With the V5 software you can set up a profile and define the exact keys you want to use for centering etc in the Track IR program then save it and allocate it to a game - or you can just alter the default profile if everything is using that. There are a few ways the program will minimise itself - you will see these in the Track IR options. You should have a propellor icon by the clock in the system tray (not the same as the desktop one) - make sure its not hiding itself by default because you have windows set up this way. If you are minimising TrackIR to the system tray you need to right click on this propellor icon and choose Minimise/Maximise to Tray. To shut the camera down right click on the icon and select Exit - you shouldn't be pulling out the usb connector or using task manager at all! If the camera loses the deflective dots - um assuming you are not getting interference from a reflected light source? this has to be handled by the Game. For example Falcon BMS has a key combo to start TIR if you forgot to.

Yes I was looking at the shq one - looks like a terrible accident - stills show a trim tab coming off!
-
and notice when you go near a cloud you get turbulence - reminds me of...um flying. You have jumped right in at the deep end - I have been going through the training missions - loads of new ones and pretty good fun - especially the Impossible landing one - which isn't so bad with the ILS! Loads of things to learn: Tried the datalink and got that working yesterday + looks like you have to define your own FLOT line now also. The altimeter will be incorrect unless you set the elevation manually or ask the tower for QFE. Avionics will now overheat if you dont set the airsource to norm HARMs now has 3 different firing modes! Looks like you can define pre planned threats in the DTC also The Point Track and Area mode on the TGP for LGBs are a bit of a pain against land targets I'm finding - works against ships okay Then there is the RWS SAM-TTS mode and all the new accurate symbology on the FCR! Oh have a good technique for deep stall recovery - and its very easy to put it into a stall now Warheads need to be manually cooled Camera views need minutes to warm up now.

Welcome back!
MigBuster replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Great Work Eric - glad to see its back -
Discovered the TFR by accident - and it seems to work mostly - need to check what the options do:
-
This TFR thing works in BMS 4:
-
Well I forgot to tick the BMS script option and it let me land it - seen here before driving into a revetment wall after trying to find the in cockpit beer can holder:
-
About a year after it comes out as retail and the bugs are ironed out I will be right with ya - but have fun Shove it on an SSD to make it load faster - win 7 loaded in about 7 seconds to the DT when I tried it (3 of them were the BIOS screen)
-
You could also try the last patch Nov 2008 - because SF1 patched to the last level worked okay. http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads.htm

Walmis munition models pack 1.21 cause crash on Win7 64
MigBuster replied to COBRACZ's topic in Falcon 4 Series
Never used that pack myself - if you are installing with LODEditor try running it with admin privileges and dont install the sim in program files. Janhas did some nice Weapon skins for AF if you need an alternative -
Well with the WWW the evidence is down in writing - and despite posters thinking they are anonymous because they can.....choose a screen name - they can often be traced relatively easily with cooperation from the Sites owners. This might be one way to boost arrest statistics....which is all that matters.

Hardware Spec to run SF series
MigBuster replied to getpeter's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The only way I can get good rates with series 1 which uses a single core only is to use the HDR mod - thats on an intel i7/6GB RAM/Ati HD5770. To improve on that you could get a High end GFX card - but cant guarantee Series 1 would actually be smooth. IMO - Ditch series 1 and go with SF2 which is actually programmed for multi core, win 7 and DX10 to get better performance out of modern systems. -
The ILS and radio were always there in AF, and the threat/MSL volumes. Managed to get the ILS thing working today and found out how to switch on and adjust the HCMS, and found the pitot heat switch. The Checklists someone has done on the docs folder are really handy for a lot of the things - even the ramp start - no end of new buttons to press - not convinced the BIT testing is really that worthwhile tbh - I suppose in a campaign I guess that and tire wear might come into it. Like the HAF block 52+ with CFTs they stuck in the flight test mission - shame it seems to die on me and nose dive into the ground

chkdsk on W7 startup deleted files ?
MigBuster replied to squid's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I would just format the partition and put the stuff back in from your backup drive/disk. -

I was ill that day and wasnt getting up - but my dad came in and switched the TV on and said the trade towers had been hit. It was strange at first watching the smoke rise up from these towers - almost surreal - news were saying it was a small aircraft - and they were showing people at the top looking out of the windows. I thought they would probably put the fire out - which didnt look that big and then rescue the people at the top. I then remember watching people start jumping - but it was really when everyone saw the other airliner go into the other tower that really put everything into perspective. I never ever thought the towers would fall - the photo in the paper the next day of a fireman running up the stairs inside the towers is something that sticks in my mind......
