Mesh name for aux intakes on TK's F-4M
Sheriff001 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Hi guys, I am in the process of making a RAAF F-4M based on TK's F-4M. I am having trouble finding the mesh name for the auxiliary intakes. The auxiliary intakes are the small open doors forward of the jet nozzle. They are right below the serial number. -

EUREKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The mesh is "aux_door_R" I am giving Spinners credit for this one, as I found it in one of his Spey Phantom mods. -

I did, that isn't it. The auxiliary intakes only open when the landing gear is extended. -

Thanks. I intend to use it on my RAAF F-4M (an accompaniment to my RAN F-4K) -

Spinners, could you tell me what font you used for the serial numbers? -

Yes. I am using a widescreen monitor (16:9). In game (and as a desktop background), it stretches and looks correct. Outside the game, it looks squished. -
Left-hand side national markings not showing

New update: The problem appears to be restricted to the Royal Australian Air Force, and the Royal Australian Navy Fleet Air Arm. -

Update: I just tried a few stock aircraft that I've never used before. They do not have a problem. -

I was using the same nation. I used only "insignia", and reversed the left-hand side, it displayed perfectly. Then I removed the reversal, and it still displayed perfectly. This issue is getting truly strange. I am not sure that the coding is really the problem. It happens on DLC, and mod aircraft. Besides, if it is the problem, then the solution is to manually recode every aircraft. I am going to check a few more aircraft just to be sure. -

This is an F-4K Phantom II in the markings of the Royal Australian Navy. 805 and 808 Squadrons are portrayed. F-4J loadouts are used. The aircraft has been tested in a merged SF2 installation, patched in August 2012. Incidentally, I'd suggest also getting Wrench's HMAS Australia (SCB-125 "What If") located here: http://combatace.com...cb-125-what-if/ Backstory The RAN proposed the acquisition of Essex class carriers to the Government in 1964 to replace the Majestic class HMAS Melbourne. The aircraft the RAN proposed was the F-4B Phantom. Operating an F-4B from the relatively small deck of an Essex class carrier is problematic, to say the least. On the other hand, the extra power of the Spey-engined Phantom would enable the operation of a Phantom from such a small deck. For further on this (including the RAN proposal itself) see the following: - http://www.secretpro...hp?topic=8449.0 For an alternate backstory, see this page on my wikia site: - http://themarshall.w...-4K.2FM_Phantom Installation ***********NOTE: TK's F-4K Phantom II from the DLC Store is required for this mod*************** - Copy the contents of the Aircraft folder into your Aircraft folder. - Copy the contents of the Decals folder into your Decals folder. No new weapons are offered. During the timeframe of this aircraft, the Royal Australian Navy used standard US Navy non-nuclear weapons. Credits TK - For the SF series of games, the F-4K DLC, and the F-4J template skin. Sundowner - For the Spey nozzle grafted on to the F-4J skin. Spinners = For the squadron decals from his RAN F-8E Crusader. -

It may be a good idea to take this in another direction. When the RAAF proposed purchasing all 23 remaining F-4E's, one of the grounds for refusal was the need to disband a Mirage squadron to provide the aircrew (1 and 6 Squadrons would transition from the F-4E to the F-111C after delivery of the latter). I would therefore suggest AA loadouts and using Mirage Squadron markings. During the mid-1990s, you could have the aircraft undergo an ICE-style upgrade. The APG-65 radars would come from F/A-18s (the radar part of HUG being done earlier). This could combine with the Egypt 1 colour scheme, or the light grey ICE Phantom scheme. -

Strange control issue
Sheriff001 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing a strange issue with controls. Regardless of how I map the controls, the "Fire Selected Weapon" button does not work, and it reads the "Next Air to Ground Weapon" as "Next Air to Air Weapon". Has anyone else experienced this issue? Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve it? -

It worked! Still unsure as to why it happened. The only possibility I can think of was that I started the program without my stick plugged in. -

I've found a possible resolution. The changes I was making were not reflecting in the default.ini file in the /Controls folder. I've made the necessary changes in the file directly using Notepad. Wait Out.
