So, yes, I have recently been uploading some mods that I have been working on over the years. Some were made long ago...time passed, then I changed my approach, then changed something.

Later, guys here and I had some plans...We still have, but as a matter of fact, I decided not to keep these mods on the drive as it is pointles..better if you can have fun.

Anyway. So from time to time, you might find something popping up in the download section under the Vietnam Air War banner. Some old stuff, some new, maybe something extra.

But also, if you have some suggestions, feel free to engage in the topic,

Also, if ever some updates come(small ones), it will be posted here in the topic, not in the download section.

So first is a small update for AC-130A - MER rack - Ravenclaw was so kind and made a black one - so if you want to replace, here it is. All thanks to Ravenclaw.

Also, someone suggested some time ago that there is a problem with double tga. textures in-game. Yes, it is. So, the new pilots that I have added to my mods had those visors  transparent, with assigned tga texture in max, and this causes some silly visual effects in-game.

So here are the same models, but with removed tga. textures and this one is using jpg - non-transparent substitute. Just in case someone might want it the old way.

Just make sure to make a backup.

F-4 Phantoms of the Vietnam air war

I have Navy Phantoms - as a part of the Vietnam CVWs. A-6 and A-7 are done this way already. And have some other birds of those CVW too, but that is another story. Might do Marines squadrons - but this might be too much, as generally I want to finish/upload what I have...not really thinking about doing something new/more, at least for now. It is not a full-time job...

No. Yes. I did.

I already uploaded A-6 and A-7 CVWs. All known and confirmed serials from all Vietnam cruises.

So for Phantoms, it goes/it will go the same way, squadron year by year, and set startdefaultdate= to correspond with other skin packs from the same CVW. As I mentioned, A-6 and A-7 are done this way... (and privately I have made similar changes on Nyghtfall's Skyhawks - but I am not going to re-work his Skyhawks,  I did it only for myself* - this is his child, and it is quite an extraordinary mod).

So when I play, for example, a single mission in October 69, the game will automatically load other aircraft only from deployments that are set for that timeframe, resulting in loading proper CVWs.

Example as mentioned before, Oct 14, 1969 - Jun 1, 1970 CVW-2 on CVA61 Ranger: VA-93 and VA-56 mounted on A-7B, VA-196 on A-6A 6A, Two Phantom squadrons VF-21, VF-154...and there were other birds too, but not all we have present in game...

It is generally meticulous work...in a way...But I am finding final results quite rewarding...Hope all of you also.

* By editing skin pack startdefaultdate= and editing data ini/loadout.ini - so it works with my edited MERs and TERs as on A-6/A-7 and on Phantoms.

This one is nearly 3 years on CA with updates made several weeks ago.

And Drumsticks were released a month ago...

i meant in the style that i do mixed wings for the USAF. with all aircraft present

so i will take that as no

it would be  educational for the newer younger crowd that is discovering SF2, and learned about Vietnam from youtube rather than movies, tv or even stories from dads and uncles. but with two releases down, youve got your pattern set

no biggie, just thought it would be cool
