I love the demo for it's terrain visuals. I can't buy it, they still don't accept paypal :( But the visuals are the best so far IMO. The only thing off is simplified damage model. But I'll let speak someone who has it.

Main goal of this mod is to add dense tree coverage to the Vietnam map. New in the 2.0 are the heavily populated city tiles. Most of the files from 1.0 have been remade, adjusted or added. Quick summary: -Three levels of detail for you to choose from. -All new jungle graphics -Cities, the way they should be. More or less :-) -Objects numbers per tile vary from x2 up to x4 more than in GH. -All foliage graphics replaced by new, better blending with the terrain textures, and in higher resolution. -More detail added to the villages, as an attempt to create better looking settlements, but still limited to what Terrain Editor can offer. -Generally nicer views, lower framerates ;-) Click here to download this file

This is tree mod and tiles update for OTC 2 Cuba terrain. Apart from adding varying coverage of trees, I've also did some retiling, to introduce new tiles for visuals improvement, and to avoid spawning of trees in the wrong place, eg. on runways, also not to have some targets in dense jungle, rather on less covered grounds. As some of you might notice, I was away from CombatAce for last two months. Slight burnout Dave and FC wrote about in other thread. Anyway I'm back with this one. It's high resolution (high being 1024x1024) 5 seasonal tilesets for SF2E GermanyCE map. Yes, it's the same I posted first pics of 6 months ago -but then I gave up on this mod. Twice. Recently I decided it's too much work done to waste. All textures are new, repainted in the style of original Thirdwire's tiles. Very little satellite imagery used, mostly for forests and parts of city textures. I decided to give the fields more variation, so it could be possibly used on other terrains without that central european feel to it. There are 5 tilesets included: spring - summer - autumn - winter - hard winter the winter tileset being used twice, serving as sort of thaw before spring one too. Included is heavily reworked -or in fact new for most part- treemod/citymod with slightly better graphics and more trees. City buildings have been scaled down by about 50% to more realistic size. Trees are the x2 ones -this way they give more lush appearance to the terrain. As I decided to introduce new fields in place of empty grass textures, areas around all airbases had to be retiled with new textures. I hope I included all of them, also the new ones included with Nato Fighters 4+ addon. Some additional tiles for mountains and forests were added too. New GermanyCE.TFD included Status: Part 1 -including summer, winter and hard winter plus all the objects and inis -uploaded Part 2 -fall and spring sets -uploading

Hello Sokol! ad.1 -these aren't exactly roads or streets, more like field road between fields -I wrote in readme that I wanted to keep the mood of original Thirdwire textures, in fact I painted most of my new textures over (resized) original ones, including the fields layout ad.2 -I know, been several times in Germany as a kid (my aunt still lives in Karlsruche, my dad worked in Leipzig some time), but as an architect in real life I hate to put in flatroof houses (frostrating engine limitation), there was version with slightly different cities and villages at some point but I scrapped that version, maybe in update, but other projects have bigger priority now (you'll like those projects I hope) here's saved shot of the other cities idea that I dropped in the process: again, maybe in some update -

The last version you send me has Vietnam_xx naming, perhaps I've missed newer one. The one I have is the version I did trees for around May or June '08 -dull brown one (not in a bad sense, still looks good) As for models -I think Zur's or GMG's models are of enough fidelity, in fact Zur's Sabre was the best looking aircraft 3D wise for this series for years! -
Sure thing JM, I was pointing out that "old series" engine hits it's limits at some point, anyway in my case it did, the next gen updated rendering pushes it further. And roger-roger on the second one

quack74, just to let you know that the jet titles had no updates/patches for more than TWO years between '06 and '08. And if you ask me what's the point buying FE2? There would be tons of things in the inis to discover, but most important feature will be Advanced Shaders -no point in having good rig when you have 20 fps maxed out (my case with heavily modded SFP1) -with advanced shaders it goes up to 70-ties in SF2! All on unlimited. And this does it for me just fine. If you expect new planes or mannable gunners seats, well, you won't find these in FE2 AFAIK. And no collidable trees, this one's a downer for me
