That is noted. I stil have the hopes in this and that the misunderstanding would be solved. It is understandable that they want to protect the ethical ways of doiing things and this is what we are dong and bring this up in an ethical way. However, thank you for the head up about what can happen. By the way, thank you for the supports in this, SF2 deserve to be given another chance to shine even brighter if we maange to mod the DLLs files, in order to allow us to add more features to it.

I want to add one more thing, if we are going to start looking into DLL files, we should create seperated theads that discuss about modifying each DLL files, such as avionics60.DLL, avioncis70.DLL, HUD.DLL, and any another DLL related to flighht model (like adding Gs limiters as an example), AI and etc... If we discuss about all DLLs in one thread, it would get quite chaotic.

Hello everyonem, My wfie and I are contiuning with our excellent health recover. Ther is onething I have been wondering about and that is DLL files. The reason why I am asking about DLL files editing / modding; SF2 is not maintained nor update for many years. It is modders that have been keeping it alive. I am in the wonderful community that have passions as I do for Jane's combat simulation series and weare modding it. Even though I am on break from SF modding, in order, to allow my eye recover, I was wondering if it is possible to edit one of ancient simulation file, such as Jane's Fighter Anthology .exe files, because of awesome active modding community. We honor the ethics by keeping mods free and sharing our hobbies, as we do in here combatace. So I was wondering how can exe be understood? Out of curiousity, I took a look at HEX editing and then used x32dbg diseassebly and realized that the codes coudl be read in an assemlby langauge. However, I am not that experienced nor famliar with it yet. At the same time, by using AI to interpret the codes (Whiel being well aware that AI is currenlty still flawed and alwasy give geneic responses, still now is good time to experiment with it, due to the rapid advancement of AI technologies.) However, there is one thing that came up as an idea; What if we could edit the codes in DLL files that allow us to have unlocked moddability of avionics, enabling Gs limiters, and something like that. But again, I am concdenred about it becauser I do not know what combatace community feels about it. This is precisely why I haven't touched DLL files yet. I want to ensure it is done in ethical ways. If we contiune on the very limited methods of modding (Only iini. editing and adding 3D models), then we are stuck with the same limitatino of moddings. The community is currently small. We want for communty to be alive and become bigger again, therefore is why I want to ask about it. There is no another simulations out there that did excellent jobs as Thirdwsire did with Strike Fighter 2, as well as Jane's combat series did, what they managed to create; - Low Fidelity simulation that is semi-realistic This means we do not worry bout 'study sim', but we are required to learn about the limitations and characters of each aircraft, weaopns, avionics, etc.. IT is not arcade like ace combat nor too hardcore like "Study sim" DCS. It is just golden balance. Even though SF2 is missing air to ground radar veatures in avionics aspect. - Moddiblity, SF2 in heart, is desigend to be most moddable sim out there, it would be wasted potiental if DLL wasn't studied to allow expanded modding in ethical ways. EDIT #1: I talked with oen of modders, he / she gave me an excellent ideas. What I understand is that historically, TK do not mind the modding, however as long his files wasn't shared. So the idea is to create the installer that would modify the DLL files and allow us to add an external files that would enable DLL to read? EDIT #2: I realized we also could use Wrapper DLL, it intercepts calls to the original DLL and modifies them as needed before passing them on. I would like to know what combatace feels about this. There are still features that SF2 is missing, which is included in Jane's Fighter Anthology: 1) Lockable Air to Ground radar for cruiser missiles. Jane's FA have more features with anything related to air to ground mode. I wish SF2 have that features. 2) Jane's FA also have excellent weapon loading screen while spliting between air to air and air to ground. I wish SF2 have more detailed ways of organizing loadout. We wish that TK would come back and work on expanding SF2 further, which woudl be awesome!

Hello everyone, It have been a while since I have posted here. I want to thank everyone for all the supports. My wife have been making remarkable recover with her health. We are continuing to work together on our health recovery. Not only she is working on healing her health, something happened to me as well. (My eye health just decided to go haywire again after going through stresful situations. It can't be helped and I have been making some progress on the healings through!) However, no matter what, we won't give up on the goal of being healed completely. I sincerely miss working on Saad - Zafir and SFCE projects. I do not know what the future will bring, however, when my wife and I are doing very well, I would be more than happy to work on both SFCE and Saad - Zafir project again. Even though my SF2 projects are halted for now, I still support the fellower modders when I can. For my limited free time, here is what I have found so far. I want to share some information I found about IAF / IDF Phantoms: It turns out that the earliest AAM they received are AIM-9D and AIM-7C and here is the source: USA - ISRAEL -Trade-Register-1950-2021.rtf

Hello everyone, I have to put the project on halt for now. The life situation suddenly changed. My wife is in hospital and I am doing everything to take care of the situation. I am happy to see more feedback! By the way, that is understandable. You have the reasons to state this. I am going to restore the limits of using sidewinder so you can’t load then if using bombs or rocket pods. As I state before, I learn new things everyday. And I appreciate your advice. Cheers!

Hello everyone! Report for today: I am still working on F-4s overhaul. it surprised me that each time I reearch on various F-4s, they come out with information that surprised me. For example, UK phantoms have the ability to use Sidewinders while loading twin rocket pods at the same time. TW UK F-4s did not allow that. Now that is fixed. You may have installed in the wrong orders or missed the specific patches. I can understand that not having SF2 complete edition, there are too many steps installing SF2 + expansion pack + DLCs + patches. Therefore, it is easy to get lost in it. I have been testing my mods, it did not cause any problems. As stated, this mod is based on SF2 Complete Edition. Eagle114th

Ah I see, that may be a problem. You only have some DLCs. I recommend you to move only what you have in the Aircraft folder folder, instead of just moving all folders into SF2. As I have stated, I am building the mods with SF2 completed edition, which means SF2 + all expansion + all DLCs. Eagle114th

I don't mean SFCE; What I am meant to ask is if you have SF2 + All expansion + DLC or SF2 complete edition?

YOU ARE MY HERO! I just realized why it didn't work with F-4K and F-4K_75 while works with F-4K_80. F-4K and F-4K_75 is Royal Navy while F-4K_80 is Royal Air Force. And by seting Exported to True, now it works with ALL F-4K (both RN and RAF)! I see now, UK is an unique code designed to have weapons working with both RN and RAF at the same time. I am joyed now! Thank you very much for the help. I learned an important lesson today. Cheers!

May I ask, do you have SF2 + ALL expansion pack + ALL DLCs? I just realized I forgot to add to the readme stating that this mod is bieng built with SF2 Complete Edition. Eagle114th

I think you installed the mods in the wrong way. I recommend you to clean theSF2 mod folder and start over. Make sure you read the README carefully. Eagle114th

The problem with F-4K and F-4K_75 is that if you use SpecificStationCode, their weapon station no longer works or the weapon does not show up on the loadout screen, even when you change the nation or attachmentType. I am able to use SpecificStationCode with F-4K_80 successfully. That surprised me. Hence I think that F-4K and F-4K_75 are glitchy and need patches to fix it. Eagle114th

This is even more strange; My new codes posted abover does NOT work with F-4K or F-4K_75. It still work with F-4K_80. TW F-4K and F-4K_75 are glitchy. F-4K_80 is stable. So be careful when messing with F-4K and F-4K_75 weapon station codes. I am not going to mess with any UK F-4s, I'll leave them be and only tweak the loadout. Eagle114th
