    Back just to revisit this thread, Just got done reading a book on the F4 phantom II's USAF mig killers 1972-73. Falcon missiles were practically useless, Sparrows were less than 15% fired to hit ratio, and sidewinders slightly less than that. That definitely isn't programmed in when you fly on the North Vietnamese side in the game, but at least you have a fighting chance of breaking missile lock unlike most of the other mods playing the red side. BTW I'm true blue American, just because I like to play on the Red side once in a while doesn't mean I'm a democrat, quite the opposite. Here's some of my toys, minus a couple on another part of the property.

    $100 for the whole package is well worth it IMO. Especially with all the mods you can pack on from here. DCS you pay what $50-60 bucks for the basic game and everything costs you $50 a pop here, $50 for a terrain. Plus it's so complicated at least for me, this is the flight sim that keeps on giving and I keep playing, middle of the road complicated. I've got a ton of flight sims, Janes and Microprose were state of the art at the beginning and frankly I still play Janes Fighters anthology now and then. I didn't even know about Strike fighters2 till fairly recently in the big scheme of things. Wish I had. Only thing I wish for is multiplayer to get finished.

    Hey guys, I somehow messed up somewhere in installing the Vietnam mods. Neither A6-a or B have the cockpit showing and on the B the cockpit is missing and both planes are black. Any Idea what I'm missing here?

    I use a HP Z620 with two cpu's(though Strike fighters 2 obviously doesn't use the second) Xeon E5-2670's@2.6GHZ up to 3.3 boost with a GTX1070 at 1920x1080 Not bad for old school gaming but lacking on unlimited setting especially in Vietnam Strike fighters2. I decided i needed to try NVME which the ZX20 series of workstations doesn't really support. I bought a Z440 for $150 with win 10 already on it. Bought a Team 4 GB NMVE and a cheap PCIE card to mount it on. Bifurcated the slot for 4x4x4x4 copied the os to the NVME. Bought a $300 new GTX3060 running at 3840x2160(yeah I'm a tightwad buying workstations to use) E5-2699v4 @2.2GHZ-3.3GHZ. But then I read you could use an I7 6900K even though it's not advertised by HP. So i grabbed a new one for about $100 and put that in. I went from single frames in unlimited settings in Vietnam to 60 average, 112 high and 21 low with a cheap ugrade in computer generation....Gonna grab another Z440 with a Xeon 1620v4 for my daughter and a GTX3050 so she game decently (big unreal tournament online fan@30years+ old lol). Will be buying another Z440 for my network and putting another I7-6900K in it as well as a NVME HD, and don't know what video card yet as they're insane prices going on now. But anyway point of my post is you can build yourself a cheap budget gaming rig with these workstations that will run everything but the biggest and greatest games.

    I've gone through several installs and reinstalls. Crashes everytime when I hit the button to start a campaign with either of the two jets. >Needs work< NOT. >I've followed the install instructions to the letter< NOT. The regular 2.0 falklands works fine. EDIT: Apparently I didn't follow the instructions to a T. Okay the mod maker contacted me and it turns out I went off halfcocked. Mod works great if you follow the instructions properly. Thanks for the mod!!

    Easy fix. Just delete the default controls file in C/users/ your computer/saved games/thirdwire/Strikefighter2 RED EDITION/ Then cut and paste your controls file in it's place from one of your other mods or plain jane installaion you have them all setup in already. You'll have your joystick all set up. Only problem I've really found is the menu's don't show up at the flash screen with the plane and sun. Roll across the left side and they show up.

    CUT Okay never mind the previous comments, I should read the instructions carefully, they could be a little clearer. One thing that's weird, on the splash screen with the plane and the sun, I didn't see the menus on the left side till I accidentally scrolled over them with the mouse. Joystick doesn't show up of course but that should be an easy fix I hope. Replaced the controller folder with another one can fly and use guns but my missiles won't fire. I don't understand the radar ect, but I haven't played in a while. Nice to see a russian mod where the plane doesn't get hit immediately after takeoff...That really is annoying in Desert Storm mod when you try to play the iraqi side.. Okay the missiles do fire. Everything is working. The instructions are all over the place but if you pay close attention with all the other things besides the read me. Could be better explained for newbies. Thanks to the modders, I appreciate the work. If I could figure out how to rate it again, I'd give it a 4 instead of the 3 I think I gave it.

    If you are experiencing the 80% crash check your C:\Users\"your computer name" \Saved Games\ThirdWire\OperationDesertStorm\ version for missing strikefighters2=TRUE as well as Israel and North Atlantic, if any of one of them is missing you haven't installed it, you might have moved it from another computer like the dummy I was.

    UPDATE: THAT WAS IT. I must have just copied Strike Fighter 2 from an old computer! It installed, I'm running everything at high except shadows and it looks amazing! Tried two campaigns, persian gulf with an ardvark, and kuwait with a skyhawk. I don't know how I got it to install in the first place with the missing key.     Yeah I read that all and I tried all the lowest settings since about 3pm. But I think I might have found the problem. Even though I paid for all the strike fighter series, I may have just copied strike fighters2 from another of my computers on my lan. So I uninstalled ODS again. Will be installing it shortly then I'll try reinstalling ODS. I could use some help though, there's four ISO's, how do they interact with each other? I don't quite understand, do I unzip all of them one at a time into the same place and overright each other?

    I've tried in 16 same thing. Missions works, campaigns it's either locks up at 80% or crashes to desktop 99 times out of a 100. I can't even find a readme in the download files. I've tried changing settings for 3-4 hours now. I'm about to toss in the towel. I've never had so much problems with 95% of the mods here..

    It won't install. I have all the Strike fighters2 legit. I installed them on my raid1 (e drive) because my C: drive is only 1TB. Do I have to move everything to my C: because all the strike fighter mods probably wont fit! Please advise, I had an older version of your mod installed and suddenly it started CTD, probably because of win 10 updates. EDIT: Finally got it to install by moving the installation files to my C: drive but crashes or locks up at 80% with my settings on high. I have a HP Z620 Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2670 0 @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz (2 processors) 96.0 GB Ram Nvidia GTX1070 Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 Installed on ‎6/‎25/‎2023 OS build 19045.4529 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19058.1000.0 This game used to work on the previous version you guys put out, but then all of a sudden it locked up or CTD at 80% so I uninstalled the previous version and get the same issue now. BTW why are there 4 downloads to do on this mod? I didn't do anything with the other 3. Hope to hear from you, cause I loved this mod when it worked.
