticed one problem, they are translucent, the sun rays go through it, the same with the gun light. With the gun light I managed to shut it off, unchecking the addlight source setting in gun.ini, but with the sun I am out of ideas. Is there a trick, a workaround to fix that please ? Thank you
  13. Thanks a lot fellows, I didn't know that it was already made an earlier model.
  14. Never crossed my mind that it is in the SF1 section. LOL Thanks!
  15. The downloaded plane misses the LOD. Does anyone know, please, what happened with it ? Was it banned or something ? Does anyone have it, please ? I would appreciate a little help on this one. Thank you! I intended to wrote to the team asking to address the matter but I noticed that they last showed up in 2012, so...
  16. Lucky me. :). I'll think about it. I will launch three planes instead of one. It's tempting. However I will need assistance for appropriate skins. If you wanna help here I would appreciate and we will all benefit of it. I think the Chinese one is a little longer. UPDATE I think I could do 4 (Soko-G4 Super Galeb looks the same , it seems) LOL
  17. Got a question for you regarding the YAK-130 model that it will be built and if you please I would like an answer from each of you who are excited about the new project. The model which serves as a trainer, which is identicall with the fighter/bomber one, has no afterburner. Searching for answers I found this: The development of the engine started at Ivchenko-Progress of Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine in 1999. The engine was originally intended for the Yakovlev Yak-130 trainer aircraft. An after-burning version, the AI-222-25F (from Russian/Ukrainian "Форсаж", meaning reheat) is also available with thrust vectoring. In 2015 Russian manufacturer "Saljut" began to produce AI-222-25 without any Ukrainian involvement.[1] Now, I would like to hear your opinion, you want the model to have afterburner or not ? Please enter your option/preference until monday (monday, all day, included!) if you please. Thank you!
  18. As I told you, only No 3 reacts. No 2 reacts ONLY if you direct him to attack, otherwise he is deaf and stupid staying into formation like nothing happened. The same No 4. But, I did some tests these days watching the wingmen A.I. behaviour. In one run , with F-15A Baz (there were 8 planes into formation) I noticed that if I order squadron to attack air targets, only No 3 , from each 4 plane of one flight, aknowledges, but when I ordered, entering in command menu in each formation of four, to attack, even the No 5 attacked, actually he shot down 6 planes in the end! But No 8 and No 6 had all their weapons on board when the session ended. No 4 attacked , too but I am not sure if he did it on its own initiative or he was attacked or was painted onan enemy radar. Who knows, maybe if you have in formation A.I. pilots with higher skill (No 5 was Lt col) , they will commence attack if you order the squadron to attack. I'll keep testing and if I will find anything to be worth talking about you will know it.
  19. I entered you in the ledger with the mentioned amount Sir for future plans! LOL
  20. Ladies and gentlemen...finally we have a... WINNER ! We reached a formal agreement and soon the project will commence. I'll keep you posted.I hope you are all excited about the news (I surely would in your place)
  21. Hmmm...and I who believed that rarely rains in Africa LOL
  22. interesting observation...I will have it under advise. Thanks I thought of that a lond time ago. Tens of planes could be made this way. There are a couple of hundreds of stabile members. One dollar/euro will be enough for each plane. If the price will be too high, for this plane I want to build, I will surely ask people what do they think about this suggestion as a part of the plane's price. Personally I wouldn't have minded to pay one dollar and benefit of a plane or many planes.
