  1. Also as I start prepping repaints - obviously necessary for the above project - a Gripen paint kit would be much appreciated. Please. Now I could just graft Dhmari & Canadian decals to currently existing skins like the USAF pak out there, and leaning in that direction... but be nice to do more than that. No rush though, see above.
  2. Thanks much. The tentative plan is this: Goal of a release of v 1.0 by 1 June 2019, at least one beta by 1 March 2019. Remember, I have a lot to learn & create in putting my concept to reality. The Dhmaris will have C model, and have South African help in the form of C model too. The Canadians & Swedes will lead a UN peacekeeping mission to deescalate tensions and the Canadians will have E-model Gripens. But they'll eventually require... heavyweight help. The Parani will be using some Chinese fighters, and phasing out MiGs due to the MiG battle record against 4th gen US & European built fighters and price.
  3. At least we know the C model can carry a couple of 4-packs of SDBs, Meteors & IRIS-Ts... from https://mediaportal.saabgroup.com/#/items/23898:
  4. Good thread. Rather resourceful thread as I plan a near future scenario where the Dhimaris get Gripens and the Paranis have MiG 29s plus a few surprises as well. Except now, it will be most likely "peacekeeper" Gripens vs. aggressor Paranis that bully & teeter on becoming a genocidal threat to African security. Basically call this a reboot of a personal campaign I did in Jane's Fighter Anthology and almost polished for public release where SAAF Gripens would intervene in South Sudan as part of peacekeeping. Figure that'd be a good excuse to show what a modern, lightweight 4.5 gen fighter could do... and why eventually a Gripen C fleet would need backup from heavy hitters (e.g. late Block F-16s, Typhoons and attack helicopters) to hold the line. Consider the Gripen a modern version of the F-5E Tiger II.. Plus dogfighting in the Gripen is like I don't know dogfighting in a Viper without two big bags of gas hanging off the wings. You just want to get into a furball in a Gripen against a MiG-29... or a J-10... or a Su-27... or a JF-17. Not so much pound ground targets - I don't think but am working to verify that the Gripen C cannot carry multiple air-to-ground weapons per hardpoint.
  5. CF-151 (Rafale) * What-If

Very good choice of a "what if"! Could just very well happen...
  6. I'd get it, then apply the F-15 packs to it... Trust me on this: You'll love having access to state of the art F-15s alongside the F-16... THAT SAID, learned last night from The Fighter Pilot Podcast that DCS is planning a Syria map. ;-)
  7. Well I will do my best by Friday to check the loadouts on the E, I & K as well. Long term I want to do a 123rd FS repaint for the C model. Problem is, I have TWO Environmental Impact Statements to read & comment on this week... and the first one is a thick four volume baby on the EA-18Gs I want to see fly at OLF Coupeville a lot more. Problem is, I need to get a letter of support to the Secretary of the Navy - the real-life opposition is flooding the guy's inbox. But THANK YOU very much for your work moving this product forward. No seriously, thank you.
  8. For the record, this is what the Silent Eagle can carry internally:
  9. Also sorry to flood the thread, but this is too damn priceless NOT to Flog...
  10. Here are some screenies from the testing of some new loadouts for at least the Silent Eagle and go to the below for the update. Please READ the directions carefully: With that, enjoy:
  11. Did some initial flight tests and can't see where the AIM-9s were hung on the external model when programmed into the sim... Otherwise, this looks like a leap ahead.
  12. Thanks for doing this, I have a few days of test flying ahead. Will share pictures... Also hopefully now I have some how-tos to work on the F-15E and... the JAS-39 ;-).
  13. Gotta ask yourself, "What were those SAAB Maritime Patrol Aircraft guys thinking?" WIP from a potential peacekeeping campaign around the SAAB... Gripen!
  14. F-16C 64th Aggressor Squadron

    THANK YOU for doing this!
  15. Really thinking about writing a campaign around the Gripen C on a fantasy African peacekeeping mission.  There's just something to me about the Gripen's high turn rate I rather like.

What I don't like about the Gripen - especially the C - lack of hardpoints.  You really can't slug it out like with a F/A-18E Rhino...

  16. Really, truly like all those Brimstones on the Tiffy. Imagine doing tank plinking or maritime patrol with eighteen (yes, 18!) of those things AND an IR pod AND a big radar AND addon fuel AND six (6!) air-to-air missiles AND a 27mm cannon!
  17. Sukhois

Send 'em. I can't wait to mix it up with a Flanker. The Flanker series has my Amernadian respect but I gotta say I'm confident in a Rhino I can deal with a Flanker or a J-15 easy.
  18. Sukhois

Can't wait to be AIM-9 bait! Maybe I'll get lucky and just have to dodge an AIM-9X that'll fail over Syria... and that War Party Rhino driver won't have an AMRAAM left! Any and all references to the latest air-to-air kill 100% intentional: Or unlucky and my foe is a Tomcat driver who is too used to missiles missing. In any event, I am stoked to see realistic Fitters join SF2! THANK YOU!
  19. Wonder what came of this cool what-if mod?
  20. Back from shoulder surgery but will be a few days to two weeks before I dare to fly SF2 again...

  21. Where does one find this paint for SF2 please?
