  1. An Interview with Capt Robert Ward

That was a great interview! Thank you both to Dave and Capt. Ward.
  2. You should check out YAP. It has some fantastic recce birds and missions as well as a clever way of simulating the cameras. You take screenshots for the photos and then check them out after the mission to see if you got what you wanted.
  3. You might want to read this interview with Jug and then think again about whether or not his comments are accurate.
  4. I always land manually, but I find I need to turn the cockpit off in order to actually see the deck when I am at the correct attitude and speed. I keep it on until I roll out on final and then switch it off when I lose sight.
  5. I managed to get it working with YAP after some help from Wilco. I actually got this mod and brain32's high res tile repaints. It changes the colour palette to a darker one but everything seems to work nicely so far. Of course I have only checked a few missions so don't take that as gospel. First make sure you back up your VietnamSEA folder! To make it work, I opened up the vietnamsea_data.ini file from YAP and copied the stuff before the TextureXXX headers into the vietnamsea_data.ini file of the CA_Stary mod. If you have more TextureXXX entries in your YAP file copy over the ones that are higher numbered than the last one in the CA_Stary mod file. Put all the files from the mod in the appropriate folder but use your modified ini file.
  6. Can someone post what needs to be done to have this be compatible with YAP? I realise you can't redistribute YAP files, and I'm not asking for that. However, if certain lines in a config need to be changed surely it is permissible to say change the line starting with "Blah" to "Bleh" or somesuch.
  7. Hello, I've decided I want to try my hand at modding some things. What I am really interested in is making new gauges and avionics stuff. Is there an explanation anywhere of how to make a gauge, what sort of functions are available to it, what sort of things we can call from the avionics60 and 70 dlls? For example if I wanted to make something like an HSI but different than the stock HSI, how would I do it? Or if I wanted to put HUD text inside a gauge, is that possible? Thanks for the help, Chris
  8. Allied Force Contest

I liked the interview. Thank you to the CombatAce and MultiViper people for providing these services and the contest, they are much appreciated :)
  9. Made a post in the thread you linked to. Thanks for the help streakeagle :)
  10. Hello, I seem to be only able to view 45 degrees up with the TrackIR. From what I can tell this is the default behavior but is there any way to change some things so I can have a better upper limit on the view? Thank you for the help.
