While I wait for the arrival of my WOFF DVD I figured I would take advantage of the holiday computer downtime (i.e., the family being over) to start the probable all day (or maybe two depending on the servers) download of the skin pack but that got me to thinking about the models... My understanding is that OFF skins will work in WOFF as long as the plane model has not changed. There is a huge library of custom OFF skins here at CombatACE, many quite beautiful, posted by Olham among others. Was there ever a list posted of which plane models have changed in WOFF making the OFF skins unuseable? P.S. Post from "smart" phone - Barmy Badge pending attachment.

WOFF overpriced. Is it just me?

"My favorite is a dynamic SP campaign flight sim in the tradition of Red Baron 3D. That's what I love about WOFF, it fills and exceeds that old void. If I could only take one flight sim with me to a desert island, it would be this one. " +1 -
I like how it's looking very much. I have always liked the "paper map" look when games and sims can pull it off.

Very cool and clever of you. Look forward to the final results.

Yes, for me 1917 kind of has all the drama. First part the Germans are mostly dominant, with the RFC given it their all. Middle part of 1917 the Allies numbers and new a/c make the field more equal and finally in the last part of the year, for the aforementioned reason the RFC has the upper hand. Several rather dramatic ground offensives and items in the political arena. Jasta 11 (the unit of MvR) I have read so much about the Jasta feels quite homey in addition to all the historical figures in it. The same for 60 Squadron...much history and home to many up and coming aces. Finally I have always liked the Alb DIII and Neiuport 17. Yep...1917 has it all for me though I will certainly give a FE 2 career a try in late 1916. Gotta have a 56 Squadron,Sopwith Camel, and BrF2B career in the summer of 1917 also. And finally a Sopwith Triplane in spring 1917. Hmmm...sounds like I had better live for another 100 years! Forgive my grammar. Posting from my new "smart" phone...

I thought the Devs stated that the weight/power differential between player and AI had been fixed and that all a/c are the same?

I am always fascinated with who and when people like to start campaigns with. Odd quirk on my part I suppose. I usually end up with multiple pilots in all my favorite aircraft but, dating back to RB3D, my very first campIgns have always been one in Jasta 11 and another in 60 Squadron both starting in March 1917. What are your plans on DVD arrival? Or for you lucky souls who already have it what are you flying?
-
Hmmm...I don't recall having this problem in OFF but if the AI pilots are always at full throttle in WOFF then I can see your problem in formation keeping.
-
I agree Fenris. Hopefully this "problem" is one of experience and will iron itself out. This was an old issue in RB3D in that the AI pilots fly the FM perfectly while a human cannot. We will see. Anyone else noticing this?

WOFF, and OFF before it, are the cheapest things I have ever purchased when you figure time spent playing and the enjoyment gotten out of that time. You boycott and I'll be flying an epic sim... and thanking the stars for the opportunity. -

OT--Stalingrad question...
DukeIronHand replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The mouse story is true...or at least an author wrote it up in a book Believe it was a kamphgruppe (or mAybe part of a division) commanded by Graz Bakke IIRC the name and spelling. Good lord...my smart phone is smarter than I am...Franz Bakke or something like that And the Germans did not ignore the winter. Because of a inadequate logistical system fuel, food, and ammo had priority over winter supplies and gear. With new sources on the Russian side since the end of the Cold War a lot of the accepted ideas of that theater must be reexamined. -

Oh yea...this little episode made me. PayPal fan. I literally jhad my PP account up and Avangate received payment in about 5 minutes. -

Well, PayPal was certainly quick and easy...took about 3 minutes...makes me regret wasting all that time with the bank and Avangate today! Think I will save the 4 GB d/l for the skin pack being released soon - dunno how long d/l'ing both on my poor satellite connection would take. Just got to wait for the WOFF DVD now... -

Well I got a "take two aspirin and call me in the morning" response from Avangate and, to rub salt in my wound, they sent another e-mail asking me to rate their customer service! Guess I'd better see about. Pay Pal Account -

Just talked to the bank. They claim that Avangate is not presenting them with anything TOO decline so they say it can't be them. Guess we will wait for Avangate to respond before I try another plan. -

DukeIronHand replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I remember the thread and I contacted the bank. They state it was "probably" blocked because it was an overseas purchase but they would authorize this one well...hours later...still nothing so I sent an e-mail yo Avangate and and will try my bank again. I didn't have any problems ordering OfF back in the day -
Avangate (if I spelled that right) seems to be having a difficult time processing my Bank of America issued debit card ergo WOFF is not en route. I know others had some difficulty with their cards - was this an easy fix?
-
I agree sir! Just waiting for the delivery of WOFF now.

Question for our historians...

Sounds reasonable. Thank you for the info.
