    6. Sikorsky S-16 Flatdeck

Several versions of the S-16 were produced with slight variations in the fuselage and wing configurations. This version has a flat deck behind the pilot and ailerons on both wings. It is based on my earlier versions of the Sikorsky S-16, but is a completely new plane.
The download includes 4 skins - 3 linen and one green - with appropriate decals. This plane has a fully functional cockpit. I have included my skinning templates so others can make new skins if they want.

      Credits
My thanks to ojcar, who made the FM for the Sikorsky S-16.
My thanks also to Nixou, who recorded the sound for the Gnome 80hp engine.

      Version 2 Notes
I have made slight changes to model, especially to the way the plane is rigged, and Ojcar has made a new FM for this plane. I have also improved the skins and made new skins for some different Russian squadrons.
      Version 3 Notes
This is a completely new plane with new LODs, skins, and cockpit. This version has higher detail and a lower poly count than the previous version. This model also includes better detail for battle damage to the wings.

      Installation instructions
This is a completely new plane, if you have already installed the Sikorsky S-16 flatdeck, delete it, including the decals, and replace it with this version. The sound file remains the same.

For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SikorskyS16_var" into the "Aircraft" folder in the FirstEagles/Objects folder. If you have the previous version, then you already have the sound file installed, otherwise you will need to move the sound file "gnome80m4.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SikorskyS16_var" into the "Aircraft" folder in the FirstEagles/Objects folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "SikorskyS16_var".  Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/SikorskyS16_var folder into the Decals/SikorskyS16_var folder you just made.
If you have the previous version of the Sikorsky, then you already have the sound file installed, otherwise you will need to move the sound file "gnome80m4.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

    7. Fokker D.III

The Fokker D.III was a more powerful version of the D.II, using the same wings and tail as the D.II. It had a 14 cylinder Oberursal rotary engine, which required changes to the fuselage but allowed the plane to carry two Spandau machine guns. Unfortunately, the engine had a low compression rate and the plane lost power at high altitudes. Never-the-less, German ace Oswald Boelcke scored 7 victories in 13 days flying a Fokker D.III.

I have made two skins - a plain white linen, and a two color (brown and green) camo. I have also made a full set of serial number decals. My skinning templates are included in the download.

      Credits
My thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Fokker D.III, and for providing helpful reference material for the engine and cowling.

      Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "FokkerD3" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.

For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "FokkerD3" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "FokkerD3." Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/FokkerD3 folder into the Decals/FokkerD3 folder you just made.

    9. FULL SET FMs and Campaigns for Oct 2007 Version EP ONLY

      UPDATE: 3rd September

There's a bit of a mix, some AI only changes, some minor changes, mostly major FM changes.

      N11, N16, N17, N17bis, Halberstadt D3, Fokker D2. AI changes only.

Pfalz EV, Fokkers EIV/EVa. Changed, more difficult to fly and roll reduced.

      Dh2. Minor changes to stalls.

FokkerD7. Minor change, roll reduced and more stable.

      Pup, Tripe, F2b, Dolphin, Se5a, Snipe, N28, Spad13, FokkerDr1, PfalzD3. Major changes.

      Some things worth pointing out:

Dolphin. 4 and 2 Gun versions, 2 Gun version thanks to p10ppy, but otherwise same FM. The default is the 2 gun one. There are backups of each version in the folder hopefully clearly named so you can delete default and copy another to pick and choose.

F2b. Overwing Lewis and Without Lewis versions from Mike Dora's idea, and in folder with backups of each, same FM. Default is Without Overhead Lewis. The gun is removed, but the mount for the Lewis is still in place on this model, as I found some graphical glitches when that was removed.

Fokker Dr1. Two FMs, TKs with AI changes and mine. Default is mine... its your choice.

      ===========================================================================

These are ONLY for the Unpatched Expansion Pack version - October 2007. They will not work well at all with the April 2008 patch nor will they work mixed with stock FMs.

The FMs are written for Hard FM mode. They will not work well, or as designed, in Normal or Easy Mode (Flight Models are completely different and inconsistent).

There is a comprehensive Readme, and includes the following sections:

      1) Introduction
      2) The FMs
      3) Additional Changes to FMs
      4) Extras
      5) AI Difficulty Setting
      6) The Campaigns
      7) Installation
      8) Acknowledgements & Caveats

Installation is simple, but should be done on a clean install of original FE (no patch), then Oct 2007 EP (no patch). You do need to get all the add-on aircraft models installed first.

80 FMs included, and many thanks to all the modellers for allowing me to do these. All are needed for campaigns.

      Bortdafarm - Pfalz B1, Fokker B1, Fokker B2, Fokker D2, Fokker D3, Martinsyde G100, Martinsyde S1, Avro 504D.

      Monty CZ - Nieuport 11, Nieuport 16, Nieuport 17

      EmID - Nieuports 24 (2), Nieuports 27 (4), Nieuport 28, Hanriots (3)

      Laton - Fokker E1, Fokker E1a, Fokker E3, Fokker E3a, Fokker E4, Fokker E4a, Pfalz E1, Pfalz E3, Pfalz E4, Morane H, Morane L, Morane LAO, Fokker D8, Bristol M1c

      Thirdwire - Albatros D3, Albatros D3OAW, Albatros D5, Albatros D5a, FokkerDr1, Fokker D7, Fokker D7F, DFW C5, Camels (3), Spad 7s (2), Spad 13, Se5a, Salmson, Re8

      p10ppy - Morane N, Spad 12

      A-Team - Be2c, Be2d, Fe2b, Fe8, Dh2, Pup, Triplane, Dolphin, Snipe, Breuget 14, F2B, Halberstadt D3, Walfisch, Aviatik C2, Pfalz D3, Pfalz D8, Pfalz D12, Schuckert D3, Junkers D1.

In addition, some planes that use another 3-D Model: N17bis, N23, Fe2c, AlbatrosD3_160, AlbatrosD3OEF_200, AlbatrosD2, DFWC1. These are needed for campaigns also. See Installation instructions.

FMs are mainly by me, but Spad12 FM is by P10ppy, and Camels, Fokker Dr1, Spad 7s are by Thirdwire. The RE8 is largely Thirdwires with some changes to improve takeoff and turning. All have AI changes to fit with other FMs.

      Have fun!

    10. RAF BE12a

The BE12a was a single seat version of the BE2e introduced in 1917. It was intended to be an improvement over the BE12, but the wing configuration did not improve maneuverability very much and it was only produced in small numbers. Like the BE12, it carried a synchronized Vickers gun mounted on the side of the fuselage and could carry up to 230 pounds of bombs. The BE12a was used briefly on the Western Front but saw much of its service in Palestine.

My BE12a has three loadouts for light, medium, amd heavy bombs. I have included a green paint (PC10) skin and a full set of number decals. My skinning templates are included in the download.

      Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the BE12a, and for providing reference materials for the plane.

    11. Airco DH9a "Ninak"

The Airco DH9a, called the "Ninak" ("nine a") was introduced in June 1918 to replace the underpowered DH9. The 400hp Liberty engine required changes to the front of the fuselage, otherwise the plane was pretty much the same as the DH9. Although it was introduced late in the war, the DH9a did see service during the war, and was used extensively afterwards.

I have included two skins, a brown and an olive color. Both use the letter decals that come with First Eagles (which you can set in the loadout screen) and I have included a set of serial numbers which will be applied randomly. There are also loadouts for light, medium, and heavy bomb loads.

The skins are rather generic, I have included my skinning templates for those who wish to make better skins.

My thanks to Ojcar for once again making an excellent data file for the DH9a.
My thanks also to Sinbad for providing a great deal of resource information for this plane.

    12. DH4 USAS "Liberty"

In addition to the British built version, the DH4 was also produced by American manufacturers and was equipped with a Liberty 12 cylinder engine. Although slightly less powerful than the British version, The DH4 Liberty was popular with its crews and was produced in large numbers. After the war, it became the standard general purpose plane for the US Air Service.

This upload features the US version, with a new FM by Ojcar. The Liberty engine was slightly heavier than the British version and performance was reduced. To compensate, American DH4s carried a slighty lighter bomb load than the British built planes.

I have included a new skin using the number decals that come with First Eagles (which you can set in the loadout screen) and a set of serial numbers which will be applied randomly. There are also loadouts for light, medium, and heavy bomb loads.

    13. Airco DH9

The Airco DH9 was introduced early in 1918 as an intended replacement for the DH4. The pilot was seated closer to the gunner in the DH9 and an internal bomb compartment was provided. However, because of the DH9's low performance and unreliable engine, the DH4 remained the better bomber until the DH9a was introduced a few months later. Nevertheless, the DH9 did operate with better success on the Eastern and Palestinian fronts where it faced fewer enemy fighters.

    15. SPAD 11

The SPAD 11 was originally designed as a two seat fighter, but was not agile enough to meet the requirements; so it used as a replacement for the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter and Dorand AR reconnaissance planes. It was armed with a forward firing Vickers gun and a Lewis gun on a ring mount for the observer. It could also carry a small bomb load. The SPAD 11 entered service in late 1917, was flown by several French and Belgian squadrons, and continued in service until nearly the end of the war.

I have made three skins for the SPAD 11 - a French linen, a French camo, and a Belgian camo - each with appropriate squadron insignia. My skinning templates are included in the download for those who want to make their own skins. I have also included a loadout for a light bomb load carried under the wings.

      Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the SPAD 11 and for suggesting some improvements.
Thanks also to Nix for making the sound file for the Hispano-Suiza engine.

    17. Nieuport 17 with wing gun

This is an early Nieuport 17 with a wing mounted "lewis gun"

      From the README;

This is just a mod of the original Nieuport 17 to represent an early model with lewis wing gun.I didn't think of or invent any of the procedures to make it I just appied them to the N17 to get the Vickers off and add the lewis.thanks to MontyCZ and Texmurphy for the original Nieuport 17 and to Capun for allowing me to use his PT17 wing gun.please direct any questions about this mod to me at the below places.while the stats for the wing gun are correct for a Lewis the model is no 100% correct. If someone makes a "true" lewis gun in the future i'll see about adding it if I can secure permission. This Mod includes 2 "Original" skins,A French camo and a Russion. They include the work of the original authors and I take no credit for that.

Any skins for the original should work with this one although you will need to adjust the decal.ini

    18. LFG Roland D.IIa

The Roland D.IIa was nearly identical to the D.II, but had a more powerful engine. The 180HP Argus As.III engine increased the plane's speed and maneuverability, but because it was a low compression engine, it started to lose power at higher altitudes. Like the D.II, the D.IIa was quickly replaced on the Western Front, but served until the end of the war on the Eastern and Macedonian Fronts.

The skins for the Roland D.IIa are nearly identical to the skins for the D.II, but there are some changes to the engine. If you swap skins, you may see some minor stretching on some of the engine components and around the nose of the plane. I have included two new skins, a light green and brown camo, and a dark green and brown camo. I have also included a full set of number decals appropriate for the D.IIa. My skinning templates are included in the download.

I didn't have a sound file for the Argus 180hp engine, so I used the sound for the Mercedes 180hp instead.

Note - The engine sound file has been used in several other planes. If you already have a file with the same name in your Sounds folder, then you don't need to install mine.

For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RolandD2a" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. If you don't already have it, you will also need to move the sound file "mercedes180m1.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RolandD2a" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "RolandD2a". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/RolandD2a folder into the Decals/RolandD2a folder you just made. If you don't already have it, you will also need to move the sound file "mercedes180m1.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

    19. Moska MB bis

The Moska MB bis was a Russian single wing fighter, first deployed in 1916 and produced throughout the rest of World War I. It did not have a synchronized gun and the stock plane had the gun mounted at an angle to fire over the prop. I have created a "field modded" version with a horizontal gun and with deflector plates on the prop. Both versions use the same skins.

I have included my skinning templates with the download. The planes uses the stock decals, so there is no "D" folder with this plane.

One of the distinctive features of the Moska MB was that its wings could be folded for shipping and transport. I have included a static model, with folded wings, that can be used by modders in their terrains. The static version has a destroyed version and includes the Types.ini data.

    20. RAF BE12

The BE12 was a single seat version of the BE2c introduced in 1916. It had the wings of the BE2c, but had a larger, 12 cylinder (RAF4a) engine. There was a synchronized Vickers gun mounted on the side of the fuselage and it could carry up to 230 pounds of bombs. The more powerful engine made the BE12 a faster plane, but it didn't have the maneuverability required for a fighter. The BE12 was used mostly for recon and light bombing missions.

My BE12 has three loadouts for light, medium, amd heavy bombs. I have included two skins, a green paint (PC10), and a clear doped linen skin. A full set of number decals and my skinning templates are included in the download.

    22. AlbatrosDIII flight Model

Kept getting shot down in the circus, so I made a more stable Rig. Hope it works for you. Made for Bortdafarm's Fantastic-Looking Albatros DIII (available here). Just tweaked it to version2....was too much yaw oscillation and roll inertia. Rolls better now, but not as good as a fokkerD7; hopefully realistic.

    23. Beardmore built Nieuport 12

The Nieuport 12 was built under license by Beardmore & Co. Ltd. for both the RNAS and the RFC. The Beardmore version differed from the French version in many small ways; the most obvious differences were - a vertical stabilizer at the tail, a slightly longer lower wing, and a different engine cowling. My version has a Lewis Gun mounted on a Scarff Ring for the observer and a Vickers Gun mounted on the fuselage for the pilot.

The British built Nieuports had the insignia placed differently from the French versions, my decal ini's are British style. I have included two skins, a brown and linen skin for the RFC, and a dark green skin for the RNAS. There is a set of appropriate serial number decals for each. My skinning templates are included with the download. I have also made British faces for the cockpit instruments.

Because of the many minor differences, the skins, cockpit, and data file are not interchangeable with my original Nieuport 12.

    24. Hanriot HD.2

The Hanriot HD.2 was a French, single seat float plane version of the Hanriot HD.1. It had a larger tail, shorter wings, and mounted 2 Vickers machine guns. It was used by the French as an interceptor, defending seaplane bases, and as an escort for reconnaissance planes.

Since it's a float plane, the Hanriot HD.2 works best in the North Sea terrain, or in Flanders, Gibraltar or other terrain that has a lot of water. The plane will actually take off and land from a conventional airfield, but it looks strange to see the floats going under the ground.

I have included two skins, a generic linen skin and a 4 color camo skin. The camo skin may be fictitious and uses the French 4 color camo pattern, but with blue and grey colors instead of greens and browns. I have included a set of decals. My skinning templates are included with the download.

    25. Phönix D.II

The Austro-Hungarian Phönix D.II was an improved version of the D.I, both of which appeared in 1917. The D.II included changes to the ailerons, elevators, and engine which improved the performance over the D.I. The Phönix was a stable plane and slow to maneuver but could handle steep dives and was considered an excellent fighter.

I have included a set of letter decals so you can set flight letters in the Loadout screen, or the game will randomly assign a different letter to each plane.

I have included my skinning templates so others can make new skins if they want. I have also included my .OUT files for the benefit of future modders.

My thanks to ojcar, who created the FM to capture the power and performance of this sturdy plane.

      Historical Notes
I couldn't find any photos of the D.II cockpit. The cockpit of my model is based on the D.I with a little speculation. I believe it is reasonably accurate.
