The Mirage IIIC is a lot of fun in the 60s - simple to use and fast. -

can you make a NA only install?
MigBuster replied to whiteknight06604's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have a separate SF2NA + SF2E install as well - I just installed them to a different location by changing the paths when installing it on the install box. In my case I didn't want some of the NA features in the older games. -

YAP Vietnam Era Carriers in SF-2NA Standard
MigBuster replied to paulopanz's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
These carriers are only available to buy with YAP2 missions - not sure which ones - problem is a lot of them were done with static objects over the deck so they couldn't be used for landing and taking off (they used 2 models per mission) I've no idea why versions for Vietnam era campaigns could not have been done and sold separately - unless they were hoping to use the models in another commercial venture. -
If only....

Posted on the BMS forum today: ........ I have always admired those developers, and have always wondered why they would commit so much time to their love of Falcon, despite the community at times, despite the challenges, and despite the overwhelming learning curve. I'm telling you, these guys are good. So, it is with a great sadness, after all these years, that I was informed about the closing of FreeFalcon. I asked Steve if I could write this on behalf of FreeFalcon, and he was happy to let me do this. FreeFalcon will be missed. There will be lots of questions asked, and probably never really answered as good as they could be. Such is the life of a development stream sometimes. However, mark this day on your calendar as one of the low days of Falcon. To FreeFalcon, you guys are remembered, and honored, and welcome to our boards. And I would personally like to Thank You for your service to the promise of a dream.

Correct AFAIK - Free Falcon may have had some arrangement going but that's only hearsay. Whatever it is now they have posted some source code up and have already moved to their second forum. The code was posted up under some kind of free licence - so I expect they may claim that most of the original code has been changed - bit dubious really. There is clearly been a split between the Free falcon team - because these other guys claim to be the "other" developers that were working on it.

Let's Play Strike Fighters 2
MigBuster replied to Slushie's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
See the loadout chart at the bottom of here http://www.thunder-a...ter/history.php - looks like only the Fireflash was trialled on a test F.mk4. Pretty sure the RAF never used AAMs operationally on Hunters - but if you find a source then please post it. You will find by default that the loadouts for every jet are normally historically accurate. (yes you can change it) -
What does it take to destroy an AEG bomber?
MigBuster replied to Slant6's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
They would need to crash or explode to be counted as a kill. -
One of the Free Falcon Guys has posted there telling them to take the site down....

Crikey well in FCs Wiki link it says: "According to the U.S. State Department, over 40 civilian aircraft have been hit with MANPADS since 1970, with about 400 passengers and crewmembers killed" But then again its Wiki so who knows

Let's Play Strike Fighters 2
MigBuster replied to Slushie's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
The only thing I have on normal is the HUD mode because that give me messages for airbrakes and gear - other than that no aids on screen and only blue jets show on the Map - yes you have to check your 6 a lot.
