  1. Those Flanker's were way too close in the fight as well, like a WWII dogfight. Overall great approach to what a dedicated hardcore Super Hornet Sim could look like. An updated Falcon 4 level Sim if you know what I mean. Sadly the fighter market isn't there for a Sim like that or should I say this is what we're lead to believe.
  2. No problem. I already have Jane's F/A-18 (the original box as well). Haven't tried it under W7. I don't remember the back seat being simulated when I used the sim so many years ago. Never really got into it for some reason.
  3. Great theme. There's too many choices around. I was going to go with another one but this one seems to be the best for me.
  4. I agree but can you imagine a dedicated Super Hornet Sim with some of these features. You could either fly front seat or back seat totally with one or the other jobs fully simulated. I was surprised in this day and age they bothered to do the research they did on the Super Hornet. This type of game didn't require any of this. Kids would have been fine flying outside behind the plane like most other titles for the Xbox or PS4.
  5. Just wondering who originally made the 3.2 Super Hornet WoZ, Blk visual model. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the answer to this.
  6. oops, I was at work when I thought about asking the question. Thanks anyway guys (and they say there's no 'Stupid' question )....
  7. Anyone know where the setting is to adjust how far you can turn your head in the virtual cockpit?
  8. Thanks, someone answered this in another thread but much appreciated just the same.
  9. FA-18 Series Update by The Hornet Team

Thanks for the update. Great job guys.
  10. Awesome pics, looks like a great project on the way.
  11. Is there a way to adjust the amount of lift flaps produce on a given model? I find myself having to trap the carrier with a short final speed of 200 knots as I don't have enough lift from the flaps to come in slower. Another thing is I need more strength from the catapult to get a fully loaded Super Hornet off the deck properly. Barely getting to 130kts versus 145kts to 160kts. Thanks in advance.
  12. Imagine looking around the cockpit with TrackIR. The edit to how far you can look around is what we are looking for. Thx.
  13. Can you manually control your flaps? How is it for you getting off the deck? I'm finding with a moderate load (AA setup with one fuel tank) I have to use way more afterburner than I saw the guys use on the real carrier (granted when I was in only the F/A-18C was in use). 3.5 seems to struggle when loaded up until it get's up to speed.
  14. Got it and totally respect where your coming from. Over time hopefully I can contribute as well.
  15. I agree the amazing things I've seen so far given away for free can't directly be criticized but more so appreciated. I just needed an answer to my problem. I expanded on that from years of experience in seeing the direction some developers take to build their creations, it's a valid observation. I've seen this for 20+ years, it's not a slam to mention it. Sometimes techniques are used in old ways where newer approaches achieves better results with better performance. Just because you give something away doesn't alleviate you from making something quality especially if you want/expect your work to be appreciated. If your just giving away junk for the sake of it then who cares (even if it's criticized). That being said the Super Hornet is not junk (in case you think that's where I'm going) but let's face it there's no visual difference in the older model versus the BlK version. I mean that's what we're going for right??? I'm not seeing the extra detail the F4 posted here has. So rightly so I don't understand why it runs slower on my machine than the older model. No one is slamming the effort it just doesn't make since. Eric, I figured out the issue on my end or should I say found a work around.
  16. Just like any other community the add-ons for a particular platform are given by people who have allot of love for the hobby. All too often when a question is asked the developer takes it personally. All I wanted to know was why performance was an issue with this particular model verses other offerings on my machine and I got my answer. I also got a fix for the issue that works on my system. If one never asks one never get's a problem solved. That being said did you design the flight dynamics for this model as well?
  17. Super Hornet 3.2 I hear you but 190 - 200kts is a bit fast even with a full load.
  18. That install plan is not going to work. I already have SF2: NA installed and configured just the way I like it. I guess I better go from the bottom up... Didn't work. It keeps rebuilding the MOD's folder in my C:\Local Profile location.
  19. Awesome information here, this thing (sim, community, add-ons etc) looks bigger than I thought it was. Is ThirdWire still in business in terms of active development with any new products on the horizon? What they've done with NA is fantastic that's why I'm asking. A big thing with applications is on-going development. As OS's change (Windows 10 will be out this spring) it's always nice to know our software can keep moving with the times. Another thing is the mainstream has log ago abandoned quality combat flying games. I cut my teeth on Combat games back in the 90's (Falcon 3.0, EF2000, DID's F22, JSF, Jane's F15/F/A18, F-14 Fleet Defender etc), it's great to be back. Communities like this keep products like Falcon 4.0 BMS going even though the original developer has long since left the building. I got into this because coming from the Navy myself in it's basic since when we trained in Red Flag this is what it was. SF's is not hardcore nor is it a video game. The right balance is there and you can add to it like each individual would want, to their specifications. This is what made Flight Simulator so successful over the years. Now that Microsoft is out the picture the community over there is struggling to find their way. Here it seems the community has more control of the basic platform versus a Lockheed Martin or Microsoft chain yanking the program. If I'm right SF has a more solid footing like Falcon 4.0 BMS. There will always be some modder that knows the code enough to make sure it works with whatever OS comes out in the future. Graphic wise the look is nice enough to stand the test of time. So thanks to everyone actively trying to show me the way in how to get the most out of this sim. I now have a solid path to get up to speed and the amount of help from you guys can only be rivaled by the GA sim community around Flight Simulator and P3D. I'm totally impressed all around...
  20. Wow, thanks guys. SF2 likes to have the mods folder on the C:\. I'd like to use another drive for these mods, is that possible? There's an original version. All I see on Thirdwire's site is Vietnam, Europe, Israel, and North Atlantic.
