Here you have a collection of generic skins representing various squadrons that operated the North American P-51D/K Mustang during WWII.
They are NOT 100% accurate and definitely NOT perfect since camoflage and/or markings patterns differed from plane to plane within the same squadron, therefore
the term "generic" (constructive criticism will be accepted, however, rivet-counters, nit-pickers and haters in general, well, you can talk amongst yourselves).
The idea being to give you the chance to fly your favorite Mustang squadron and rack-up your own kills, and for that porpuse I've also included a set of "kill"
markings for both japanese and german kills.
Initially it was going to be a more accurate list but due to an increased work load I no longer have the time to go thru the process of creating and matching serials
and individual markings to each aircraft.
Some of the squadrons make use of the stock Mustang serial numbers and other stock numbers modified by me.
Also, for the Mustang Mk. IV camo I've used the stock israeli camo while I work on a correct one for the British ponies.
You must have the following for this pack to work:
1. Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 1 installed to get the P-51.
2. WWII Nations.ini
3. WWII Formation.ini
4. WWII weapons pack
Also, you'll need to update your squadron list.
The squadron list goes as follows:

SF2 WW2 FAA F6F-5 Hellcat Skin and Ini Update Pak
-- For Geo's Hellcat --
= For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
*Note: Mod may =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. It uses more SF2NA style statements, and a fancy SF2-only "switches" that absolutely don't work in 1stGens*
*Note #2: this model will update the SF2 version of Geo's F6F-5, that I uploaded some time ago. The aircraft/skin pak is available at the following URL:
http://combatace.com/files/file/13316-sf2-ww2-pto-f6f-hellcat-pak/
This is to be applied AFTER installing the above mentioned, and/or directly OVER you existing aircraft, for those that have it already.
Included in this pak are:
A new skin for
1844 Naval Air Squadron, FAA, as serving with the BPF aboard HMS INDOMITABLE, in late 44-thru 45. The skin is still in the original tga format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE.
And...
updated data, loadout 'main' inis, and a new Userlist.ini with (hopefully!) correct exportation dates. Dates are rounded to the closest whole year. The data ini has a slightly refined FM (which, honestly DOES need further tweeking by experts). Certain nation-centric SF2 only 'switches' have been applied when selecting the FAA skins and FAA-specific loadouts will be generated.
"New" Royal Navy type weapon(s) are included (ok, 1 new rocket set; all the bombs are the standard RAF type) Drop tank is not inclued; it's in the original pak. Also, a new FAA-themed hangar screen
When in game, select the F6F-5, and "Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm" for the service, and have at them!
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please READ them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too for futher explinations, clarifactions, illuminations and so forth.

P-51D Mustang, 47th Fighter Squadron, 15th FG, WW2 PTO
-- For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Prefered), and/or SF2I ALL w/ExpansionPak 1 --
(it can acutally be used in any SF2 install that has the access to the stock P-51D)
NOTE: you =MUST= have, at minimum, SF2:I Expansion Pak 1, and/or with a full-4/5 merged w/Exp1 installed. If you don't have these, don't bother downloading this package.
This skin represents aircraft of the 47th FS, 15th FG as based at Airfield #1, Iwo Jima, during mid-1945 through wars end.
"Plane In Group" number decals reflect the actual type used (150-199); serial numbers are stock -so make sure you've the the latest 3rdWire stuff intalled.
As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install (read: drag and drop).

P-51D Mustang, 72nd Fighter Squadron, WW2 PTO
-- For SF2, Full-4 Merged (Prefered), and/or SF2I -both w/ExpansionPak 1 --
(it can be used in any SF2 install that has the access to the stock P-51D)
NOTE: you =MUST= have, at minimum, SF2:I Expansion Pak 1, and/or with a full-4 merged w/Exp1 installed. If you don't have these, don't bother downloading this package.
Skin represents aircraft of the 72nd FS, 21st FG as based at Ie Shima, Okinawa during mid-1945 through wars end.
Included is the most recent data ini (5/11), with the addition of corrected lights (running, formation, landing) and a opening canopy. Use shift/0 to open and close. More importantly, the weapons data for the stock 3rd Wire Mustang drop tank -NOW WORKING!!- For some reason, when NOT in the weapons folder, it wouldn't work. Please note, if you wish to have the tanks on other Mustangs in other installs mod folders (ie: IDF Mustangs, Central American or even post-War USAF), you'll need to use the supplied loadout ini. Drop it into the aircraft folder of the bird lacking tanks.
The WW2 era pilot is not supplied; you should have him already in you WW2 game install.
As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install (read: drag and drop).

P-51D Mustang "NoseArt" Skin Pak
= For SF2, Any & All, PLUS! SF2:I ExpansionPak 1 =
** SF2:I Exp1 is REQUIRED!!!!, as it contains the P-51D. If you do =NOT= have it, don't download
this mod, as you'll be unable to use it!!! This pack may also be usable in WoI, with it's
Expansion Pak. This has NOT been tested**
A new skin for WW2/Post-War Mustangs that adds 100 nose arts decals, culled from various and
sundry other skins/projects I've done, plus several new ones. Some are historically accurate for
the period depicted; Some will be 'anachronistic' for the late 1940s, but that's part of the fun!
A new P-51 skin is included, that has the red spinner repainted back to a more 'natural metal'
look.
Decal Randomization is set to TRUE. Skin maps are in jpg format.
- PARENTAL ADVISORY: This pack contains several artworks that depict the nude human female form
(ok, right, well actually, MOST of them do!!). If you find these to be offensive, you should
consult your doctor and/or psycholigist immeadately (if not sooner), as there must be something
quite wrong with you!!
Users under 18 years of age must have permission from a parent or guardian to download this mod.
Happy Oggling!

SF2 WW2 SB2C-4 Helldiver Skins Pak

= For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

VB-85, USS Shangri-La (both in Dark Gloss Navy Blue, post-Jan 1944)
Skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE.
They depict mid- and late war schemes. VB-82 & 85 carry the "G System" markings for their respective Air Groups, VB-19 does not.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. It contains the Change List.

SF2 WW2 SB2C-1 Helldiver Tweeks Pak
-- Something for the PTO players --
= For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
Some tweeks, and a new skin for Veltro2K's recently released Curtiss SB2C-1 "Helldiver" WW2 USN dive bomber. It is to be applied to the aircraft package available at the following url:
http://combatace.com/files/file/13772-curtiss-sb2c-1-helldiver/
This pak contains a brand new 3-tone camo skin and 'generic' modex number decal set. The skin iteself can be also considered generic, as all units, when the Helldiver first entered service, were painted in the 3-tone. Some, including -3 & -4 models, carried it until VJ-Day. However, after late 43/early 44, the "G" system of Air Group marking came into being. This pak does NOT contain any G-system markings. They can easily be added via decals ini tweeking. And probably will be, as time permits :) .
Included are Tweeked Data, loadout, and main inis as well as Sounds; weapons are NOT included. (excepting the drop tank). A brand NEW SF2-stye 'flight deck' hangar screen is.
The skin is in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. It contains the Change List.

SF2 WW2 ETO 53rd FS, P-47D Bubbletop Pak
-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --
= For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
This skin should have been in with the recently released ETO Bubbletop Jug pak (for Wolf's Jug), but I'd forgotten that I'd moved it to a storage folder. As I had to reskin it and make some new decals to replace Major Lee's originals (sorry Ken!!), here it is! It sorta 'fell through the cracks', and I apologize!
This pack contain the skin/decal set for the
53rd FS, 36th FG, 9th AF (NM only)
in early 1944 (pre-Invasion Striped). All new decals replace the originals by Major Lee, and Decal randomization set to TRUE. The NEW skin is in Jpg format. Serial numbers are 'generic' in nature, but are correct for the model/sub-variant depicted.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Major Lee's original readme is enclosed for historical purposes
