jollyrogers99 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago So i recently got the addons for the JF17, TORNADO and the J10C they seem to be working fine EXCEPT theres literally no engine sounds
Flanker562 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Open the _Data.ini of the aircraft and find this line: [Sound] EngineSoundName=JetEngine IF the sound name in those files are the same as above, then they're pretty weak. Failing that check the Sounds folder, then extract the Soundlist.ini from the cats (Don't know which, just extract them all, and then put that in your Flight folder in your mod folder. Then find the readmes and add that sound to the soundlist.ini in sequential order. If you do that then the sound should show up, but if it's JetEngine, then it's just a shit sound anyway.
Gepard Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago In the most cases the developers had forgotten to include the sound file. Simply overwrite EngineSoundName= SomethingStrangeName with EngineSoundName=JetEngine That always helps
Wrench Posted 20 minutes ago Posted 20 minutes ago SF2 has a MAJOR issue with engine sounds. Like Flanker said, you'll have to extract the Soundlist.ini from the FlightData.cat, and place it in the /Flight folder of whichever mods folder you're installing the aircraft to. This, of course, goes on the chance the mod maker ACTUALLY included the engine sounds. If they didn't, just use the stock sound (JetEngine) in their data ini, like Gepard said. If they actually DID include the sounds, here's the proper instructions take from a recently uploaded mod of mine. Obviously, change the sound name to the one used by the jets ... Quote Due to "oddness" with SF2 of late (like the last 8-10 years which will NEVER likely get fucking fixed ...), you'll be adding a new engine sound to your SoundList.ini. If you haven't extracted it already, you MUST do so now. You'll find it in the FlightData.cat. Use whichever extraction tool you feel comfortable with. Once extracted, you'll place it in the /Flight folder within your Mods folder. If you don't have that, just create one (the new /Flight folder that is). Open the newly extracted SoundList.ini, and add the following: Where *** is the next number in sequence, in the top numbered section ----> SoundFile***=C130Engine Then, copy/paste the following at the end of all the sound listing (at the bottom of the page) [C130Engine] Priority=NORMAL 3DSound=TRUE DopplerEffect=TRUE Looped=TRUE FrequencyControl=TRUE NumBuffers=3 MaxDist=1500.000000 MinDist=100.000000 InsideConeAngle=60 OutsideConeAngle=180 ConeOutsideVolume=90 Save and close the ini.
