Do you have "GunTypeName=8MM_HOTCHKISS_M1909" in your Gun Dat.ini (FE) or Gun Folders (FE2) ??? -

You have to add the "Hotchkiss" MG sound to the SoundList.ini file. This file is located in the "Flight" folder once you extract it. -
India/Pakistan Hi-res tileset 1.0 & India-Pakistan Terrain Tweeks Pak?
Panama Red replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
You should always use the XXX_data.ini file of the last mod installed, or that mod may not work correctly. -
Moving the mod folder?
Panama Red replied to SebastianP's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
You can easly move your mod folder, because I have moved all of mine from "C" drive too.. 1. You need to copy your current mod folder to your prefered location. 2. You then either delete the mod folder on "C" drive and then create a new clean mod folder (with the minimum required TW folders), or delete the extra items you have put into the TW "C" drive mod folder. 3. Go into the original TW "C" drive "Options.ini" file and change the three references to the old "C" drive mod to your new "X" drive mod location. Example: Directory=C:\Users\ev10555\Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2 Eastern Front, change to Directory=X:\Users\ev10555\Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2 Eastern Front -
Thank you and looking forward to your new Armchair Aces update.

"Alt+D" -
All games have their strong points. RoF is the "flight models", OFF is it's "campaign" and FE/FE2 is it's "modability". I currently have four different FE2 theaters, Western Front, Eastern Front, Italian Front and Middle Eastern Front, while RoF and OFF only have one each. Also my FE2 Western Front has over 200 different planes or variations, and more are being made all the time. With RoF or OFF, you only have what the Devs allow you to have, not what the rest of the community can contribute. It is easy to add new items, planes, terrains to FE2, you just have to read the SF1/SF2 Knowledge Bases and understand where all the new stuff goes. I use a TrackIR 4, so a TrackIR 5 should work with no problems too.

Effect Sounds
Panama Red replied to RAVEN's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Anything other than engine sounds needs to be in the "soundlist.ini". for SF2/FE2. -

You can use either FE or FE2 with Windows 7 (I have Win 7 and both play). The big difference is FE2 is made for DX10, it uses dual cores (which means double the FPS) and the AI is better.

Trees
Panama Red replied to krfrge's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This is normally caused between a conflict of the Terrain_data.ini file, tree TOD or Tree.bmp files. One or more do not match with the rest. -
Just had to do a System Restore on my PC! Argh!
Panama Red replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Beautiful work as always quack74. Sorry to hear about the "loss" and I agree it is very frustrating when the old PC does not cooperate and causes massive headaches with all the hard work invested into a mod. -
Adding Nucs to loadouts.
Panama Red replied to TheWarrior's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
You have to check the weapons type in the Weapons_data.ini file and make sure it matches the pylon or bomb bay weapon type. -

Question on adding Campaigns & Missions
Panama Red replied to Race's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
You start off by reading the SF1 Knowledge Base since SF2 is built on top of SF1: http://combatace.com/forum/99-thirdwire-strike-fighters-1-series-knowledge-base/ After reading the SF1 Knowledge Base, you then read the SF2 Knowledge Base which gives you specifics to what is particular to SF2. You will see that the information you are requesting has already been posted for all the other people just starting the SF1/SF2 series. -
Use this and everything is alrady done for you: http://combatace.com/files/file/13747-office-the-incomparable-campaign-engine-for-over-flanders-fields/

Weapons Prob in MTO
Panama Red replied to usafphantom2's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
Do I understand that you have SF2 and messed with the Weapons.data file. If you did, that is a no, no. Any weapons added in SF2 uses the "folder" method or you create problems. -

SF2 !!! -
quack74: That is really great to see that seaplane taking off from the water, it really opens up more possibilities for this game. Since you only mentioned FE in your post above, does this apply to FE2 also ??? Edit: To answer my own question, yes, you can land and take-off from water in FE2 also.

How to preload the aircraft?
Panama Red replied to Pilot94's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
It could be a multitude of items: 1. Proper nation for the weapon 2. Correct years for plane/weapons 3. Proper length, width, mass for weapons at the designated weapons station 4. Proper link between loadout number and plane weapon station 5. Proper weapon type per the plane weapons station -
The bigger question is: can any seaplanes actually land on the water in FE/FE2 without being destroyed ???
