AA-8 problem
SayethWhaaaa replied to bigpig98's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Sounds like you don't have the '2IR' entry under the 'AllowedWeaponClass=' entry. Open up the Mig-21bis_Data.ini and have a butchers at the LeftWingStation/RightWingStation entries (they might show up as 'InnerLeftWingStation' or some variation of that. It should look something like this (this is my entry for my Mig-21-93, but it's identical where it counts): [LeftWingStation1] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=3 StationGroupID=2 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=-2.01,-1.26,-0.38 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=1000.0 <<-------- Make sure the allowable weight is enough for 2 Aphids and the dual IR rack. Just pump this value up a bit. 1000 is more than enough for 2x Aphids. AllowedWeaponClass=AHM,IRM,2IR,SAHM,BOMB,LGB,EOGB,EOGR,LGR,RP,TER,FT <<-------- Make sure the entry 2IR is in here somewhere AttachmentType=SOVIET, ModelNodeName=WingPylon_L PylonMass=60 PylonDragArea=0.02 LaunchRailNodeName=MissileRail_L LaunchRailHeight=0.10 LaunchRailMass=25 Try that and see how you go. Let us know if it doesn't. If it doesn't, just copy and paste the entry for your left/right wing stations you're trying to mod and we can figure it out from there. -

Potential Ukrainian Air Force losses
SayethWhaaaa replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
AFM did a report on the Uke AF in August and their information was only 9 of the Su-27s were operational at the time, and only 2 of those had been modernised (with roughly a total of 10 in the first batch of the local, limited, modernisation program). Also, when the Russians took Belbek, they captured something like 75% of Ukraine's Mig-29s and these are nearly all in pieces now. Most of those weren't operational (I think only 6 were, at that site, at the time), and have since been moved from that site. I can't remember if they were confiscated by the Russians, or they were later returned to the Ukrainians, but either way, they're of no use to anyone right now. Not quite. Russian Mi-24s and Mi-8s have been very active over disputed territories. They're also fully operational, unlike the Ukranian Mi-24s that were, like the air force, in the process of upgrading their platforms. Again, thanks to Yanukovych siphoning a shit-tonne of money from the military budgets, the Hind upgrades were hampered by a severe lack of funds. It's pretty much the same story for most of the military. They're in no position to fight anyone, which is why it blows me away when (uninformed) people claim that the Ukraine is the aggressor in this situation. -
It would be great to get involved as this is potentially a global issue with far reaching effects. Unfortunately, it's being dealt with by comically inept US politicians and American business groups and lobbyists, so for many of us in the rest of the world, we can't do a thing! All we can do is encourage those of you who live in the US to take notice and take action, or ignore it at your own risk. And listen to Erik. The man knows what he's talking about!

That's horrible, DA. Our condolences and best wishes to both of your families.

Yeah, but it shouldn't be. There should be Kiwi Vipers, or Kahus, or second hand Hornets at the very least(though NZ can do WAY better than our hand-me-downs), or something. I still think there should have been some kind of joint force arrangement with the RAAF/ADF, even if only because we're in the neighbourhood...

It's like the Romulan Warbird and Ariana Grande. Looks great from different angles, but there is one POV that is just horrible. -

My only problem with Sky Crawlers was that the in-flight scenes were amazing, but I wanted to see more! Like how those giant flying wings could land with that giant vert stabiliser below, and just behind the bomb bay.
