No need to apologize. I'm sure there are faults and errors in. Sometimes there is very little information available, sometimes it's typos, sometimes it's bad references. Even in the pictures above are 2 or 3 errors (I already fixed those). But I try to be precise. Here's another case for "very little information" and therefor maybe faulty. Seem like the paintjob for the next deployment of VA-112 (18. Nov. '67 to 28. Jun. '68) is exactly the same, but I also have a photo with a bright yellow stripe, which doesn't make any sense and where the color is probably not changed from the former deployment (with Modex 2xx = bright yellow). Those are the first-world-problems I encounter while doing this. ;) VA-112 (Bombing) Broncos, 11/1966 - 6/1967, USS Kitty Hawk, A-4C
  2. For those, who are interested - here's a simple object I made in Blender and converted to LOD. SimpleObject - BlenderToLOD.7z Included is the Source-File for Blender v2.79, Textures , UVmaps and the resulting LOD.
  3. You can have 1 picture, that contains the whole plane OR split parts into separate pictures for the textures. If you have 1 picture, than you have to UVmap everything to that one picture. If you want 2 or more, than you have to map every part to their own picture. If you split your mapping into separate parts, then you could make 1 file for the fuselage, a second one for the wings and maybe a third for the tailplane. You need a separate material for each mapping though (I started to name them accordingly - in that example you could use: MaterialFuselage, MaterialWings, MaterialTail). In the picture above I used 1 texture for the whole model, as it's a target drone and rather small. So everything fits on the canvas and it is still big enough to add some details (The texture file's dimension is 4096x4096 pixels). Here's the full picture of the texture (without the orange paint for better visibility):
  4. You have to apply a material and the actual texture-files (Textures, Specular Maps and Bump Maps are possible, but only Texture is needed): Values to start with are: For the Texture: check only --> Influence - Diffuse - Color = 1.00 For SpecMap: check only --> Influence - Specular - Intensity: -0.5 For BumpMap: check only --> Influence - Geometry - Normal: 1.0 All other values are default-values and other options are not supported (I think).
  5. Drones ;) AQM-37A Jayhawk Targetdrones Just a little sideproject to keep me motivated. AQM-37-model made by me with Blender. Inspired by > this < picture.
  6. Please reduce the size of your text to a usual level. Thanks.

It's dark green, yes. That one is done already...see above.

Thanks for that info! I just found some info, that around 1969 some colors were changed (for example 700 to insignia blue). But I found nothing, what the rule was before 1969.

Does anyone have a goodsized picture of the Snake on the tail of VA-86 (1965 on USS Independence)? Drawing of VA-86s A-4E, 1967 A small update with some new skins: VA-34 Blue Blasters, 5/1967 - 12/1967, USS Intrepid, A-4C VA-36 Roadrunners, 10/1965 - 6/1966, USS Enterprise, A-4C Squadroncolor on this one is a guess, as I found only 1 color-picture with (the tailstripe not visible). The roadrunner may also be black instead of blue. Nothing for rivetcounters. VA-36 Roadrunners, 6/1968 - 2/1969, USS Intrepid, A-4C VA-23 Black Knights, 3/1965 - 11/1965, USS Midway, A-4E VA-23 Black Knights, 7/1966 - 2/1967, USS Coral Sea, A-4E CAG: Line: Have fun! (82 Skins done, 53 Skins to do)

My brain is simply to small to keep all the infos and details. Even with the spreadsheet things get lost sometimes. You should never get old!

Thanks for the kind words. Seems like, theres still some interest in those skins. You'll need patience though...as you can see, there's still enough to do. Hangarscreens and stuff like that are also still missing for many skins. Green = Skin ready Dark Green = same Skin for 2 variants needed (for the faulty SF2 upgrade-function in campaigns -> only plane OR skin can be upgraded) Blue = 2 Skins for 1 deployment (gray + camo) Orange = older skin in lower resolution has to be reworked. White = not done yet. Nevertheless, I just found some more skins in a backup: VMA-214 Black Sheep, 6/1965 - 2/1966, Chu Lai AB, A-4C VMA-214 Black Sheep, 3/1966 - 4/1967, Chu Lai AB, A-4C VMA-223 Det. T Bulldogs, 10/1964 - 5/1965, USS Yorktown, A-4C VA-56 Champions, 11/1966 - 7/1967, USS Enterprise, A-4C VA-212 Rampant Raiders, 10/1964 - 5/1965, USS Hancock, A-4E

Nothing done for this community, but "wanting" stuff badly... That's the spirit.
  14. Hey Andy, thats bad...sorry to hear that. But good to see, that you're fine. I hope you're get some free days around X-mas.
  15. Then stop talking on what has to be and what the reality is like and start changing the hell out of SF2 to your liking. But keep in mind: this will include trial and error and other timeconsuming parts on your end. I just mention this, because thats the part many "talkers" didn't want to see in the near past...

  19. Maybe the guy notices, that his style is kinda "special" then.
  20. Excuse me, if you've got problems with your eyes, then just ignore my rant. Otherwise please consider using the textsize everyone else is using...
  21. Trying to create a somewhat reasonable stand-in cockpit here...we'll see, if it works.
  22. Good to hear that. Unfortunately ini-edits don't work with LODviewer...you have to fire up SF2 for every small bit you changed to check. I'm currently rearranging a cockpit too and in the last week I started SF2 more than in the whole last year. You can use LODviewer for measuring the approximate distances though, if you move instruments around on the panel.
