Hi everyone!

I’ve been looking for a way to greatly improve the draw distances in SF2 to better match reality. So far, I’ve mainly been experimenting with HorizonDistance and DetailMeshSize, which I currently have set to 62,000 and 14, respectively.

Although I really like the effect these settings produce, especially when objects fade is turned off and Cities are visible from far away, I’m still not completely satisfied with the overall draw distance. I also ran into issues with distant objects starting to Z-fight, shimmer, or flicker.

I came across some old files/edits from around 2015 by Mue that apparently allowed the draw distances in Strike Fighters 2 to be increased significantly, particularly for terrain and 3D objects. Unfortunately, the original attachments/files are no longer available. I’d really appreciate it if anyone who still has these old files, or has experience with these edits, could share them or provide some insight into how they were configured.

I’m especially interested in pushing the terrain and object draw distances much further, while minimizing the shimmering/flickering that can occur with distant objects. I also remember reading an old thread mentioning that it was possible for TOD objects to naturally fade into the horizon, which is something I’d really like to achieve.

If anyone happens to have the old files archived, or knows how these settings were edited, I’d be extremely grateful if you could share them or point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for any help!
