About Abbay

  1. My wish list would be for there to be more things to do in arty spotting and photo recon missions. Also, the 0/400 and Albatros C.III.
  2. I think there are two separate places in this forum and this space is only for BH&HII WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
  3. in my case, the biggest gains were reducing the ringdim's to 5 across all patchworlddim values in the texturebudgets file. And in the scenerybudgets file, I kept it near stock with a slight increase in the first couple of majordensity values because those were a problem to contain. I also enabled NoMultisampling to take advantage of nvidia inspector. I managed to get consistent frames without any major dips. RAM usage stayed at a constant 11GB, and video/cpu usage never went above 25%.
  4. I stand corrected. I think the tuner patch is great, but those numbers weren't for meant for my system. After a day of testing, I finally was able to dial in numbers which kept my frame rates over 100. And I didn't need to change any of my workshop settings to boot! I googled and read several forum posts from VonS, majormagee, Ankor, yaan98, panama red, and others. This helped me understand a little bit of what I should and shouldn't do. As a side note, this will probably be the only adjustment I make to BH&HII for a while or until I come across something like it.
  5. Yes, I guess that would make sense... but it's not clear to me what that setting does. Do you know what difference is between the low, medium and high? (remove buildings, trees, aircraft, etc... or lower the quality of textures, ...)
  6. I actually don't mind installing MODs. I had contributed to making some a long time ago. But when I did try the ones that adjust the contents of the compositescenerybudgets and compositetexturebudgets, I got a lot of inconsistences with texture popping. However, I did get slightly better frame rates. On the flip side, the stock settings had very little texture anomalies, but with slightly less frame rates. Of course, everyone's system and experiences differ, but that was my observation. Also, the frame rates plunge when approaching airfields no matter what I use. I'm seeing maybe 10 to 15 less frame rates around airfields. I don't think this phenomenon has changed since OFF.
  7. I can confirm that after running a few missions in a WOFF campaign on an i5-10600/RTX 3090 there appears to be no blue triangles when I look left and right. I don't use mods and BH&HII is on stock settings.
  8. Buddy's re-modified DM

Buddy's files are mysteriously gone. What happened?
  9. With my personal experience, I had a 6870 with an intel DP67BG board. They worked together good, until I decided to upgrade the video card. I inserted the 580 and.... nothing. No video signal. Then I reinserted the 6870 and everything was OK. Me and the PC technician tried swapping the power supply, memory, RAM and even tried to mess around with the PCIE power and nothing seemed to work. The 580 didn't jive with the intel MB. So, I switched to a slightly bit more expensive Gigabyte MB and presto... the card was humming away with a video signal and I never looked back since. Moral of the story for me is never trust intel MB. BTW - I also am happy with my intel HD.
  10. Wow! Definately an amazing find Olham! I wonder what other settings would increase the AI level or if there is a way to test this theory in game.
  11. A Big Thank You To Hauksbee!

I keep reading similar stories in these forums and I'm always pleasantly amazed at how the people here are genuinely nice and supportive.
  12. Help needed......

I've installed 90% of the mods (DM, FM+Weight, Arc, Weather, News, ActiveSector/QuiteSector Missions, etc...) and am enjoying the game. Does this imply that I will enjoy the game more if I remove the mods?
  13. LOL. I nearly fell off my chair when I read that. The coffee you may be refferring to may be the turkish coffe where it's served in a 4 oz cup and half is the grinded coffee beans and half is the liquid - it's very potent stuff. The traditional Saudi coffee is made from either, unroasted/lightly roasted coffee beans (greenish/light brown), wheat or barley with a bit of cardamum and maybe cinnimon added for flavor and served with dates (probably to offset the bitterness).
  14. I do appreciate all of the warm welcomes from a very fine group of virtual and real pilots as yourselves. All drinks are on the house.... Milk, Juice, Water, etc... I'll tell the doorkeeper to ignore anyone who happens to sneak in other types of drinks. Let the party begin...
  15. Salute Glad to be here guys/gals... Just out of curiosity, I openned the same "aircraft.cfg" files from the original OFF folder, the "HPW German FM", and the "Empty Weight Mod" to see the changes that were made. I am aware that a lot of work went into testing these numbers and I don't claim to know anything about how they affect the game. However, I do notice that the section titled "[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]" in the OFF "cfg file" are pretty much the same to "HPW German FM" file, and both are different from the "Empty Weight Mod" file. So, my next question is: would replacing the numbers in the "HPW German FM" file with that of the "Empty Weight Mod" achieve the desired combined effect of both files or would that totally mess up the physics of the planes (assuming I use the exact same plane files)? Thanks Abbay
