As far as I know JG-9 had camo PF´s (one is on display @ Luftwaffen Museum Gatow). But maybe I´m not right...

Bis zur Außerdienststellung der F-104G wurden 1498 technische Änderungen am Flieger vorgenommen. Der G-Starfighter war wirklich überzüchtet. Aber ich finde, dass die "One 0 Four" eines der schönsten Flugzeuge ist welches gebaut wurde....

Da gebe ich dir recht! Aber die F-104G war nicht der Spitzenreiter in Sachen Abstürze / Flugstunden. Das wird oft ausser Acht gelassen. Man betrachtet immer nur die Zahl der Verluste. Man muss dabei allerdings auch beachten, dass der Starfighter in wesentlich höherer Stückzahl vorhanden war wie z.B. die Thunderstreak, welche eine höhere Verlustquote hatte wie der Starfighter...

Ja das war eine riesen Affäre damals, wenn ich das richtig im Kopf habe musste der verantwortliche Verteidigungsminister F. J. Strauss wegen der Affäre sogar seinen Hut nehmen. Der Starfighter war anfangs ein echtes Sorgenkind. Aber im Laufe seiner Dienstzeit wurden etliche Verbesserungen etc. durchgeführt. Schaue das nacher mal genauer nach...
