  1. The A-Team's Halberstadt D.III can also be used to create a Halberstadt D.II, and the Halberstadt D.V. Using different skins sets each variant apart: Use skins; 'Jasta 1' or 'Boelcke' for the D.II. DATA.INI changes: ServiceStartDate=06/1916 ServiceEndDate=04/1917 Use 'Jasta 11' for the D.III. DATA.INI changes: ServiceStartDate=06/1916 ServiceEndDate=04/1917 Use 'Jasta 22' or maybe 'Jasta 5' for the D.V. DATA.INI changes: ServiceStartDate=07/1916 ServiceEndDate=05/1917 The Martinsyde G100 Can also be turned into the Martinsyde Elephant. DATA.INI changes: ServiceStartDate=06/1916 ServiceEndDate=12/1917 Regards. Bucky
  2. I've been trying to upload a zip file to the First Eagles 'Sounds' section, but when I press the 'Add Submission' button, the page refreshes to; 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'. I had the same problem with a different file a few days ago, but after umpteen attempts it eventually went through. No go this time though. Anyone else having this problem? Regards. Bucky
  3. You could use this one for the Albatros: http://www.the-vaw.com/desktops/alba_desktop.jpg Remember to convert it from a jpeg to a bitmap first though.
  4. Hi guys. All German early two seaters looked the same, right? Well that's a simplification, but it's true that some of them were very similar in shape. After some research, checking out all the German two seater, 'Windsock Datafiles', I realised that by using the A-Team's excellent add on Aviatik C.II (which is actually a C.I, BTW), you can utilise it as both an LVG C.II, and a very passable Albatros C.III. For those that don't know how it's done, follow these steps VERY carefully, otherwise they won't show in-game: 1. Make a copy of the Aviatik C.II folder, then rename it; LVGCII 2. Rename the Aviatik DATA.INI from AviatikCII_DATA, to; LVGCII_DATA 3. Rename the Aviatik Config file from AviatikCII, to; LVGCII 4. Open the newly named Config file, then either copy and paste or edit with the following: [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=LVG C.II AircraftShortName=LVGCII AircraftDataFile=LVGCII_data.ini CockpitDataFile=AviatikC2_cockpit.ini HangarScreen=Aviatik_Hangar.bmp LoadoutFile=AviatikC2_loadout.ini LoadingScreen=Aviatik_loading.bmp (Make sure you delete the original text this has just replaced) 4. Open the LVGCII_DATA.INI and replace the 'MissionData' section with this: [MissionData] NationName=GERMANY ServiceStartDate=07/1915 ServiceEndDate=05/1916 AircraftRole=ATTACK AircraftCapability=DAY Availability=VERY_COMMON Exported=FALSE ExportStartYear= ExportAvailability= PrimaryRoles=CAS,STRIKE,ARMED_RECON,RECON SecondaryRoles= NormalMissionRadius=210 MaxMissionRadius=250 Ceiling=4500.0 MinBaseSize=SMALL HasRadio=FALSE (Again, make sure to delete the original text section.) Now, the next part is up to you, but I decided to allow this plane only one colour scheme. The most accurate, as far as I'm concerned is the skin titled 'Orange Square'. I deleted all the others. By doing this, it sets the plane apart from the Aviatik (so long as you don't use 'Orange Square' for the Aviatik, of course!). Finally, run the game to make sure your new LVG C.II shows up in the 'Available Aircraft' menu. If you want to fly it, an optional 'extra' would be to find a 1024 X 768 bitmap picture of an LVG C.II, rename it; Aviatik_Loading, and you'll have a nice loading screen for it too. I haven't done that because I only use these two seaters as AI. Follow the same steps to create the Albatros C.III, but replace the 'MissionData' text in the DATA.INI with: [MissionData] NationName=GERMANY ServiceStartDate=12/1915 ServiceEndDate=03/1917 AircraftRole=ATTACK AircraftCapability=DAY Availability=VERY_COMMON Exported=FALSE ExportStartYear= ExportAvailability= PrimaryRoles=CAS,STRIKE,ARMED_RECON SecondaryRoles= NormalMissionRadius=210 MaxMissionRadius=250 Ceiling=4500.0 MinBaseSize=SMALL HasRadio=FALSE IMO, the Aviatik skin that best suits the Albatros C.III, is either 'Alb' or Rumpler clv, so again, you might want to delete all the other skins, like I did. And as I said previously: Make sure that the Aviatik's default skin is different from both the Albatros and LVG. I thank you...
  5. Actually, if you think hearing an enemy pilot scream from too far away is a bit unrealistic, you can adjust the audible distance. Here's how: In the SOUNDLIST.INI, scroll down to the 'Scream' section. [scream] Priority=NORMAL Looped=FALSE NumBuffers=4 3DSound=TRUE DopplerEffect=FALSE MaxDist=100.000000 <---------------Rather than 100.00000 (which is 100 metres), try 50.00000 or so. MinDist=50.000000 InsideConeAngle=360 OutsideConeAngle=360 ConeOutsideVolume=0 More realistic I s'pose, but not as much fun, eh? I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
  6. Hi Stephen. Thanks for the prompt reply. First off, click on the link below and download the last file uploaded by Christian (post No.26)...It should sort out your upper wing Lewis problem. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php/topic/31995-nieuport-17-ghost-guns/page__st__20 Regarding the PC10 (or green/brown camo) Nieuports: If you like, I could send you some photos or colour profiles for reference. If so, please PM me with your email address. Thanks again. Bucky
  7. I hate to sound pushy, but if any of you skin job fella's have a bit of time on your hands, is there any chance you might take the Nieuports; 11, 16, 17 & 24 into the paint shop and give 'em a coat of RFC PC10? I'd be forever grateful!
  8. Yeah, nice skin...Well done! The Jasta and pilot of this machine are unknown, although it has been said it might be a Jasta 8 a/c?
  9. Dunno 'bout you guys, but I'm getting antsy waiting for this... Any news Jan?
  10. Really pleased you like it, Quack. Notice the shattering glass?...That's yer head going through the windscreen that is!
  11. Wunderbar! I'm really pleased you like it.
  12. I'm with you there Mike. Good fun as that mod no doubt is, historical accuracy is what I prefer. Hence, it's the only 'ground fire' mod that I haven't used. Also, for a bit more realism, I can recommend the little adjustment I made recently in deleting the bullet hit flashes and the long, thick yellow tracers...Much more authentic, if you ask me.
  13. If you copied then pasted my new 'GameObjectEffect' text into the 'AIRCRAFTOBJECT.INI', then you should delete the 'GameObjectEffect section that was in there already... This bit: [GameObjectEffect] ObjectFireEffect=AircraftFireEffect ObjectFireSound= ObjectExplosionEffect=AircraftExplosionEffect ObjectExplosionSound=SmallExplosion ComponentDetachEffect=AircraftDetachComponentEffect ComponentDetachSound= ComponentShrapnelCount=0 DamageShrapnelFactor=0.0 MaxDamageShrapnelCount=0 Did you do that?
  14. Glad to hear that, Don... Hi A6Intruder. My suggestion would be to go through the installation process again, making sure that those lines of text are exactly as they should be. Also make sure to delete any text section that the new ones replace. Report back will you, please?
  15. Bridges for Cambrai?...Now yer talkin'! I never venture south...Only ever fly the British sector.
  16. You guys do have Peter01's latest campaigns pack, don't you? It contains all the ground fire objects you could possibly want, IMO...Brings the ground war alive! Here's a link to it: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=9240
  17. Hi again Stary. So if I wanted to use just your balloon explosion effect, which files do I need to use? In Laton's effect pack there's an INI file called 'BalloonFireEffect', but I don't see that in your pack.
  18. Follow the installation instructions to the letter, then simply dive into the ground, or ram another plane. Let me know how you get on.
  19. Not sure I understand exactly what you mean, Adler... There are two alternatives with the rotary engine: 1. The early war type that had no throttle. Therefore, the 'blip switch' was used to slow the engine down. Using the blip switch, the engine is either off or on. or... 2. The later war rotary, which had a throttle, enabling the pilot to slow the engine revs down to idling speed. So if you want to idle the engine, you'll have to use the throttle. Hope that helps.
  20. Yeah, nice report, Mike. You're right...Once you have the game set up just how you want it, it's right up there with the best of 'em. In fact, using Peter01's (Gawd bless him!) flight models the AI aggression factor is probably the best there is!
  21. I Can't help you with the shadow thing, Adler, but if you want to add throttle to the rotary engine, edit the following lines in the plane's DATA.INI: [Engine] ReferenceName=Bentley 150 HP SystemType=PROP_ENGINE InputName=THROTTLE_CONTROL BlipSwitch=TRUE <----------------Change this line to 'FALSE' BlipThreshhold=0.95
  22. All the very best to you Laton. I hope you'll both be very happy. Going anywhere nice for your honeymoon? Hi Sinbad. Good to see you back, and working on another excellent project...Your contributions have been missed.
  23. Yeah man...I don't know how you serious modders do it, TBH. All those endless, seemingly random numbers, and the case sensitive lines of text, where one letter or full stop outta place and... One more thing, if you wouldn't mind...I'd also like to use your observation balloon large explosion effect. Is there a way to use it on its own? Sorry to be such a pain in the jacksy Bucky
  24. WOAH! It's looking utterly magnificent Sinbad! I only just noticed this...Ten days after your first post about it! Quack, I think you'll be able to find a few colour schemes that Sinbad won't include...
  25. Hi again Stary. Thanks very much for your time 'n trouble helping me out with all this. I have to admit that I'm not using your full Effects pack...Like I said at the top there, I'm kinda pleased with how my game looks in the pyrotechnics dept ATM. I think I have Laton's 2nd pack installed. But now, using your 'TRACER.TGA's' and your amended 'LmgobjecthitEffect.ini' (I also set the 'MaxVisibleDistance' line to zero) I have it exactly how I want it...Well I thought I did till Tailspin mentioned the 'smoke hit' effect! (Thanks for the heads up TS.) S'pose I'll have to check that out now...My guess is it must be in Laton's 3rd? Testing changes is just as much fun as the actual gameplay innit? Thanks again. Bucky
