  1. I spy with my eye that your Texas ANG has assigned markings of the 111th FIS. 111th did not have a band with Texas State on it at the time of Mustangs. and definitely not red. At this time they had a blue top of the tailfin and wingtips. Years later blue band with a state shape appeared on F-80 and T-birds and on one Skytrain (maybe also on some support airframes). Even F-81H (after the squadron returned from Korea mostly had blue fin tops/wingtips. Briefly, F-80 had blue trim with a Texas state shape on the fin and Texas State Seal / 'Ace in the hole' on the nose sides...After that, a blue band with an 'ace in the hole' - 111th insignia was introduced The red band with the Texas state shape was a marking of the 182nd FIS/FS. in fact, the displayed number on your TEX-ANG is 44-74656 P-51D-30-NA - served in 127th Pilot Training Group until 1952(?) here is a photo from the airshow... 182nd Squadron Mustang D-25-NA 44-72773....check the contrast of red trim compared to blue one on another aircraft -F-80 - which belongs to 111th FIS...and then noteworthy is F-84E - which is just display aircraft as 111th did not use thunders after service in Korea...(blue band on the tail is also wrong - during service in Korea they had slanted blue band outlined in black with 'ace in the hole' badge - but this is a different story already)
  2. Cold East Ground Objects Bonanza Vol.1

If modern means mid 90's then some of them yes. If something beyond that - I suppose - not really. I m focusing on old and older stuff.
  3. I have Tatra 813 and 815 vehicles (and 148) so at some point I will get into it. I think Vol.5 will focus on Polish/Czechoslovakian/East German models. But nothing fancy mostly trucks, radars etc. For now, I have Akacya, some towed guns/howitzers, SA-5, vehicles based on MAZ chassis (which can be a lot!), and a few more on already existing chassis (SA-6, SA-4) Vol.4? no peeking...

The second part of Cold East Ground Objects Bonanza mods for the SF2 series game. First of all. This is not entirely a 'Plug and Play' mod. Yes, some objects will appear in the game right away, but some will not - because some objects are meant to be used via the target editor. In general, the whole mod is built for terrain enhancement - a lot of objects should be added in terrain TYPES and TARGETS. But of course, some like tanks, SAMs, AAA, etc will appear automatically in the game. Having this in mind this mod is mostly for terrain builders, modders,, and experienced users. If you are hoping for quick-click plug-and-play - this is not for you. All objects have destroyed models added. Gun files should be taken carefully - they are slightly modified by guuruu with decreased performance. I believe all the gun files are provided and you should have them already, if I forgot something - well it happens sometimes. Sorry for that. Part two contains mostly air-to-air defenses. SA-2, SA-3, SA-9, SA-8B, SA-13, SA-7. Again those SAMs are not really plug-and-play mods. I have made them in groups (SA-2A, SA-2B, SA-3, etc...) each group contains EWR, SAM_RADAR, and SAM_LAUNCHER. It is up to the player to pick and choose the desired system for a specific mod, terrain, etc. all except SA-2 use new weapon models. SA-2 uses an older model that was available for years already. (for now, I have no patience to finish my models) All objects have destroyed models added. Gun files should be taken carefully - they are slightly modified by guuruu with decreased performance. All of the skins are green, I added a few camo versions and a few extra but just for specific objects. NO Tan/Desret scheme. This might come in a more specific mod for specific terrains in the future. Userlist ini files are just there but they might need editing for your own use. If you have similar models from me - released years ago - do not mix them up. I recommend deleting all old files. Here you will find new updated models. Under any circumstances DO NOT mix these objects with ODS 30Aniversary Edition mod. ODS30AE objects are exclusive for ODS and differ in many ways from Cold East Ground Objects Bonanza. 5. Cold East Ground Objects Bonanza Vol.1

I forgot to add that all tanks equipped with an anti-aircraft gun have it disabled. Simple edits in the data file can turn it on. AA guns are off as it is not realistic to provide anti-aircraft fire during the combat engagement.

  8. Well, you will be surprised how color can be deceiving in black/white photos. Years ago (for a few years) I had some experience in restoring polychrome paintings (churches etc...) and many times what we had on the oldest available reference photos (suggesting dark colors) was nothing compared to what we discovered on-site on the walls already Light (and reflection) during taking photos can be a pain in the arse.
  9. Yup, Wrench's Ponys are quite accurate. Checkers were present on some airframes, but never bothered to explore a topic more. Guess it is a post-war unit airframe) very early they have usually NG above the serial number on the tail fin. Somewhere around 1948 ANG above serial started to appear. Also in the immediate post-war era markings were usually applied on top/bottom wings, not on the fuselage. Some units started to display Star'n Bar on the fuselage around 1947. On fuselage around Star'n Bar first was NG (example TEX * NG) and then again around 1948 ANG...(TEX * ANG) On starboard top wing NG- plus last 3 serial numbers, and bottom port wing same This one has checkers like the 78th FG. - But checkers go nearly all the way to the windscreen. I would not rely on photographs of restored airframes/museum examples they tend to be quite inaccurate. As we all know.
  10. possibly both, but maybe depends on the year. Did some research on 111th from Texas. And I thought they changed colors. But turns out that colors were wrongly interpreted from blac&white photos. - Which leads to repeating mistakes over the years .
  11. one animation for a cargo weapon station and another animation for another 'paratrooper" weapon station. It will work. Plus proper HideNode= / ModelNodeName= / GroupLimit= ini entries will do the trick... Will look silly in 3d max but it does not matter in the game. It will work.
  12. Movable parts as elevator, rudder, wheels propellers etc...are animated via data.ini file. You need to cut out all glass openings (windows, windshield etc) then fill it with new node with assigned transparent material. If you are working in 3dmax I can send you (tomorrow or monday) sample of finished aircraft. So you can have a look and perhaps better understanding of the matter.
  13. Well, it is much easier to build up a new model than extract and work on an old lod. Just to be clear. Yes, we can 'hack' models from the game. Not going to name tools anyway. But it is crap, and not worth the effort.
  14. I. When you will start modeling then you will know how it works. Start with the front panel and then..suddenly you want to do every single screw and switch. And believe me from point of view person who made one or two pits. This is the best part of aircraft modeling. Countless hours spent over the manuals and bazylion pictures for reference - this is fun, educational fun. The only comparable part of modeling is researching serial numbers - the second thing that we love to do. The ultimate lesson of history. And in the end, after all the hard work you put in you will feel absolutely fulfilled. Even if many users do not give a damn if a switch is in the right position (or if there is a switch at all). Even if it is hard to see appreciation from the end users. (a very common thing for the last few years). Still, we going to do 'the thing' our way.
  15. Not sure if that matters in the game at all since we are flying. But I can work on it. Simple ini edit or simple ini edit and weapon model. and special for you Czech built T-55AM2
  16. I will make it with clean - unpainted rubber just for you. Just in case. I know that there is no point in painting it...but still, it was also observed with paint. One in Kubinka Museum has it painted. One in Polish Museum in Warsaw has it painted. Many in the Czech Republic I observed were unpainted. and AMV one painted one untouched rubber. The best thing is in many scale model kits those side skirts come made of metal... And a way to recognize the version on a blurry picture. All early T-72 Urals with 80-105-20 glacis armor has 4. Ural-1 produced between 1975-79 with 60-105-50 armor has 3 anti-ricochet bars. And 2 bars on T-72A and on export Object 172M-1-E5 and E6 - to put it simply T-72M1 (16-60-105-50 glacis armor)
  17. yes, I know. But it can also be painted, right? In fact, steel-reinforced (Interwoven textile)
  18. all quiet on the eastern front... T-55AM, T-55AMV, 9K52
  19. generally, there is a safety limit when you can deploy airbrakes. When, during flight, dive, etc speed exceeds the limit, hydraulic system kicks in and will close the airbrakes.
  20. tell me I am wrong...but looks like Dassault M2000 D and N combined are winning by one point... come on ...Let us make Dassault great again! But honestly, I would vote for Su-22 or ...KC-10 <--- do not take it so seriously
  21. maybe it is possible. We just need to be more creative... TK's ultimate goal - make all those lazy gamers more creative...
  22. Why not use templates...you can make any color you want..
