  1. And invariably he will tell you: Every take-off is optional. Every landing is mandatory.
  2. Notwithstanding all of the above - good work, Stephen1918! Your many and varied improvements to the series are appreciated!
  3. It could be a lot worse than having Markie Post as your defense attorney...
  4. They've tried - the Zuni Maritime Foundation had been active in money-raising throughout Hampton Roads and up and down the East Coast, but they only had a handful of volunteers for daily maintenance. At one point there was a brief contract to allow local law enforcement agencies to stage practice boardings and securement details, but the insurance requirements were too great for that revenue stream to continue. I'd been aboard her several times when she was docked in Norfolk a few years back, and in my estimation she just had too many mechanical systems difficulties and access issues for tourists to make that avenue work successfully. In the end, the calculations were made that it just would never be cost-effective to save her. The hull damage sustained during 2012 was really the final blow, but she still held on for a couple more years during which time she was stripped of memorabilia and paraphernalia that has now been moved to other museum ships. It's been a sad end to a ship with a remarkable history...
  5. Well, then, Geezer will simply have to model out a static Jaguar SS100 for use by those superb RAF personnel!
  6. That would seem to be appropriate. Here is "Pips" Priller with his BMW 328-55 Sport Cabriolet just a few years later...
  7. The REVS Institute has a beautiful and correct 8C 2900B (I believe your blue one is a 2900A) on display. A true dual-purpose Berlinetta, it was both elegant and refined, while maintaining its title of the fastest production car of the late 1930s. I'm sure some of your Chirri drivers owned two or three of them! Would be a great static model for one of those SCW airbases (hint, hint)!
  8. Never had much luck with bombing anything in FE, with a modified gunsight or not! BUT, going back to trying to dispose of an aerial adversary with your fixed Vickers or Spandau, someone awhile back reported in a thread that if you make your GunsightMilSize=4 (or thereabouts), it will be sufficiently small to not show in the FRONT_VIEW or WIDE_VIEW seating positions. However, when you close in to do some serious re-arrangement to your enemy's collection of wood and fabric flying in close formation, there it will be in GUNSIGHT_VIEW helping you to hit your mark!
  9. Pretty neat, Mr. Wrench - thanks! Man, that first mission is TOUGH to finish with a GOOD rating!
  10. Very nice, Stephen1918 - thank you! For your interest, below are two shots of an unarmed Bleriot (replica) with a pair of fuselage attachment brackets for securing a rifle so the observer doesn't have to maintain "Port Arms" during the duration of a flight!
  11. SCPO Safety Briefing on flight physics: 1. Airplanes just naturally want to fly. 2. Helicopters just naturally want to crash.
  12. Especially impressed with the Chevrolet "Woody" wagon, Stephen1918 - good job!
  13. Great lookin' models, Geezer! May be you covered it in another topic, but do you have any period static aircraft in the hopper for airfield "eye candy"?
  14. A great, great movie - and don't forget Rick Blaine's famous line: "Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine." It's right up their with Mitchell Gantt uttering "Simple." right after he landed the stolen and out-of-fuel MiG-31 "Firefox" on an ice floe!
  15. Thank you, sir - your acknowledgement and commendation are appreciated! Semper Paratus!
  16. On behalf of The Colonies during the 101st anniversary year of U.S. Coast Guard aviation, please allow me to offer the congratulations due achievement of this significant milepost!
  17. Thank you, Stephen1918! Another drawing in an early book on aviation is now a flying model - great stuff!
  18. Good stuff. Several videos online about recent CG training in 44' and 47' Motor Lifeboats (MLB's). Got to ride in a couple 44-footers in my day, but it was a lot more calm than the conditions those videos portray!
  19. Nice, but I'm still holding out hope for the Cherry2000 model. IIRC, the original movie was based on events in 2017, so we shouldn't have long to wait!
  20. Downloaded additional XvT and BOP models from KJakker's ImpTac Ship Patch and got the Missile Boat working. Most of your "XvT models" from above listing (C-3 Pasngr, Patrlbt (see below), Ltcal, Crusa) were also in the patch, but I couldn't find the Container Transport. Several other additional models (most I had never heard of) such as the Tie Oppressor, E-Wing (see both below), Nighthawk Battle Cruiser, Star Viper also included. A lot of this I haven't fooled with yet, but am reasonably comfortable in saying that most of it probably works as advertised. Wasn't able to download the expanded training missions patch as I kept getting re-directed to another site.
  21. Downloaded the GOG-version ship patch (had to get it out of Dropbox and it was a little clunky), but after a couple hours of fooling with it, got this to work in one of my XvTEd revised missions. Lots of other stuff in the GOG-patch (mostly "Campaign" and "Training" from what I could tell), but no instructions for installation, and no Mislbt files. If I get a chance I'll take a look at KJakker's two expansion packs to see what's there.
  22. Agreed - nicely done!
  23. Thank you, Stephen1918! In looking over the ordnance, I didn't see a single bag of coal!
  24. Incredible career.
  25. Nicely done!
